News and notes: Coming off a very solid performance at Road America, Boyd will head south to have his first date with The Lady in Black at Darlington Raceway. Boyd will sport a special throwback paint scheme honoring three-time ARCA champion Bob Dotter, this weekend. Earlier this week it was announced Bob Dotter has been nominated to the 2019 Illinois Stock Car Hall of fame. “This is going to be such a special weekend,” says Boyd. "I'm so appreciative of everything Bobby Dotter has done for me and my career. It's really cool that we get to honor his father in such a historic race. I think this scheme will definitely be worth a couple tenths or so."

“I’m excited about Darlington. It’s probably one of the most unknown tracks that I’ve gone to this year since I’ve never been there. From everything I have seen, I think it is a track that I’m really going to like. It’s obviously a very tricky race track and demands a lot of respect. I’m excited for the challenge and hopefully I can have a strong run in my final race of the season in the No. 60 Ford.”

Ryan Reed – Darlington Advance

Reed started the race 17th and was able to capitalize on fresh tires to race his way up to 11th, but contact on pit road impeded his forward momentum. Despite an extra pit stop for left front fender repair, Reed rebounded to finish 15th.

This weekend’s event at Darlington Raceway will mark Elliott’s sixth NASCAR Xfinity Series race with GMS Racing. Elliott is scheduled to run next weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway as well.
