Full of Energy: Bucked Up Energy Drink and its sister products will continue their role as the primary partner of Graf’s No. 07 Ford Mustang this weekend.

Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway is the 18th race of 2022 and 49th race overall in a multi-year, multi-race deal with the former ARCA Menards Series winner.

For the first time this year and in recognition of racing on the outskirts of Miami, Fla., the team will promote Bucked Up’s Miami flavor.

Party in the city where the heat is on, all night energy till the break of dawn. Welcome to Miami — Bienvenidos a Miami!

Let the strawberry, mango, and pineapple whisk you away from daily drudgery and drop you off at your dream destinations.

Sip that neon-berry bliss, feel the energy surging and listen.

Because in Miami, the music never ends — pop the tab and taste vacation.

About Bucked Up Energy: Bucked Up started in 2013 when twin brothers Ryan and Jeff Gardner started marketing a product called Deer Antler Spray. After selling thousands of bottles to GNCs nationwide, the company morphed into what is now Bucked Up, a full-fledged vitamins and supplements manufacturer.

The company has gone from its humble beginnings to becoming the No. 1 best-selling pre-workout brand that’s available in over 10,000 stores worldwide.

Plenty Of Other Bucked Up Products Available Too: Don’t forget that Bucked Up Energy now offers more than 10 quenching options, but several of their popular flavors include Rocket Pop, Gym ‘N’ Juice, Mango Tango and Pink Lemonade now include low-stim options.

Low-stim has the same innovative ingredients that make their OG formula so powerful for focus, mood, motivation and energy. Bucked Up made just one small change and they have been surprised by the resulting epicness.

Boasting a modest of 100mg of caffeine, Bucked Up Low-Stim delivers the same energy, focus, mood, motivation – while reducing the common side effects that come from too-much caffeine, jitters, sleeplessness and anxiety.

Stay Tuned: In two of the remaining three NASCAR Xfinity Series races this season, Graf and the SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt team will showcase two new Bucked Up Energy Drink flavors at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway on Oct. 22 and the penultimate race of the season at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on Oct. 29, 2022.

The Dead On Tools 250 at Martinsville will also feature a limited edition Bucked Up Energy Drink Halloween hero card to consign its spooktacular livery.

Thanks For Your Support: With more than 90 percent of the 2022 Xfinity Series season complete, Joe Graf Jr. and SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt would like to thank their associate marketing partners: AVOID, Bass Reaper Bait Company, CoverSeal, EAT SLEEP RACE Apparel, fgrACCEL, G-Coin, Gtechniq, HazHeart, Model Electronics and ShopRite for their continued support.

Motor Speedway Road Course, Graf and the SSGLRwJL team showcased the No. 07 Bucked Up Pink Lemonade Energy Drink Ford Mustang in the final road course race of the season.

Despite starting deep in the 38-car field, Graf swiftly maneuvered himself through the field and contended for a top-20 finish before being spun out late in the race.

With an array of yellow flags in the closing laps of the race, Graf’s determination put him back on the lead but ran out of laps to recover for a finish better than his 27th-place outing.

Sneaker Mania: Along with the adrenaline of the Motorsports competition, Joe Graf Jr. also has a vogue for hype sneakers. In his current collection, he owns and wears at least 90 limited edition sneakers – and his collection continues to grow every month.

The current estimated value of his collection tops $100,000.

From the Pit Box: Industry veteran Joe Williams is Joe Graf Jr.’s crew chief.

He will crew chief his 96th NASCAR Xfinity Series race as crew chief on Saturday afternoon and his fifth at the defining Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway.

Hello From The Other Side: Graf Jr. has a teammate at SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt. Veteran David Starr will drive the No. 08 Amptricity Ford Mustang on Saturday afternoon for his 19th start of the 2022 season.

Starr is set to make his 253rd career NASCAR Xfinity Series start and ninth at Homestead. His best Xfinity track finish occurred in the 2021 Contender Boats 250, where he finished 21st after starting 40th for Motorsports Business Management (MBM Motorsports).

Joe Graf Jr. Pre-Race Quotes:

On Homestead-Miami Speedway: “It’s a huge weekend for our team at Homestead-Miami Speedway. We have over 100 guests expected to be in attendance and I certainly want to go out and perform and deliver one of our strongest finishes of the season.

“I’m excited to also debut a new Bucked Up energy drink this weekend and I’m hoping as stout as it looks in person, it will be extremely fast on the race track.

“Homestead is one of those tracks that you have to hustle. You have to respect the track though otherwise; you can find yourself in trouble and out of the race.

“Hopefully, we can continue to unload with the raw speed we’ve shown over the past couple of months and build on that for qualifying and the race.

“With just three races left this season, I want to be as close to the front as possible.”

On Goals For Remainder of 2022: “There are about three weeks of racing left and we certainly want to make the best of it for everyone that supports our SS GreenLight Racing with Jeff Lefcourt team.

“Without question, I think it cannot be denied that our team has showcased speed throughout the season but we haven’t been able to execute on getting the finishes we think we deserved for a variety of reasons.

“The bigger picture is that we have continued to grow as a team and we have several race tracks over the couple of weeks that should allow us to have the opportunity to put our best foot forward.

“From now until the end of the season at Phoenix, I am determined to nail the execution so we can carry some momentum into the off-season and to the 2023 season.”

Boo Boo Dalton teams with Coltman Farms Racing, Lee Faulk Racing for Hickory’s Fall Brawl

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Columbia, S.C. (Oct. 21, 2022) – Ross ‘Boo Boo’ Dalton will have a little extra help on his side when he heads to Hickory Motor Speedway for the prestigious Fall Brawl on Nov. 12.

With sponsorship from Coltman Farms Racing, Dalton is set to pilot a car fielded by Lee Faulk Racing in the Fall Brawl’s Limited Late Model feature as he looks to claim his tenth overall victory on the 2022 season and his first at Hickory.

Dalton admitted he has still not fully processed the idea of competing for Lee Faulk Racing but knows his car will be one of the best on track during the Fall Brawl Limited Late Model feature and is eager to make the most of his time with the organization.

“I’m really excited to finally have an opportunity to race with those guys,” Dalton said. “We’ve learned a lot through Lee Faulk Racing. Michael [Faulk] is really excited about this and I’m just so thankful to have this chance.”

Dalton said that Coltman Farms Racing was one of the key catalysts behind his chance to drive for Lee Faulk Racing at Hickory.

Since joining MPM Marketing earlier this year, Coltman Farms Racing has been able to expand upon their mission towards supporting grassroots racers across several disciplines that fans could look up to as role models, with Dalton being among those that have received assistance from owner Brett Coltman.

Dalton expressed his gratitude towards Coltman and everything he has done to bolster his own racing program. He hopes to repay the favor by driving a Coltman Farms Racing sponsored car to victory lane in the Fall Brawl.

“To have another supporter as big as Brett is absolutely huge,” Dalton said. “One of the main reasons why we do what we do is to create a following. I have to thank Tonya [McCallister] for pairing us up and making us a great team.”

For Coltman, who has been enjoying a successful season in Dirt Late Model competition with Kenny Collins, he has accomplished nearly everything he set out to under the MPM Marketing banner.

The ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway was the first time Coltman had been a sponsor in an asphalt event, having placed his logos on the cars of Dalton and Michael Faulk. Coltman is honored to continue his relationship with each of them for the Fall Brawl, adding that Dalton and the Faulks perfectly exemplify all the qualities of great competitors.

“We couldn’t say no to the chance to support Boo Boo Dalton during the Fall Brawl at Hickory,” Coltman said. “Boo Boo has had an incredible year already, but he and Michael Faulk are fantastic role models that represent everything Coltman Farms Racing is about. I’m thankful for MPM Marketing providing Coltman Farms Racing another amazing opportunity to support such dedicated and ethical individuals.”

Having seen several drivers take a Lee Faulk Racing car to victory lane at Hickory over the years, Michael Faulk has every reason to believe Dalton will continue that trend in just a few short weeks.

When Dalton and MPM reached out to Lee Faulk Racing about putting a deal together with Lee Faulk Racing for the Fall Brawl, Michael knew Dalton was perfect for the car, adding that his versatility to get around any track in the region will make him one of the favorites to take home a checkered flag in a Coltman Farms Racing sponsored car.

“We are really excited to have Boo Boo racing with us in the Fall Brawl,” Michael said. “We’ve known him and his family for a long time. It’s really nice to see this deal come together and have him race in one of our cars. Boo Boo’s success speaks for itself, but Brett is an amazing guy too. What he does in motor sports is commendable and we’re honored to have him trust us.”

Despite his experience, Hickory is a track in which Dalton has only made a handful of appearances at. He knows Hickory will be more abrasive compared to other facilities but does not anticipate a tire conservation race with the Limited Late Model feature only covering a short distance.

Dalton believes the odds are in his favor for the Fall Brawl in a Lee Faulk Racing car and is determined to keep his stellar season going with his tenth win across nine different tracks.

“It’d be huge to finally check Hickory off the list,” Dalton said. “We’ve won just about everywhere we’ve raced, and we’ve been inside the Top 5 nearly every time we’ve gone to Hickory. Lee Faulk Racing has had so much success at that racetrack, so this is one of our better opportunities to mark this one off.”

Dalton would like to thank his parents, his crew, his girlfriend, Lee Faulk Racing, MPM Marketing and his loyal partners in Hudson Autoworks, Coltman Farms Racing, Routh Signs and Clark’s Automotive Machine Shop.

About Coltman Farms Racing:

Coltman Farms Racing, owned by Brett Coltman, is based in Georgia and fields a Dirt Late Model team that competes across the United States with veteran driver Kenny Collins. A long-time supporter of grassroots racing, Coltman’s goal when he started Coltman Farms Racing was to support drivers that fans could look up to as positive role models. Be sure to follow the Coltman Farms Racing Facebook page.

How No.99 GMC HUMMER EV Chip Ganassi Racing became the first reserve team to compete in an X Prix Final

A dramatic twist of events saw No.99 GMC HUMMER EV Chip Ganassi Racing enter the Final as first reserve in Chile. We caught up with drivers Kyle LeDuc and Sara Price following their rollercoaster of a Finals Day in the Atacama Desert.

As the five Antofagasta Minerals Copper X Prix finalists made their last preparations on the start line, No.99 GMC HUMMER EV Chip Ganassi Racing were in their garage, downcast as their championship title hopes were crushed following third place in Semi-Final 1.

However, after Rosberg X Racing [RXR] were ruled out of the Final due to a technical issue, LeDuc and Price were rushed into action, frantically changing into their overalls as they took their place as the first-ever reserve team to appear in a Final.

Walking into the most unlikely of surprises, No.99 GMC HUMMER EV Chip Ganassi Racing were characteristically straight into the thick of the action.

Strong drives from LeDuc and Price saw the American team claim a seemingly unthinkable second place, having been classified sixth just hours earlier.

Their joy was to be short-lived, though, as penalties accrued in the Final dropped them off the podium and down to fourth overall.

LeDuc said: “Even though there was a very slim chance of our GMC HUMMER EV team getting that call, we were still wanting to hold on to hope and remained ready just in case.

“The adrenaline was absolutely pumping once we got the call, but the team did a really great job of jumping into action. I was able to take a deep breath at the starting line and re-focus.

“Certainly, we were disappointed that the final official result didn’t reflect our second-place racing effort, but I’m very proud of the group and their efforts. We are still in the mix heading into the last race in Uruguay.

“We’re hoping that all the work we’ve put into. these two seasons will lead to huge results across the board.”

Price added: “We probably had about two minutes to get our gear on and then just scrambled, I have honestly never put a suit on that fast in my life! But yeah… talk about an emotional roller-coaster.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our team because it was a crazy day to say the least. The whole weekend was crazy, and our team took every chance we could and handled everything that was thrown at us.

“The first time in the championship’s history, I never thought that could happen. It definitely changes everything, and not just for us but for all the teams because RXR had quite a lead.”

The extra points gained ensured that the team remain in the championship hunt going into the finale in Uruguay, albeit with a 28-point deficit to leaders RXR.

Although a very slim possibility, anything can happen in Extreme as LeDuc and Price would attest to after their incredible Finals Day in Chile.

Find out if No.99 GMC HUMMER EV Chip Ganassi Racing claim a maiden championship triumph at the Season 2 finale, the Energy X Prix in Punta del Este, Uruguay, on 26-27 November.

Fujitsu, Toyota Systems leverage Fujitsu’s Quantum-Inspired Digital Annealer to streamline automobile production sequence

Project marks first application of quantum-inspired technology in Japan for automobile production

TOKYO, Oct 21, 2022 – (JCN Newswire) – Fujitsu Limited and Toyota Systems Corporation (hereinafter Toyota Systems) today announced the launch of a new automobile production instruction system at Toyota Motor Corporation’s (1) Tsutsumi plant leveraging Fujitsu’s Quantum-Inspired Digital Annealer technology (2).

The Digital Annealer offers users access to powerful combinatorial optimization problem-solving capabilities for challenges that prove difficult for conventional hardware, and Toyota Systems and Fujitsu previously used the technology in 2020 in a project to optimize supply chain and logistics network operations essential to support automobile production. The latest project represents the first use case in Japan in which Fujitsu’s Digital Annealer technology has been applied to streamline automobile production operations.

The new system enables efficient and high-speed solution searching by utilizing constraint processing technology to express complex business constraints in equations and inequalities, a proprietary technology available since the third generation of the Digital Annealer–the processing technology was developed by Fujitsu Research based on its long-time expertise in the manufacturing industry.

The new vehicle production instruction system will enable Toyota Motor Corporation to respond quickly to production fluctuations and also reduce the workload of its employees.

Moving forward, Toyota Systems and Fujitsu plan to expand the system to Toyota Motor Corporation’s other plants in Japan and, in the future, to Toyota Motor Corporation’s overseas plants.

From October 2022, Fujitsu will commercially launch its “Fujitsu Computing as a Service (below, CaaS)” service portfolio in Japan, which delivers advanced computing technologies such as the Digital Annealer and software technologies to regular commercial users, lowering the barrier to access high performance computing resources and technologies like AI. Fujitsu plans to roll-out the service globally to markets outside of Japan from fiscal 2023.

Through the new technology developed for this project, Toyota Systems aims to realize a safe, secure and comfortable mobility society by supporting Toyota Motor Corporation’s IT based business transformation.

Fujitsu is committed to providing optimal IT environments and solutions that meet customers’ diverse needs under its portfolio of global solutions to realize a sustainable world, “Fujitsu Uvance.”

Max Gutiérrez Returns to AM Racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway

HOMESTEAD, Fla.: In an 11th-hour agreement, former NASCAR Mexico Challenge Series champion with Escruderia | Telmex | Telcel, Max Gutiérrez will drive the No. 22 AM Technical Solutions Chevrolet Silverado RST for AM Racing in Saturday afternoon’s Baptist Health Cancer Care 200 at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway.

Gutiérrez will make his fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start of the season in the penultimate race of the year and his second start this year on an intermediate track.

Gutiérrez returns to the reins of AM Racing’s flagship No. 22 Chevrolet Silverado RST truck for the first time since racing at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway in July – and hopes to deliver the Statesville, N.C.-based team their fourth top-10 of the season with the Mexico City, Mexico pilot at the helm.

In June, Gutiérrez stormed to an eighth-place finishing after starting last in the Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway.

With more Truck Series experience padded to his resume since his visit to the Music City, Gutiérrez invades Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway hoping to shine in the Sunshine State.

“I cannot thank everyone on the AM Racing team and their partners enough for allowing me to drive this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway,” said Gutiérrez. “Without a doubt, Homestead will be one of the most crucial races of my young Truck Series career and I just want to step up to the plate and do my job well for everyone on my team and those around me who continue to support me.”

With Homestead-Miami Speedway neighboring the city of Miami, Fla., the South Florida race track has a rich history of attracting diverse race fans. Gutiérrez hopes Saturday afternoon is an opportunity to build his growing fan base.

“I have attended races at Homestead-Miami before and the vibe is magnificent,” he said. “The Homestead races also often attract race fans from around the world, including Mexico. I know that having a good finish at Homestead on Saturday is an opportunity to make my country proud and there’s nothing more I want as a driver than to satisfy everyone who makes my dream possible.

“We will also have a lot of guests and potential marketing partners for the future on-hand at Homestead, so I’m putting a lot of pressure on myself to go out there and perform. I know I’m capable of doing that and look forward to the challenges that await me in my Homestead debut.”

Despite having zero laps of prior experience at Homestead, Gutiérrez is leaning on his veteran AM Racing team to help him adapt to the unique driving characteristics that the 1.5-mile track requires.

“I’m taking the same approach to Homestead that I did for Nashville,” added Gutiérrez.

“The team was able to bring me a fast truck and even though we had to start the race at the rear of the field, I was quickly able to learn the track and adjust my driving style to an approach that allowed us to press the attack on the field and not only pass a lot of trucks but earn a top-10 finish.

“I’d like nothing more than to leave Homestead with the same kind of momentum that we earned at Nashville and carry it over to what I hope will be an influential and busy 2023 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series season.”

Veteran crew chief Jamie Jones will call the shots for Gutiérrez. The pairing has been together not only for Gutiérrez’s three prior Truck Series races this season, but the Truck Series winning crew chief also worked with the teenager in the ARCA Menards Series this season.

The two paired for the superspeedway races at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway respectively. At Talladega, Gutiérrez impressed when he produced an impressive 10th-place finish after starting 24th.

Expert spotter and former Truck Series racer Tony Raines will guide the 19-year-old driver from up above.

“We are thrilled to continue to be a part of Max’s next chapter in making the transition to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and taking on Homestead this weekend,” said AM Racing team principal Kevin Cywinski.

“Through our great relationship with Rette Jones Racing Development, we have been able to have some success with Max this year and we look forward to continuing his steady progression and success in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series not only at Homestead this weekend, but into the future too.”

Since 2022, Gutiérrez has participated in three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races, earning a career-best eighth-place finish at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway in June 2022. Overall, the Mexican driver has maneuvered an average finish of 18.3.

In 11 career ARCA Menards Series East starts, Gutiérrez has one win, three top-five and six top-10 finishes and hoists a series’ average finish of 9.3 over three years.

In seven career premier ARCA Menards Series starts, he has one top-10 and carries a series’ average finish of 16.0 over three years.

Practice begins on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. with qualifying to follow at 4:30 p.m. The 36-truck field will take the green flag on Saturday, October 22, shortly after 1:00 p.m. with live coverage on FOX Sports 1 (FS1), the Motor Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90. Track Your Bike using GPS Trackers: Prevent Bike thefts

Photo by Jordan Brierley on Unsplash

Using bikes for commuting is a cost-efficient and eco-friendly method to travel. However, the predicament of bike theft is a threat to most bike owners.

Bike theft has become an increasingly common offense. Over 2 million bikes are lost every year to bike theft. It causes people to deter from biking, and they often overlook its environmental and economic advantages.

Because of its unchallenging nature, bike theft has doubled in the last 20 years. Bikes are one of the easiest targets- they are lightweight, easy to carry, have no complicated mechanisms, and can be used easily.

To make this worse- the number of bike owners registering their bikes is less than 1 percent. It makes locating stolen bikes almost impossible.

Unregistered bikes are difficult for police to retrieve. The offenders cannot be punished through the law as well. Only 1 out of 5 people report their bike theft.

What Measures Can You Take To Prevent Your Bike From Being Stolen?

Of course, by adopting preventive measures, you can maximize the safety of your bikes.

  • Buy a high-quality lock for your bike. We recommend buying a U-Shaped lock. It will make it impossible for a thief to ride your bike away.
  • Always find safe parking spots. Park it at a sturdy place or against any solid objects.
  • Always park your bike under the view of a CCTV camera. Thieves are less likely to steal your bike if it is parked under a surveillance camera.
  • Most bike owners do not register their bikes, which makes it harder for stolen bikes to be located. Therefore, please register your bike as soon as you buy it.
  • Just like car insurance, you can also get bike insurance. It can cover your financial losses in case your bike gets stolen.
  • You can also adopt additional measures for maximum security, such as chains and padlocks.

Why Should You Use A GPS Tracker For Your Bike?

GPS trackers use satellite technology to get accurate and live location updates. You can get the exact location with the difference being not over 2 to 3 meters. Some companies offer GPS bike trackers with exclusive features to prevent bike theft.

Bluetooth Or GPS Tracker?

You can find two options in the market. Bluetooth trackers are cheaper and can attract you at first. But don’t let the price cheat you.

When you look for protection facilities, you will also find Bluetooth trackers with subpar services. The connectivity of the Bluetooth system reaches only 400 ft away. It renders their expensive purchase worthless in most situations. GPS systems do not suffer from these shortcomings and provide the best functionality in the market.

So, when you have the choice, go for the GPS tracker- it is a little more experience than the Bluetooth tracker but will benefit you more from the get-go. Also, another unspoken advantage of the GPS tracker is- you can use it for multiple purposes and vehicles. If you buy the right GPS tracker, you can use it for various purposes. So, do not be swayed by the cheap cost of a BlueTooth tracker. Investing in a GPS tracker is a financially sound and practical decision to make.

Trucking Industry’s Transportation Challenges

It’s no secret that semis help keep the world up and running. In fact, reports show that big rigs transport at least 70 percent of goods these days. Without the trucking industry, store shelves would be bare, and people would be facing quite a few hardships. Of course, the trucking industry is dealing with a range of hardships of its own right now as well. Truckers are struggling to meet the growing demands of businesses and consumers.

Exploring Challenges in the Trucking Industry

Those on the outside looking in may not be immediately aware of all the struggles currently plaguing the trucking sector. It’s undergoing continual changes. Though some of those changes are meant to improve matters for the industry, they’re also creating an array of problems. At the same time, they’re potentially driving up the cost of insurance for a semi truck and even making coverage more difficult to acquire.

Stringent Drive Time Regulations

Strict regulations are among the most significant hurdles in the trucking industry. Drivers are held to exacting standards when it comes to hours of service and rest periods. Those regulations are designed to foster drivers’ health and the safety of others on the roads. Though the regulations are essential, they can also cause numerous delays.

In the old days, drivers could sometimes get away with doctoring their log books. Today, though, that’s not quite the case. Modern truckers are required to use electronic logging devices. Those devices keep track of drive times and other factors to ensure drivers adhere to regulations. As is the case with all technology, though, they pose problems.

Traffic Accidents

Traffic accidents also pose problems for the trucking industry. Countless people fail to observe the rules of the road, placing themselves and truck drivers in danger. In many cases, even if the driver of a passenger vehicle is at fault in a trucking accident, the truck driver is the one who is ultimately held responsible. That’s driving up the costs of operation for trucking companies and causing undue struggles for drivers.

A common cause of accidents in this industry is due to cargo not being properly secured. As drivers are under increasing pressure to meet deadlines, they may not have enough time to properly secure their cargo, leading to accidents and other issues on the road. Lots of trucking companies have started working with side loading trailers and bodies experts to ensure that their cargo is properly secured and to reduce the risk of accidents on the road. Outsourcing this task to professionals can help alleviate some of the stress and burden on truck drivers while also promoting safety on the roads.

Driver Shortage

Additionally, the trucking industry is experiencing a significant shortage of drivers. According to a recent report from the American Trucking Associations, there’s currently a deficit of 80,000 drivers. That figure is expected to double within the next few years. Efforts are underway to draw new drivers to the industry, but it has been a slow process.

To make matters even more complicated, those who are interested in acquiring their CDLs face numerous hardships. Becoming a commercial driver is notoriously difficult. Even people who are more than capable of driving a semi safely and effectively may fail their driving tests. With this, Transport Training Centres of Canada provides comprehensive training programs for individuals interested in pursuing a career in commercial driving services.

DMV testers have been known to fail prospects before they even get to prove their knowledge and driving abilities. They’ve been failed for simple factors like not touching air conditioning vents during their pre-trip inspections or failing to check their seat belts for frayed edges. Because of that, countless capable and experienced drivers are being turned away.

At the same time, those who pass their driving tests must pass annual DOT physicals to retain their CDLs. Common medical conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes can render even the most competent drivers ineligible for a commercial driver’s license. Many people who could have a hand in mitigating the shortage are being denied their CDLs as a result.

Looking Ahead

Those are some of the challenges the trucking industry is currently facing. They’re expected to grow even more problematic in the years to come. Many industry experts insist regulations, consistency in testing requirements, and other changes will have to take place to mitigate those issues. When that happens, the trucking sector may begin to function more smoothly.

GREER, S.C. (October 2, 2022) — For enthusiasts of BMW’s high-performance M cars, it was a dream weekend in Greer, South Carolina, October 14-16, as the 50th anniversary of BMW Motorsport was celebrated at the BMW CCA Foundation’s The Ultimate Driving Museum. The event also highlighted how Greer has evolved into a thriving Upstate community, with growth in local business, Greer real estate, and tourism centered around BMW’s presence.

Over three days, hundreds of attendees observed BMW Motorsport’s golden jubilee with a stunning museum exhibit, a star-studded panel discussion featuring Indy 500 winner Eddie Cheever and former BMW factory racer Bill Auberlen, high-speed driving events, and a festive Cars and Coffee.

Organized by the BMW Performance Center, the BMW CCA Foundation, and the BMW Car Club of America’s M Chapter, the M Anniversary Celebration kicked off on Friday, October 14, at the Foundation’s The Ultimate Driving Museum. The current exhibit, The Power of M, celebrates the 50th anniversary of BMW Motorsport with 26 rare and significant vehicles from M and Motorsport. The exhibit includes limited-edition cars like the E30 M3 Cecotto, the E46 M3 CSL, and the E90 M3 CRT. Other noteworthy racing machines included the first 3.0 CSL to enter a race in Europe, an original M1 Procar raced by Toine Hezemans, a multi-time endurance champion Z4 M GT, the first E36 M3 GT raced by Team PTG in IMSA, and the Daytona-winning M8 GTE campaigned by BMW of North America Team RLL.

On Friday evening, the BMW CCA Foundation hosted a cocktail hour at the BMW Zentrum followed by a panel discussion celebrating the achievements of BMW Motorsport’s founding director Jochen Neerpasch. Featuring special guests Eddie Cheever and Bill Auberlen, the discussion was moderated by BMW of North America’s Tom Plucinsky. Although Neerpasch was unable to attend in person, he sent his regards via a video from Germany, which the Foundation complemented with additional footage about his career and his continuing enthusiasm for the CSL and M1 created under his direction.

In a rare public appearance, Cheever entertained all in attendance with his recollections of his time as a member of the original BMW Junior Team created by Neerpasch in 1977. With low-key humor and genuine appreciation, Cheever described training with the Motorsport team in St. Moritz and battling with his teammates in Formula 2 and touring car racing before moving on to Formula 1 and IndyCar racing.

“I am here to say thank you because Mr. Neerpasch and BMW set me on the path to becoming a professional race-car driver,” said Cheever.

Auberlen is well-known as BMW’s all-time winningest driver, as well as the winningest driver overall in IMSA racing. In conversation with Cheever, he offered new insights into the technical and operational changes he’s experienced over a 30-year career as a professional racer.

“It is an honor for me to carry Mr. Neerpasch’s standards forward for BMW Motorsport,” said Auberlen.

As a special bonus, attendees had the chance to win a number of valuable prizes drawn at random. Continental Tire donated four M Schools at the BMW Performance Center, plus a set of four Continental tires. Other prizes included a set of custom-made CocoMats, a hardcover and softcover copy of The Power of M exhibit book donated by Hagerty, and Adrian Mitu art prints signed by Cheever and Auberlen, to name just a few.

On a warm and sunny Saturday morning, the BMW Performance Center hosted a high-performance driving school, followed by an afternoon of exhibition laps featuring several cars borrowed from The Power of M exhibit. Guests could sign up for hot laps in BMW of North America’s classic race cars: the Z4 GTLM, E92 M3 GT, and Stars and Stripes E46 M3 GTR. The latter was driven by Auberlen, who had raced it to an historic win at Petit Le Mans in 2001.

Organized by the Performance Center’s Mike Renner, the on-track festivities allowed enthusiasts to see nearly every M car built over the last 50 years circulating on the Performance Center’s road course. All the M5s were represented, as were M3s of every generation and description. Several rare race cars made an appearance, too, including a pair of ex-BMW Motorsport CSLs, the Alpina-built Levi’s CSL, the ex-factory E30 M3 raced by Ray Korman for BMW of North America, Bimmerworld Racing’s spectacular Pikes Peak hillclimb car, and the ex-Turner Motorsport tube-framed M6 racer. For those who like their M vehicles with two wheels, Nate Kern demonstrated the abilities of BMW’s latest M1000RR superbike.

On Sunday morning, a casual Cars and Coffee allowed guests to wind down the weekend in easy camaraderie, checking out a number of new and classic M cars at BMW CCA headquarters.

Sponsors for the event included The Tire Rack, Continental Tire, FCP Euro, BMW Value Services, The Werk Shop, CocoMats, BMW of North America, Century BMW, Hagerty, Enthusiast Auto Group.

The Ultimate Driving Museum will continue to celebrate BMW Motorsport’s 50th anniversary with The Power of M exhibit through late January 2023, while the BMW Performance Center offers its M schools and other driving events year-round.
