NASCAR Cup Series

After surviving Talladega and advancing to the Eliminator Round of 8, Martin Truex Jr. gave a quick assessment about the next three Chase races, starting with Sunday’s Goody’s 500 at the half-mile Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.

1. Joey Logano: Logano won the CampingWorld.com 500 at Talladega, taking the checkered flag under caution for his third straight win.

JEFF GORDON: I'm excited. I think a lot of people didn't count on us to do this or expect it. I think for us, we're carrying just a lot of confidence and momentum and pride right now knowing that we've had to grind it out just to get ourselves in the Chase. That grind and that fight that we have in us is what we've been putting out there these last six weeks that have gotten us to this round."

'ALMOST PERFECT' AT 'DEGA: Dale Earnhardt Jr., driver of the No. 88 Chevrolet SS, finished an agonizingly close second to Joey Logano at Talladega Superspeedway last week after leading 61 laps during what he described as an “almost perfect” day.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to Martinsville Speedway this weekend. Clint Bowyer and his No. 15 Maxwell House Toyota crew will be outfitted in the coffee maker’s traditional blue.

Heading into this weekend's event at Martinsville Speedway, the No.32 CorvetteParts.Net team will travel to the "The Old Dominion State" with Kyle Fowler for the 67th annual Goody's Headache Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, VA. Sunday's Goody's 500 will mark Fowler's 2nd career start at the famous paper clip, and his 2nd career NSCS start. The Smyrna, GA native made his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Debut (NSCS) debut in 2014 during the Fall Martinsville event for Go Green Racing finishing 28th, after starting 42nd.

Richard Childress Racing's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history at Martinsville Speedway ... In 150 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at Martinsville Speedway, Richard Childress Racing has earned four pole awards and posted seven victories with drivers Dale Earnhardt (five times), Ricky Rudd (1983) and Kevin Harvick (2011).
