Jarrad Whissell had his hands full at yesterday’s race at the Motoplex Speedway, battling transmission and handling issues behind the wheel of his #44 SMS/Komatsu Ford which ended his night earlier than expected.

Friday night’s running of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway started off on a high note for Venturini Motorsports with series point’s leader, Brennan Poole, earning his third career ARCA Menards Pole by Ansell Award while teammates Ryan Reed and Erik Jones turned in solid qualifying efforts locking down the third and sixth spots on the starting grid.

The first night race, and one-day show, of 2012 offered plenty of changing factors for teams at the Iowa Speedway, and Frank Kimmel returned to the top five with a 5th place finish at the night's end.

Venturini Motorsports, in its 30th Anniversary Season of ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards championship stock car racing, is heading home to celebrate. The family-owned team, which grew its roots in Chicago, Illinois, has entered five cars for the upcoming Ansell ActivArmr 150 at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday night, July 21.

The overcast skies over Rossberg Ohio had a foreboding quality to them. The humidity was high and you could almost smell the rain. Track workers would stop for a moment and look up at the skies and then hurry on their way.

Fourty eight 410 sprint cars showed up to compete in the Knight before the Royal with the World of Outlaws at Eldora. From the very beginning it was obvious this wasn't going to be a typical night of racing.

Alex Bowman would hold off Grant Enfinger on a late race restart to win the Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway. It marks Bowman’s third win of the season as he became the seventh different driver to pull into victory lane on the short track.
