On the heels of the team’s career best finish in their most recent race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway two weeks ago, B.J. McLeod Motorsports (BJMM) is feeling refreshed competing in their backyard in Saturday afternoon’s Hisense 4K TV 300 at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.

Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway marks Reed’s eighth start at the 1.5-mile track. In his previous seven starts, Reed has never finished outside of the top-19. His best finish of 11th came in the fall of 2015.

"I am pumped to get back behind the wheel of the No. 23 Allegiant Chevrolet Camaro at Charlotte (Motor Speedway). I have raced there in the XFINITY Series twice now and haven't done the best but we look to turn that around. We had a really great test a couple weeks ago and we took away some informative data and analysis from the session. I am going into this weekend with high hopes of bringing home a strong finish."

NASCAR today announced sweeping changes to the lineup of tracks that make up the playoffs as part of its 2018 national series schedules. Next season, the final regular season race in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will be contested at iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the Round of 16 kicks off at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Richard Childress Racing's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series history at Charlotte Motor Speedway ... In 157 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Richard Childress Racing teams have earned seven points-paying victories (four wins with Dale Earnhardt, one with Jeff Burton and two with Kevin Harvick) and four All-Star race victories (three with Earnhardt and one with Harvick), giving RCR 11 total Cup Series checkered flags at the Concord, N.C.-based track. RCR boasts 22 top-five and 50 top-10 finishes at the 1.5-mile track. Childress, a former driver on NASCAR's senior circuit, contributed two of those top-10 finishes from 1978 to 1979. The Welcome, N.C. organization has led a combined 1,149 laps at the Charlotte facility.

Wallace looked poised to earn another top-10 finish in the NASCAR XFINITY Series event at Talladega Superspeedway before contact on the final lap sent the Roush Fenway Racing driver into the inside retaining wall. Wallace, who had overcome damage sustained in a multi-car incident on Lap 20, was running inside the top 10 before the incident occurred and ultimately was scored with a 13th-place finish.

Richard Childress Racing has made a change in crew chiefs for its Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR XFINITY Series programs, effective immediately.

NASCAR XFINITY Series rookie drivers William Byron (JR Motorsports), Tyler Reddick (Chip Ganassi Racing), Cole Custer (Stewart-Haas Racing) and Daniel Hemric (Richard Childress Racing) tested on the high banks of Darlington Raceway for the first time on Wednesday.
