Darrell Wallace Jr. kicked off his search for a second victory this season in the Camping World Truck Series the right way as he scored the 21 Means 21 Pole Award for the American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway. Wallace Jr. drove his No. 54 ToyotaCare Toyota to a quick lap of 22.946 seconds. It marks Wallace Jr.'s first pole of the season and the second pole of his career.

The 0.875-mile oval is one of five tracks on the circuit where Ben Kennedy made a start in 2013, earning a top-15 finish in his Iowa debut. In addition to one NCWTS event, Kennedy has made more than 760 laps at the Midwest track, having participated in five events in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) since 2011. In those five NKNPSE starts, Kennedy earned a best start of sixth and a best finish of ninth.

Experiencing an incident that acted as a setback during a mid-race restart, Weller worked on a different pit strategy than the leaders throughout the closing stages of the race. Forced to take a few gambles to regain lost ground, Weller and his SS Green Light Racing team could never catch the break they needed to rebound and instead finished in the 22nd position.
