Roush Fenway Racing driver Ryan Reed heads to his home track of Auto Club Speedway (ACS) in Fontana, Calif. this weekend. Reed is originally from Bakersfield, Calif. and still has many family and friends in the area. Reed watched his Dad race there growing up and it also the track where he got his first autograph. His first autograph happened to come from Dale Earnhardt Jr. and is the only die cast car Reed has in his collection besides cars he has raced.

Cindric on Fontana “I’ve never raced there; it’s one of three tracks that I’ll visit for the first time this season; The other two being Richmond and Darlington. Michigan is similar in size and shape to Fontana and I’ve had some success there. In 2017, I was able to lead a lot of laps and battled for the win. I’ve spent some time on the sim prepping for Fontana and even got some advice from Mark Martin when he was at the shop the other day. He described Fontana as a hybrid mix between Atlanta and Michigan. It’s got the characteristics of Atlanta, but the size and shape of Michigan and it’s all about momentum.”

Reed at Auto Club Speedway - Reed has competed at Auto Club Speedway (ACS) four times in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and has never finished lower than 17th.

Richard Childress Racing's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series History at Auto Club Speedway ... In 86 overall Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts at Auto Club Speedway, RCR Chevrolet teams have earned one win (Kevin Harvick - 2011), two pole awards (Mike Skinner - April 2000, Austin Dillon - 2016), 12 top-five and 28 top-10 finishes. RCR has a 19.6 average starting position and a 16.5 average finishing position at the moderately-banked D-shaped race track.

Gallagher and the No. 23 Allegiant team will utilize chassis No. 222; this chassis was ran twice last year, first in the fall at Richmond Raceway (Start:23rd/Finish:22nd) and then again in the fall at Dover International Speedway (Start:20th/Finish:24th).

Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 22 car for Team Penske, overcame a stage two pit road speeding penalty and multiple weather delays to outlast the field in the DC Solar 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) race at ISM Raceway. With Keselowski’s victory, Roger Penske, owner of Team Penske, became the winningest team owner in ISM Raceway history with 15 including six in NASCAR.

BRANDON JONES, No. 19 Juniper Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - What are your thoughts about being here at Phoenix this weekend? “Phoenix has always been one of those track I have to put a lot effort into to get really good at. That’s been one of the awesome things about my switch to Toyota this year is using those resources in the simulator program that they have there."

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series go onto the second leg of the NASCAR Goes West part of the schedule, heading to ISM Raceway at Phoenix. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is off. Check out the tentative full schedule below, subject to change.

News and notes:  After a mechanical failure resulted in a disappointing finish at Las Vegas, Spencer Boyd is ready to set his sights on ISM Raceway. "You know what they say. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas," says Boyd. "For us, that means leaving Vegas in the rear view and concentrating on getting a great result in Phoenix." The team will travel from Vegas to Phoenix today and begin prepping for a successful weekend.

Richard Childress Racing's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series History at ISM Raceway ... Team owner Richard Childress has six victories at ISM Raceway, ranking him third on the all-time car owner victories list at the Avondale, Ariz. facility. This includes wins with Ryan Newman in March 2017, along with Kevin Harvick in Nov. 2013, Nov. 2012 and March and Nov. 2006. Prior to that, Dale Earnhardt won the Checker 500 on Nov. 4, 1990. In 115 starts at Phoenix, the Welcome, North Carolina based organization boasts 19 top-five and 42 top-10 finishes.
