Kasey Kahne broke the track record in qualifying on Friday at the newly repaved Kansas Speedway. Kahne captured the pole with a lap of 191.360 mph for Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400.

Definitely wasn't what I expected, but it sure feels good to get a pole here. Our car was really strong in race trim and really wasn't all that good in qualifying trim. Hopefully, this is a good sign of things that will give us a strong run here on Sunday.” Hamlin said.
