How To Get The Best Deals From Car Dealers Auckland

Despite mixed reactions regarding the automobile industry’s prospects for 2023, experts project that worldwide car sales will continue to rise, especially in countries like New Zealand, where vehicles are necessary.

A recent global survey shows New Zealand has the highest number of cars per capita, with almost 697 vehicles per one thousand people. Private vehicles play a significant role in the country’s transport system, with some households maintaining two to three cars.

If you’re a car owner looking to replace an aging auto, heading to car dealerships is better than looking for private sellers who might sell you a lemon car. Doing these things can help you get the deals in and out of Auckland.

  1. Make a shortlist and compare

Because of the hefty car costs, it pays to take your time and do your homework. Determine your goals and reasons for getting one before approaching at least three car dealers Auckland has on its list of reputable businesses.

Besides knowing the vehicle’s main features, determine its current value. For instance, a light and compact car that costs NZD$ 20,000 is already considered affordable based on the country’s current prices. Knowing and comparing the car’s features, actual condition, and cost is paramount in spotting the best deal.

  1. Get pre-approved

If purchasing a vehicle through a mortgage, get pre-approved to know how much money you can lend. Tell your dealer to send a list of cars within the price range. Shop around and choose a lender with the lowest interest rates and shortest terms for the best savings.

  1. Be updated with the best car deals

Manufacturers often have store or country-specific deals to encourage more buyers. While these may not be necessary for NZ, asking car manufacturers for updated information about their deals, vouchers, and other money-saving schemes doesn’t hurt. Subscribing to your favorite car manufacturer’s account has the same effect, providing you leverage during negotiations.

  1. Look for dealer certifications

Car dealers are subject to regulations and must only sell acceptable or good-quality vehicles. Still, a second-hand car buyer must test and inspect the car, with the help of a trusted mechanic, to ensure its overall performance.

Refer to a car selling and fixing checklist for a quick automobile evaluation. Otherwise, look for dealer or manufacturer certifications. Doing so prevents you from spending too much on maintenance and ownership costs.

  1. Good timing is key

Waiting for the best time to buy a car may sound counterintuitive, especially as great deals are often the first to expire. If you’re willing to wait, study the car sales cycles to increase your chances of getting a great car at the best price. Consider the following points:

  • Visit the dealership early in the week and before payday so you can negotiate well.
  • Purchase cars toward the end of the month, when dealers are either pressed to meet sales quotas or have already met them. Either way, they’re likely more willing to entertain bargaining clients looking to stretch their budget.
  • For the same reason, check out cars close to quarterly dues or towards the end of March, June, September, or December.

Buyers can visit the dealership and establish a cordial relationship with the salespersons, who are more likely to update you when good deals crop up.

  1. Don’t be afraid to negotiate

Auto sellers want to profit, while buyers intend to pay the lowest price for a great car. Before bargaining, prospective buyers must be aware of the vehicle’s market price and condition.

If you can’t find a vehicle in the same or better condition at a lower price, it’s an offer that’s hard to miss.

  1. Pay in cash

Car dealers are mostly open to haggling, especially if you’re paying in cash. Although less practiced in NZ, asking for car price cuts or discounts is common worldwide, whether for slightly used or newly-released vehicles. You can start by asking for a five percent discount for new cars and more for used vehicles.

  1. Say no to “extra” offers

Before signing the documents and closing the deal, some dealers might offer you a range of add-ons like extended warranties and interior modification packages to “sweeten” the deal. Skip these offers since you can get them at lower prices outside the dealership.

Final thoughts

Taking heed of the points above lets car buyers know what to look for and how to prepare when purchasing their next car. Start by setting your goals and budget and comparing prices at different dealerships. For better bargaining power, move on to know the vehicle’s actual condition, market price, and sales cycles.

Even if you can’t get the car for the desired price, get it as long as you’re sure it’s the best offer. Conversely, there’s no shame in walking away, especially if you can get a better deal elsewhere.

Benefits Offered By Cloud Storage For Photographers

If you’re a photographer, then you may already be used to using external hard drives to store your pictures. But external hard drives can sometimes stop working, without warning. Unless you have all your photos backed up, chances are you’ll end up losing some of your photos. When you turn to cloud storage, however, this problem disappears.

The cost of internet access today is low, whether you want to use mobile data or broadband. The cost of cloud storage is also quite low. Given that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to store your photos, cloud storage isn’t a bad option. You’ll also be able to access your photos at any time, from any device that has an internet connection. In addition to this, you also won’t have to worry about losing your photos, since they’ll be securely stored on the cloud. Here are the benefits of using cloud storage for photographers.

1. Better Backup Storage

Photographers can need to store hundreds of pictures, if not more. You’ll need to have at least enough space in your external hard drive, to store 5TB of data, if not more. With an external hard drive, you just get one copy as well. By shifting to cloud storage on the other hand, you don’t have to worry about the number of pictures that you’re storing.

With cloud storage, your photos will also be backed up, without you needing to do anything. All you have to do is upload your photos, and then download them when you need to. The process of backing up your photos is done automatically.

2. The Price Of Using Cloud Storage

If you go get an HDD, it’ll have a lifespan beyond which it won’t work. This is usually around four years if you use it a lot. If you travel with the HDD, then this can reduce its lifespan as well. You’ll also need to ensure that you properly remove your device from your laptop or PC, every time. You’ll also need to keep buying HDDs every time you need to store more photos.

While you won’t find a cloud storage service that’s dedicated to photographers, there are services like Google Photos that you can take advantage of. Instead of buying new HDDs every few months, you could just store all your photos in the same place- your cloud storage. If you opt for a yearly plan then you’ll be able to get more storage space at a lower cost. Overall, you’ll be spending less money when you choose to store your photos on your cloud storage.

3. Uploading And Transferring Photos

When it comes to HDDs, the process of data transferring is usually slow. On your cloud storage, on the other hand, the speed depends on what your network bandwidth is. Remember that if you need to obtain your data through the cloud storage archive, this could still take some time. This option is usually for business or industrial use.

As a photographer, you’ll be fine with just opting for the standard package. With cloud storage, you can access your photos anytime and anywhere. You’ll also be able to view your photos through multiple devices, as long as they have an internet connection.

4. Quality And Compression

Photographers usually save their photos in raw format which are great for Wallpics. These raw files are bigger than JPEGs since they have information about the colors in the picture. This information can be accessed during the image editing process, if necessary.

If you’re just a casual photographer on the other hand, opting for Google Photos to store your images is more than enough. This is because you don’t need to store the raw files. Before you upload your photos to a cloud storage service, modify them and ensure they are converted into high-quality compressed JPEG files.

These JPEGs can then be uploaded to your cloud. There are also cloud storage providers who can help you compress your photos further, without affecting the quality of the photos. It’s also possible for you to save raw files on your cloud storage.

5. Recovering Data

When you use cloud storage services, you don’t have to worry about losing data. Unlike hard disks or other external storage devices that can get damaged, cloud storage doesn’t get damaged. Instead, your data is managed by service providers of the cloud. You can also always download a backup of your photos, to keep them with you.

6. Security

The photos that you store should be kept safe and secure. Cloud storage is an extremely secure space for you to store your photos. You also don’t have to worry about losing your HDD, getting it damaged, and more.

Conclusion

Cloud storage offers one of the best ways for photographers to store their photos. From raw files to JPEGs, they can all be stored in the cloud. By using cloud storage, you can enjoy easy accessibility and portability of your files, and will also not have to worry about losing your files. This guide lists the benefits of using cloud storage for photographers.

Kyle Busch- No. 51 Zariz Transport Silverado Craftsman Trucks Las Vegas Preview

Kyle Busch: Driver, No. 51 Zariz Transport Chevrolet

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Overview:
Event: Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200, Race 2 of 23, 134 Laps – 30/30/74; 201 Miles
Location: Las Vegas Motor Speedway (1.5-mile tri-oval)
Date/Broadcast: March 3, 2023, at 9 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR 90

The Report on ‘Rowdy’:

KBM owner-driver Kyle Busch makes his first start of the 2023 Craftsman Truck Series season behind the wheel of the No. 51 Chevrolet Friday night in Las Vegas. Zariz Transport, a fast growing intermodal drayage company specializing in transporting containers from the ports, begins the first year of a multi-year deal to be the primary sponsor on Busch’s Silverado for all five of his races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. In addition to Friday night’s race at Las Vegas, Busch’s five-race Truck Series schedule in 2023 will include: Circuit of the Americas on March 25, Martinsville Speedway on April 14, Kansas Speedway on May 6 and Pocono Raceway on July 22.

‘Rowdy’ is the winningest driver in Craftsman Truck series history with 62 career wins. He heads into 2023 with an active streak of winning at least one race in each of the last 10 Truck Series seasons (2013-2022), which is the longest streak in series history. The Las Vegas native has won 37.6% (62/165) of the Truck Series races he has entered in his career and has finished first or second in 56.7% (93/165). In addition to his Truck Series leading 62 wins, he also ranks first all-time among Truck Series drivers in driver rating (123.7), average finish (6.5) and is second in laps led (7,636). Over his last 26 Truck Series starts, Busch has an average finish of 3.2 while recording 14 wins and seven runner-up finishes.

At Las Vegas, Busch has three wins (2018 – 2020), 320 laps led, five top-five and six top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 2.7 across six Truck Series starts. He has finished runner-up to a KBM teammate in each of his last two starts, John Hunter Nemechek in the spring of 2021 and Chandler Smith last spring. With Busch’s three consecutive victories from 2018 to 2020 and Nemechek and Smith’s victories, a KBM driver has won the last five spring races at the 1.5-mile tri-oval.

With his return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series this weekend after a year-hiatus, Busch will be pulling triple duty for the first time since 2020. In August of 2010, he made history when he won the Truck Series, Xfinity Series and Cup Series races at Bristol Motor Speedway, becoming the only driver to sweep all three of NASCAR’s top three series at one track on the same weekend. He then repeated the feat in August of 2017.

Veteran crew chief Brian Pattie is calling the shots for the No. 51 team this year in his first season at KBM after spending the last 14 seasons atop the pit box in the NASCAR Cup Series. In the Cup Series, his drivers produced six wins, nine poles, 57 top-five and 131 top-10 finishes across 528 starts. In 2012, he guided Clint Bowyer to three victories and a runner-up finish in the Cup Series championship standings. In 2017, he guided Ricky Stenhouse Jr. to two wins and a berth in the playoffs. The Florida native has also recorded 11 wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and has one win across seven starts as a crew chief in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. This will be his first race atop the pit box for a Truck Series race at the Las Vegas. Pattie’s drivers posted two top-five and four top-10 finishes across 19 Cup Series starts at the Nevada Track. Pattie was the crew chief when Busch led 33 laps and finished second at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May of 2003 in his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series race. Overall, across seven starts that season, Busch collected two top-five and three top-10 finishes.

Billy Ballew Motorsports will serve as an associate sponsor on the No. 51 Friday at Las Vegas. You can find the lowest prices on used Cars, Trucks and SUV’s at www.BillyBallewMotorsports.com. Busch claimed his first career Truck Series victory driving the No. 51 Chevrolet at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May of 2005 and coined the nickname “Rowdy” as a tribute to Rowdy Burns in the film Days of Thunder while driving under the Billy Ballew Motorsports banner from 2005 to 2009. The last time that Busch won in the Truck Series driving a Chevrolet was with Ballew at Phoenix Raceway in November of 2007.

Kyle Busch, Driver Q&A:

Will the extra track time in the Xfinity car and Truck this weekend help the performance of your Cup car?
“So to me I think the Trucks have the most resemblance of today’s current Cup cars, where years ago I would say the Xfinity cars were very similar. You know, just running the Xfinity Series again and being able to get back in the Xfinity Series with Kaulig is going to be fun and I look forward to that. Being with a new team and a new group of guys and you know just the chance to go out there and help their program and develop them a little bit and give them some of my expertise. I love the Trucks as well, being with KBM and racing my own stuff there, so it’s going to be fun to get back to Vegas and go for the triple. Hopefully everything goes well and we can win one, two or all three. That would be cool.”

How did the partnership with Zariz Transport come about?
“I’m really excited to have Zariz as the primary sponsor on my No. 51 Silverado for my five races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the next few years. Samantha and I were introduced to Zariz through our foundation and immediately developed a great connection with them and we are honored that not only have they committed to the Truck Series sponsorship for multiple years, but they’ll also continue being the presenting sponsor of our Bundle of Joy Fund gala. We feel that introducing them to NASCAR consumers and people within the industry on the national stage through the Craftsman Truck Series makes perfect sense given the nature of their business and I can’t wait to make them a part of KBM’s winning tradition. The Founder and CEO, Yaakov Guzelgul, and his family will be in attendance on Friday night, so hopefully we can start this partnership off on the right foot by celebrating with them in victory lane at Las Vegas.”

Kyle Busch Craftsman Truck Series Career Highlights:

  • Busch has a total of 165 Craftsman Truck Series starts and is ranked first all-time in wins (62), driver rating (123.7) and average finish (6.5).
  • The 37-year-old driver has won 37.6% (62/165) of the NCTS races he has entered and finished first or second in 56.7% (93/165).
  • Busch stands alone as the leader in all-time career wins in NASCAR’s national touring series with 225 total victories. He has earned 61 NASCAR Cup Series wins, 102 NASCAR Xfinity Series wins, and 62 NCWTS wins.
  • In August of 2010, Busch made history when he won the NCTS, NXS and NCS races at Bristol Motor Speedway, becoming the only driver to sweep all three of NASCAR’s top three series at one track on the same weekend. He then repeated the feat in August of 2017.

KBM has won the last five spring races at the Nevada track, with Chandler Smith winning last year, John Hunter Nemechek in 2021 and owner-driver Kyle Busch winning three consecutive from 2018 to 2020. Erik Jones was victorious in the fall of 2014. Combined across the last five spring races, a KBM truck has been out front for 73% of the total laps (491/670).
  • KBM holds the Craftsman Truck Series records for most career wins (98) and most wins in a single season (14 in 2014). With his victory at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway last year, Corey Heim became the 18th different driver to win a Truck Series event for KBM. In addition to collecting a series-record seven Owner’s Championships, the organization has produced two championship-winning drivers: Erik Jones (2015) and Christopher Bell (2017).
  • With 40 victories, the No. 51 is the winningest number in KBM’s Truck Series fleet.

Chase Purdy- No. 4 Bama Buggies Silverado Craftsman Trucks Las Vegas Preview

Chase Purdy: Driver, No. 4 Bama Buggies Chevrolet

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Overview:
Event: Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200, Race 2 of 23, 134 Laps – 30/30/74; 201 Miles
Location: Las Vegas Motor Speedway (1.5-mile tri-oval)
Date/Broadcast: March 3, 2023, at 9 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR 90

‘Chase’n Checkers:
Chase Purdy will make his second start for Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) behind the wheel of the No. 4 Bama Buggies Silverado in Friday night’s Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The 23-year-old driver is in his third full-time season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and first with KBM. He enters Friday night’s race having totaled five top-10 finishes and 18 laps led across his 53 career Truck Series starts. He posted a career-best sixth-place result in 2021 at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. Purdy finished 16th in the Truck Series standings in 2022 after competing in 22 of the 23 events. He posted two top-10 finishes and nine laps led, with a season-best finish of seventh coming at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in October.

Purdy had a respectable debut for KBM in the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway. He posted the second fastest lap in the opening round of single-truck qualifying, but due to a flat tire incurred during his lap was unable to post a lap in the final round. Despite officially being recorded as the 10th starter, the No. 4 Chevrolet started at the back of the field per the NASCAR rules of making an unapproved adjustment when they replaced the flat tire. The team used pit strategy in the opening stage to get out front for Stage 2. Purdy would end the second stanza and in the second position before employing a strategy of falling to the back early in the Final Stage in an effort to avoid the big wrecks and be in a position to capitalize in the closing stages of the race. Fortunately, he missed two big wrecks. Unfortunately, shortly after missing the wrecks rain began to fall and the race would be deemed official with 79 of the 100 laps completed with Purdy in the 17th position.

In four prior Truck Series starts at Las Vegas, Purdy has compiled an overall average finish of 19.3, but in his last two has an average finish of 13.5. His best result was a 13th-place finish in the fall of 2021. The chassis he will be piloting on Friday has won the pole twice at Las Vegas. John Hunter Nemechek captured the pole and led 24 laps with KBM-56 in the spring race at Las Vegas last year, before being relegated to a 25th-place finish. He also won the pole for the fall race with it in 2021, where he led 33 laps before being relegated to a 33rd-place finish.

The Mississippi native is part of a new-look KBM that switched to the Chevrolet camp in the off-season with two full-time entries of its own and a technical alliance on REV Racing’s first-ever entry in the Truck Series. The manufacturer switch aligned with owner-driver Kyle Busch’s signing with Richard Childress Racing for 2023, one of the premier Chevrolet teams in the Cup Series. Across its 13 seasons with Toyota, KBM collected and amazing seven owner’s championships (2010, 2013 – 2017 and 2019), two driver championships (Erik Jones 2015 and Christopher Bell 2017) and a Truck Series-record 98 wins. Under the Toyota banner, KBM won the last five spring races at Las Vegas with Chandler Smith winning last year, John Hunter Nemechek in 2022 and owner-driver Kyle Busch winning three straight spring events at his hometown venue from 2018 to 2020.

Since becoming a full-time entry for KBM in 2015, the No. 4 truck has captured both of KBM’s driver championships and totaled 18 wins with five different drivers. The number has found victory lane for KBM in six of its seven seasons, excluding 2018. John Hunter Nemechek piloted the No. 4 to seven wins in his two seasons behind the wheel (2021 and 2022) before moving into a full-time ride in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for 2023.

Jimmy Villeneuve is atop the pit box for Purdy and the No. 4 Chevrolet team this season. Prior to being promoted to crew chief for the 2023 season, Villeneuve served as a Truck Chief at KBM since the 2017 season and in that role was a part of 18 wins, a driver’s championship with Christopher Bell in 2017 and the 2019 owner’s championship with the No. 51 team. Prior to joining KBM the New Hampshire native served as a truck chief at Athenian Motorsports in 2015 when the team won with John Wes Townley at Las Vegas. He was promoted to crew chief five races into the 2016 season. Friday night’s race will be Villeneuve’s first calling the shots for a race at Las Vegas.

Bama Buggies, your one-stop shop for all the biggest names in powersports and utility vehicles, will be the primary sponsor on Purdy’s No. 4 Chevrolet Friday night and for the majority of the events on the 2023 schedule. They are Central Alabama’s powersports experts, serving as an authorized dealer of Polaris, Slingshot, and Seadoo.

Chase Purdy, Driver Q&A:

Despite not having the result you wanted, how did everything go at Daytona in your first race with KBM?
“I was really pleased with the speed we had in our Bama Buggies Chevy and how well it handled. I think that in Stage Two we were up their mixing it up and really were able to show the speed we had in our truck. Really happy with how things went at Daytona and expecting to come to Las Vegas with the same speed and unload with a truck that handles well just like we did at Daytona.”

Do you enjoy racing at Las Vegas?
“I like Las Vegas, I like when you go somewhere that you can run multiple lanes and your not just stuck running one lane. It’s a very racy track and the restarts are crazy. It’s just a really fun place to race at, especially at night under the lights and I look forward to getting out there and seeing what we can do with our Bama Buggies No. 4 Chevy.

Talk about the opportunity to have Kyle as your teammate this weekend.
“Obviously he’s coming off a big win in the Cup Series, so I’m excited to work with him as a teammate in the Truck Series and hear what he has to say about the handling of his truck compared to what I’m feeling. I think it’s a really big opportunity for me to maybe learn some things that I need to do to be better since we’ll be unloading with trucks that are setup very similar.”

Chase Purdy Career Highlights:

  • Across 53 career Truck Series starts, has produced 18 laps led and five top-10 finishes. Posted career-best sixth-place result at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway in 2021
  • Finished 16th in Truck Series championship standings in 2022.
  • Finished fourth in the 2018 ARCA Menard’s Series championship standings after recording 84 laps led, 10 top-five and 14 top-10 finishes.
  • Earned the 2017 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East rookie of the year honors and finished fourth in the championship standings after posting four poles, 200 laps led, five top-five and eight top-10 finishes across 14 starts.
  • Won the prestigious Snowflake 100 Pro Late Model race at 5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla., in Dec. of 2018.

Chase Purdy’s No. 4 Chevrolet Silverado RST:

This chassis has two career victories across 16 starts, most recently with John Hunter Nemechek at Kansas Speedway last September. Nemechek also won with KBM-56 at Pocono Raceway in June of 2021. Nemechek won the pole at led 24 laps with this truck in the spring race at Las Vegas last year, before being relegated to a 25th-place finish. Notes of Interest

● Chase Briscoe will make his fifth NASCAR Cup Series start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Sunday’s Las Vegas 400. The driver of the Mahindra Tractors Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) is looking to turn around his season after finishes of 35th and 20th in the two opening points-paying events at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, respectively.

● Briscoe has a best finish of fourth earned during the Playoffs last October. Earlier in the season, in March 2022, he started fourth and was running inside the top-10 before an accident on lap 135 relegated him to a 35th-place finish. The following week, he rebounded in a big way by earning his first Cup Series victory on the mile oval at Phoenix Raceway.

● In March 2020, Briscoe earned his first Xfinity Series win of the season at Las Vegas, then returned in September to complete the sweep. He also made one NASCAR Truck Series start there in 2017, which resulted in a third-place finish.

● Mahindra Tractors has unveiled two new commercials to kick off its second season with the No. 14 team. Similar to last year, Mahindra’s television spots feature Briscoe and three-time Cup Series champion and SHR co-owner Tony Stewart. The first spot, Humble, aired during the Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The second, Mail Run, debuted during the Daytona 500 two weekends ago. Additional commercials are set to air during race broadcasts and on social media throughout the season.

Chase Briscoe, Driver of the No. 14 Mahindra Tractors Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing:

It’s been a frustrating start to the 2023 season for the No. 14 team. What has gone on and what needs to happen to get back to the kind of success you experienced last year?

“Well, I think the biggest thing is everyone has had a whole season with the NextGen car and an offseason to do extra sim work and preparation. Daytona was just an unfortunate situation with getting caught up in a wreck as we were cycling through green-flag stops. I felt like we had actually had a strong race, leading some laps, but the results don’t show that. Last weekend in Fontana, we had a few different things that we had to battle through and we got to a better place at the end. I’m not too concerned. We’re only two races into the season and we know what we’ve got to work on to get back on the right path. It’s only a matter of time before we put all those pieces together and we’re back up front racing for wins.”

With Kevin Harvick retiring at the end of the season and Aric Almirola approaching his final seasons, you are in a position to take over as the de facto leader within the SHR organization as the longest-tenured driver. Does a situation like that help you to prepare to be that guy from a leadership perspective?

“I think so. It’s hard to learn how to persevere if you don’t have obstacles to overcome. Going through a tough couple of races or a rough season teaches you how to work with the team and figure out a way through it. I pay attention to how Kevin does it and I’ve watched how Aric works with his guys. Our personalities are all very different, but I watch how they explain what they’re feeling in a car and how they work to get a point across. I’m trying to take in as much as I can while they are both here, but especially with Kevin around since he has been here for so long. When he’s gone, somebody is going to have to take over that leadership role. If it is me, I want to be prepared for that.”

Do you feel there are any competitors in the field who you’d consider drivers to beat at this early point in the season?

“I think everybody is capable. I think it’s such a wide-open pool right now that anybody can show up on any given week and take the win. You don’t know what everyone worked on in the offseason and I think we’re still learning this car. There’s really no advantage to be found, at least a big advantage, so that’s what makes the field so tight. That’s why one week you can see guys running up front and the next week they’re not there. I don’t think there’s any one team that you can even say is the team to beat because it’s wide open.”

LAS VEGAS SPEEDWAY NOTES

Friday, March 3 – NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, 9 p.m. ET (FS1)
Saturday, March 4 – NASCAR Xfinity Series, 4:30 p.m. ET (FS1)
Sunday, March 5 – NASCAR Cup Series, 3:30 p.m. ET (FOX)

The second leg of NASCAR’s western swing is scheduled for this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as all three top series will compete. Ford goes into the action with a combined 30 wins at LVMS (Cup, 14; NXS, 11; NCTS, 5).

BUESCHER AND KESELOWSKI IN TOP 10

Four Ford drivers are in the Top 10 of the NASCAR Cup Series standings heading into Sunday’s scheduled race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, including both drivers from Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing. Team Penske’s Joey Logano is second and Stewart-Haas Racing’s Kevin Harvick is fourth while the RFK duo of Chris Buescher and Brad Keselowski are sixth and 10th, respectively. Logano has posted consecutive Top 10 finishes to start the season (2nd at Daytona; 10th at AC) while Harvick (5th at AC), Buescher (4th at Daytona) and Keselowski (7th at AC) have one apiece.

VEGAS PROVES TO BE LOGANO’S BEST TRACK

Joey Logano has three career victories at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and those wins have helped make the track his best statistically on the circuit. Logano sports an 8.5 average start and finish in 18 career starts, including a victory in last season’s playoff race. In fact, it’s the only track in which he’s made more than 10 career starts where his average finish is in single digits. Besides his three victories, Logano has 7 top-5 and 12 top-10 finishes at LVMS since joining the circuit in 2009.

ROUSH RULES

There have been two RFK drivers who have posted consecutive NASCAR Cup Series victories at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Jeff Burton won in 1999 and 2000 while Matt Kenseth did it in his championship season of 2003 and 2004. In fact, RFK has been a force in both the NASCAR Cup and NASCAR XFINITY Series at the 1.5-mile facility. The organization has posted seven NCS wins and six NXS victories for a total of 13 overall, which includes back-to-back weekend sweeps in 1999 and 2000. In addition, RFK has three NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series triumphs.

SWEEP DELIGHT FOR KESELOWSKI

Brad Keselowski completed a weekend sweep in 2014 after taking the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR XFINITY Series events on consecutive days. Even though Keselowski led the most laps in the NCS race, he needed a little bit of luck and got it on the final lap when Dale Earnhardt Jr., who was in conservation mode, ran out of gas on the back straightaway. That enabled Keselowski to win going away and post the first of his six victories that season.

MARTIN LEADS FORD CHARGE

IN INAUGURAL VEGAS CUP EVENT

Ford took the checkered flag at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the inaugural race at the 1.5-mile facility on March 1, 1998 as Mark Martin led a manufacturer runaway that saw 13 of the top 14 finishers driving a Taurus. The win was the first for Taurus, which became the first full-time four-door entry in NASCAR, after Ford decided to use it in the NASCAR Cup Series starting with the 1998 season. Martin bested Roush teammate Jeff Burton by 1.605 seconds to win the Las Vegas 400 with Rusty Wallace, Johnny Benson and Jeremy Mayfield rounding out the top-five. The only non-Ford to finish in the top-10 was the late Dale Earnhardt, who was eighth.

HERBST OFF TO SOLID START

Riley Herbst has posted back-to-back Top-10 finishes to start the season for the second year in a row. He’s coming off a seventh-place effort at Auto Club Speedway after a sixth-place showing in the season-opener at Daytona. If you throw in his 10th-place run in the Daytona 500, Herbst has nothing but Top-10 runs in three overall starts in 2023.

BRISCOE COMPLETES VEGAS FIRST

Chase Briscoe became the first driver to win both NASCAR XFINITY Series races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway since the track began hosting two events a year in 2018. Briscoe, who achieved the feat in 2020, won the spring event, which had to be run over the course of two days due to rain, after leading a race-high 89 laps. The key to his victory, however, was the pit crew, which got Briscoe off pit road first and allowed him to lead the final 36 circuits to post his first win of the season. He followed that up in the 2020 playoff opener with a dominating performance that saw him lead 164-of-200 laps. Briscoe won all three stages and left the track with the points lead and a guaranteed spot in the Round of 8.

DEEGAN READY TO REBOUND

Hailie Deegan was a victim of circumstances in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season-opener at Daytona, getting caught up in a multi-truck accident on lap 29 that ended her day before the finish. This weekend, Deegan will be sporting a Screen to Speed liveried Ford F-150 as she supports a women’s racing initiative sponsored by Ford and Pennzoil. Women from all over the world have been qualifying through iRacing for a spot in the live Screen to Speed finale, where 20 females will battle at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday night. Deegan will be on hand for the live broadcast and the winner will earn a track day test with the Kelly Moss Race team, $15,000 and a Next Level Racing simulator.

SMITH GOING FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN

Zane Smith is in the same position he was a year ago at this time, coming off a victory in the season-opening NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway, as he goes for consecutive wins to start the year for the first time in his career. Smith nearly pulled it off last year, running second to winner Chandler Smith before being dropped to 36th after a post-race lugnut infraction.

This year’s BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 will take place from March 8-12 in Las Vegas. More information on the event for racers and spectators is available at TheMint400.com, or follow the event on Facebook and Instagram.
