Toyota to End Vehicle Manufacturing in Russia

Toyota City, Japan, Sept 23, 2022 – (JCN Newswire) – Toyota has decided to end vehicle production at its Saint Petersburg plant in Russia.

On March 4 we had to suspend manufacturing operations at our plant in Saint Petersburg due to the interruption in supply of key materials and parts. Since then, we have been closely monitoring the situation and evaluating the future sustainability of our business in Russia.

During this period we have fully retained our workforce and ensured our facility was ready to re-start production if the circumstances allowed. However, after six months, we have not been able to resume normal activities and see no indication that we can re-start in the future.

The decision to terminate production of Toyota vehicles in Russia is not one that we have taken lightly. Over the last 80 years we have developed our business and our brand with the support of stakeholders around the world. We must now act in a way that allows us to protect the values and principles that our predecessors built up and be confident that we can pass them on to the next generation.

We have also determined that our operations in Moscow need to be optimized and restructured–with the clear objective of retaining an effective organization to continue supporting the retail network in providing ongoing service to existing Toyota and Lexus customers in Russia.

We would like to thank our employees for their hard work and loyalty. In recognition of their valued contribution, we will be offering them assistance for re-employment, re-skilling and well-being, including financial support above legal requirements.

AUSTIN DILLON QUOTE:

What are your thoughts on Texas Motor Speedway?

“Texas Motor Speedway has always been a strong track for me. I think as the surface wears out, Texas could become a better race. It just needs to lose some more grip in order to make the racing more exciting. The track has so much grip now. The banking has changed a lot from the old track to the new track. The track is fun to race because it’s so different on both ends. You have one end that’s very banked and has high speeds, and then you have a hard end where you have to get turned and get back on the gas. I’m looking forward to going there and trying to get a win with our True Velocity Chevy.”

This Week’s Lenovo Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at Texas Motor Speedway … Tyler Reddick will be making his fourth NASCAR Cup Series start this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. The driver of the Lenovo Chevrolet has three previous Cup Series starts at Texas earning two top-10 finishes, highlighted by a second-place finish behind teammate Austin Dillion in 2020, giving Richard Childress Racing a one-two finish. He grabbed a ninth-place finish in the 2021 fall event at the 1.5-mile speedway. Earlier this season, Reddick won the pole for the NASCAR All-Star Open at Texas. In NASCAR Xfinity Series competition, Reddick has three top-five finishes in six starts. Earlier this season he won the NASCAR Xfinity Series event Texas, his 10th career victory in the series. Reddick has made six Truck Series starts at Texas, winning the pole for the 2014 fall event and racking up four top-five finishes. Reddick enters Texas 13th in the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings.

About Lenovo … Lenovo’s story has always been about shaping computing intelligence to create a better world. TYLER REDDICK QUOTES:

What did you learn at the All-Star Race that you know you have to be better at when you return to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend?

“We just can’t be bottoming out on the internal stops on the Next Gen car. The last time we were at Texas we had a really fast Lenovo Chevrolet but I couldn’t run the second lane through Turns 3 and 4. And when it came down to it in that final segment of the All-Star Open, I told myself I have to get through Turns 3 and 4 wide open to have a run at Daniel Suarez and unfortunately we crashed. It really limits our options on how we race other cars throughout the day if we’re only able to go through the bottom of 3 and 4 and not in the second and third lanes. We’re working on ways to get around those issues and see what we can find and what we can make better. Our car had speed so we just have to figure out a way to make it through that part of the racetrack.”

Any reason non-playoff drivers won all three races in the opening round of the Playoffs and do you think the trend might continue?

“This Next Gen car has shown that you have to execute all race long. It always seemed like the Playoff drivers and teams get locked-in this time of year and they can just take it to a different level and really make things happen. This is a new car, so we’re all trying to squeeze out every last detail. I think drivers and teams that aren’t in the Playoffs are trying to show they deserve to stay where they’re at in their respective organizations. You have to be perfect all race long and that’s truly a difficult thing, especially at a track like Bristol. I’m not surprised by so many different winners but I thought by this time of year it would be trending back in the direction that it always has been. I certainly think Texas could be another race where we have a non-playoff driver win.”

This Week’s Whelen Engineering Chevrolet Camaro SS at Texas Motor Speedway … Sheldon Creed will be making his second NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Texas this weekend. The driver of the Whelen Chevrolet made his first start in May at the 1.5-mile speedway, where he was credited with a 21st-place finish. Creed has six starts at Texas in the NASCAR Truck Series including a dominating victory in October of 2020. Creed won after starting on the pole and led 131 of 152 laps and finished with an average running position of 1.18. His other top 10 was a sixth-place finish in 2019. He enters the Texas race 14th in the NASCAR Xfinity Series driver standings with three top-five and 10 top-10 finishes.

SHELDON CREED QUOTE:

We’re heading to Texas Motor Speedway for the second time this season. What’s your mindset for the race?

“My mindset hasn’t really changed since the beginning of the season. It’s always been to go out there, put together a good race and win. It was a bummer last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway to be running as well as we were and not making the Playoffs, but I’m so proud of how hard we ran during that race. We were fighting so hard to be up front and it really showed. People know we’re here and Playoffs or not, we’re going out there to win. Once this team puts together a whole race from start to finish, we’re going to get that first win and more after that. I’m just going into Texas knowing that I need to take as many notes as possible during practice, I need to qualify well and once the race starts, just give it everything we’ve got.”

This Week’s Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet Camaro SS at Texas Motor Speedway … Austin Hill will make his fourth NASCAR Xfinity Series start Saturday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway. The driver of the Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet started third and finished fifth in May at Texas, his best finish of three career starts at the track. Hill made 10 starts in NASCAR Truck Series competition at Texas, claiming a best finish of second-place in 2020 among four top-10s. He punched his ticket to the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs with his win in the season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway and added another win at Atlanta Motor Speedway in July. Hill enters the first round of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs as the sixth seed with 10 top-five and 16 top-10 finishes.

Sunoco Rookie of the Year … Austin Hill officially clinched NASCAR Xfinity Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors after last weekend’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Hill joins a long list of prestigious winners including fellow RCR drivers Kevin Harvick (2000) and Austin Dillon (2012).

AUSTIN HILL QUOTE:

Welcome to the Playoffs! It’s the frst race of the Round of 12 and we’re heading to Texas, a track that you’ve seen success at before. What are your thoughts on Saturday’s race?

“Yeah, I’m really pumped about the Playoffs and starting out at Texas. Honestly, we’ve got some really good tracks coming up for our team. Texas will be a good one and we’ve run really well on road courses and superspeedways so I think this round will be pretty good for us. We’ve just got to focus on our race and stay out of other people’s messes. We had a really solid day in Bristol; I wish we got the win, but now we have a lot of momentum on our side for this weekend. My team has been bringing me fast racecars every weekend so we’ll have that on our side and will go out there and strategize as much as we can. I’m excited and really looking forward to putting up a fight in these Playoff races.”

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Looks Forward to Another Returning Classic

2022 GR YARIS Rally1 HYBRID

TOKYO, Sept 23, 2022 – (JCN Newswire) – The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team makes its first trip to Rally New Zealand determined to compete for the top positions when the event’s popular gravel roads return to the world stage for round 11 of the 2022 FIA World Rally Championship on September 29-October 2.

Keen to look forward after a disappointing weekend on the rough and rocky roads of Acropolis Rally Greece, the team heads to New Zealand with a lead of 63 points in the manufacturers’ championship while Kalle Rovanpera leads the drivers’ championship by 53 points and has his best opportunity yet to clinch his first title if he can add eight more points to his advantage.

Joining Rovanpera and Elfyn Evans – who make their Rally New Zealand debuts – will be reigning world champion Sebastien Ogier, who finished a close second on his previous visit to New Zealand in 2010 and returns to the team’s line-up for the final three rounds of the season. Takamoto Katsuta will be another New Zealand first-timer in his TGR WRT Next Generation entry.

Back on the WRC calendar after 10 years away, Rally New Zealand is famed for fast and flowing stages that wind their way through the stunning scenery of the country’s North Island. The smooth gravel roads are characterised by their pronounced camber which drivers can use to carry more speed through corners.

The rally is based in New Zealand’s largest city Auckland, with the service park located on its waterfront and the opening stage to take place in the Pukekawa Auckland Domain park on Thursday evening. Friday then features more than half of the rally’s competitive distance with 158.56 kilometres to be driven across two loops of classic stages to the south around Raglan, starting with the iconic Whaanga Coast which is followed by two stages around Te Akau. A tyre fitting zone in Raglan separates the two loops, rather than a full service. Saturday takes place to the north of Auckland with two more loops of three stages run either side of service, while Sunday is made up of two repeated stages on the city’s eastern side, with the second pass of the purpose-built Jack’s Ridge as the rally-ending Power Stage.

Quotes:

Jari-Matti Latvala (Team Principal)
“Personally I am really looking forward to going back to New Zealand and I think it’s a rally that our team can look forward to as well. Greece was of course disappointing for us and there are lessons we can take from there to be stronger on similar rallies in the future. But Rally New Zealand is a very different gravel rally. The surface is smoother, the roads are fast and flowing, and the camber makes it feel like you are dancing with the car. The roads are amazing and you don’t find them anywhere else in the WRC. I had the pleasure to win there myself in 2010, actually in a very close finish with Sebastien. For the rest of our drivers it will be a new challenge but I think they will all enjoy those roads and I’m confident we can be fighting for the victory once again.”

Sebastien Ogier (Driver car 1)
“After a nice break it’s exciting to be getting back in my GR YARIS for these three events to end the season. Rally New Zealand is one of the rallies I really wanted to do this year. I was there once before in 2010 and I have mostly good memories; it was a very close fight until the final corners when a spin handed the win to Jari-Matti. At the time it was hard to take but thankfully I could score my first WRC win just a few weeks later. The rally itself is beautiful with some of the best roads in the world. After this break it won’t be easy to get back in the rhythm right away, but like always I will try to compete for the victory and help the team to the best possible result.”

Elfyn Evans (Driver car 33)
“It’s going to be exciting to finally have the chance to compete in New Zealand for the first time. I’ve heard many great things about the event and especially about the roads and how rewarding they are to drive. So if what everybody says is true then I’m sure we’re going to have a lot of fun there and hopefully we can have a good rally. It’s never easy to prepare for a new event like this, particularly because we’re not able to test outside of Europe, but within the team we do at least have some previous experience from New Zealand, not least from Jari-Matti and Seb. We’ve also been having a look through the archives for old videos of the stages just to get an idea of what we’re likely to face.”

Kalle Rovanpera (Driver car 69)
“It will be really interesting to go to Rally New Zealand. I have only heard good things about the country and the rally and how nice the roads are. To prepare we have been watching whatever videos we can to get an overview of how the stages are and to understand what we might need from the car before we get there. Recent rallies have not been ideal for us but we know what we need to improve and we are working hard to have more pace and be more comfortable. Again we will be opening the road in New Zealand but hopefully we can have good speed, enjoy the event and finish with a good result.”

Petty GMS Race Preview: Texas Motor Speedway II

Ty Dillon, No. 42 Black Rifle Coffee Company Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

  • Dillon at Texas Motor Speedway: Over the course of his NASCAR Cup Series career, Ty Dillon has started in nine points paying races at Texas Motor Speedway. In 2018, Dillon earned his best finish at the track, mustering a 13th place result.

No stranger to TMS, Dillon has also made 10 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the track, earning one Top-five and three Top-10 finishes with a series/track best of fifth position. In NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition, Dillon’s rep sheet at the track is very stout. In 2013, he led 130 laps en route to his second-career victory in the series. In five truck starts, the veteran has never finished worse than seventh, posting four Top-fives and five Top-10 finishes.

  • Back In Black (Rifle): Dillon’s No. 42 Chevrolet will see some familiar colors grace the quarter panels at Texas, as Black Rifle Coffee Company returns as his primary partner this weekend. Sunday’s EchoPark Automotive 500 will mark the seventh time that the coffee giant has sponsored Dillon’s Camaro this year, with the most recent outing coming at Nashville Superspeedway back in June.
  • About Black Rifle Coffee Company: Black Rifle Coffee Company is a Veteran-founded coffee company serving premium coffee to people who love America. Founded in 2014 by Green Beret Evan Hafer, Black Rifle develops their explosive roast profiles with the same mission focus they learned while serving in the military. BRCC is committed to supporting Veterans, active-duty military, first responders and the American way of life. With every purchase made, they give back.

To learn more about BRCC, visit www.blackriflecoffee.com, follow BRCC on social media, or subscribe to Coffee or Die Magazine’s daily newsletter at https://coffeeordie.com/presscheck-signup.

  • Cancer Heroes: At Texas Motor Speedway, Ty Dillon will be partnering with the Martin Truex, Jr. Foundation in their “Honor a Cancer Hero” initiative. Above the door of Ty’s No. 42 Chevrolet will feature the name of Natalie Lyda, who was nominated as part of the program. Mrs. Lyda put up a long fight for her cancer battle, but unfortunately passed away from the terrible disease. She was heavily involved in her hometown of Atlanta, GA community for many years, and her impact continues to shine through many contributions. Her family specifically chose Ty to honor her name, because he was her favorite Fantasy NASCAR driver, who “never let her down”.
  • From the Drivers Seat: Dillon’s thoughts on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:

“I’m looking forward to heading to Texas this weekend with my No. 42 Petty GMS team. We have been working on our intermediate package and I believe this weekend should be fun to see how some of these changes play out on track. Ever since the surface was reconfigured a few years ago, it has presented us drivers with such a challenging course to attack. Hopefully, the use of the resin will help promote some good passing opportunities, because the speeds are up and clean air is always king at this place. I’m excited to welcome our friends at Black Rifle Coffee Company back onboard our Camaro, and hope to give everyone a good run for 500 miles in the Lone Star state.”

Erik Jones, No. 43 FOCUSfactor Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

  • Jones at Texas Motor Speedway: With seven races remaining in the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, teams now head west to Texas Motor Speedway.

When teams unload this weekend, Erik Jones will make his 11th Cup Series start at the Fort Worth track. In his previous 10 starts at the track, Jones has three top-five finishes, six top-10 finishes and has led 112 laps. Jones has scored a best finish of fourth on three occasions (Spring 2018, Fall 2018, Spring 2019).

In the Xfinity Series, Jones has six starts with three wins and all six finishes in the top four. In 2015, in just his ninth-career start in the series, Jones scored his first Xfinity Series win by starting from the pole and leading 79 of 200 laps to score the victory. In 2017 Jones again started from the pole and led 142 of 200 laps to earn his second Xfinity Series win at the track.

With three starts in the Truck Series, Jones has one win and three top-15 finishes. Jones found victory lane in 2015 when he started the Truck Series race from the fifth position and led 117 of 147 laps.

  • Honoring Heroes: This weekend, Erik Jones will carry two heroes on his No. 43 Chevy as part of the Martin Truex Jr Foundation and The NASCAR Foundation’s ‘Honor A Cancer Hero’ program.

On the driver side of the No. 43 Chevy, Cancer Survivor Larry Leonard will ride along with Jones. Leonard was nominated by his son John Leonard, and he chose Jones because the family is from Montrose, Michigan and Jones is their hometown, local NASCAR driver.
On the passenger side of the No. 43 Chevy, Mary Hankins will ride along with Jones. Hankins passed away from cancer and was nominated by her son Brain Hankins. Jones was chosen because the Hankins family, especially Mary, are long time fans of the Petty family and what they symbolize. Brain named Mary as his hero for many reasons, but most importantly because while her cancer fight was short and brief, she faced it with class, dignity, and humor. She showed her son how to live life to the fullest, even in the hardest of times. One quote Brian said Mary often reminded him of was one Richard Petty had repeated, “Don’t put a question mark where God has put a period.”

  • Focused on Winning: FOCUSfactor will serve as the primary partner on Jones’s Chevrolet Camaro for Sunday’s race at Texas Motor Speedway.
  • About FOCUSfactor: FOCUSfactor is sold at America’s leading retailers such as Costco, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS, The Vitamin Shoppe and Amazon.com. FOCUSfactor, America’s leading brain health supplement, is a nutritional supplement that includes a proprietary blend of brain supporting vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other nutrients. In December 2012, the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued US Patent 8,329,227 covering FOCUSfactor’s proprietary formulation “for enhanced mental function”. The issuance of the patent marked one of the few times a patent has been issued for a nationally branded nutritional supplement. FOCUSfactor is clinically tested with results demonstrating improvements in focus, concentration and memory in healthy adults.
  • From the Driver’s Seat: “Texas was a tough race for us during the All-Star race. We got voted in by the fan vote and just really struggled all night. We were on a path that I feel like wasn’t working with our mile-and-a-half program at that point. I think we’ve gotten it quite a bit better and know what we need to do better for that race coming back. Hopefully those things will play out for us. I like Texas a lot. I’ve been able to win a hand full of races there in the Xfinity Series and the Truck Series, so I want to get strong there in the Cup car and contend for a win with our FOCUSfactor Chevy.”

Tokenproof added to RaceDayNFT.com ahead of Texas Motor Speedway’s NASCAR Playoff Weekend Sept. 24-25

  • More than a dozen Texas fans can receive experience upgrades Sunday by using Tokenproof.
  • Tokenproof provides verifiable ownership credentials for NFT purchasers.
  • Visit RaceDayNFT.com for more details.

FORT WORTH, Texas (Sept. 22, 2022) – Speedway Motorsports and Gigantik have introduced an exciting component to its digital marketplace for race fans in time for the upcoming NASCAR Playoff Weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.

Tokenproof, which facilitates the verification of ownership for NFT holders, is now integrated with RaceDayNFT.com, Speedway Motorsports’ digital marketplace for race fans. An NFT (non-fungible token) is a digital collectible (such as a video or image) that is officially licensed and recorded on the blockchain to demonstrate proof of ownership.

Users prove ownership of tokens via authentication facilitated through the use of the Tokenproof Mobile App and it is usable with any virtual wallet on the Flow Blockchain, including RaceDay NFT’s Dapper Wallet offering.

Texas Motor Speedway’s latest NFT collectibles dropped on Monday (Speed-Danger-Fun Token) and Thursday (Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 Virtual Die-cast Pack).

More than a dozen Texas Motor Speedway fans who authenticate ownership of one of this week’s Texas NFTs via the Tokenproof app, can receive an upgraded experience on Sunday, Sept. 25, in the following way:

  • Visit the ticket booth between Sections 107 and 108.
  • The first three authenticated guests will receive two suite passes apiece for the Autotrader Echopark Automotive 500 NASCAR Cup Series race.
  • The next 10 authenticated guests will receive two passes each to the Daughtry pre-race concert as well as other pre-race experiences.

“This is an awesome opportunity for some fortunate fans to receive a significant upgrade to their Texas Motor Speedway experience,” said Texas Motor Speedway Vice President of Marketing Ellen Stallcup. “We have received a tremendous response to all of our NFT offerings this year and we look forward to more fans taking advantage of Tokenproof on RaceDayNFT.com this weekend.”

Similar upgrade programs are scheduled to take place during NASCAR Playoff Weekends at other Speedway Motorsports facilities, including Sunday, Oct. 9 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course and Sunday, Oct. 16 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

RaceDayNFT.com is built on the environmentally friendly Flow Blockchain, home of other leading sports NFT projects including NBA Top Shot and NFL ALL DAY.

Speedway Motorsports and RaceDay NFT is the first major sports organization on the Flow Blockchain to use Tokenproof as a critical NFT enhancement.

“RaceDayNFT is an innovative platform that gives NFT owners tremendous value and utility,” said Mike Burch, Speedway Motorsports’ executive vice president and chief operating officer. “This integration with Gigantik, Flow and Tokenproof will give us the ability to take RaceDayNFT to the next level.”

In partnership with Gigantik, Speedway Motorsports created RaceDayNFT.com, the original motorsports NFT marketplace for race fans, in 2021.

RaceDay NFT is also linked with Dapper Wallet, which allows customers to conduct NFT business with credit cards as well as multiple currencies including popular cryptocurrency options such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Speedway Motorsports leverages the proprietary platform Gigantik to create and operate its

NFT marketplace. Gigantik helps brands remove the complexity of smart contracts, blockchain integration, NFT design and management of event services.

Monster Energy Racing: Riley Herbst Texas NXS Advance

RILEY HERBST
Texas NASCAR Xfinity Series Advance
No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing

NASCAR Xfinity Series Overview

• Event: Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 (Round 27 of 33)

• Date: Saturday, Sept. 24

• Location: Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth

• Layout: 1.5-mile oval

• Time/TV/Radio: 3:30 p.m. EDT on USA/PRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio

Riley Herbst Notes of Interest

• Riley Herbst kicks off his playoff drive this Saturday in the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. The driver of the No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang locked himself into the postseason two weekends ago at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, marking his third straight playoff appearance since his rookie year in 2020. Herbst is seeded 11th in the 12-driver playoff field, three points below the top-eight cutoff to advance to the Round of 8, which begins Oct. 15 at his home track of Las Vegas Motor Speedway. To get there, Herbst must successfully navigate Texas and then the next two playoff races Oct. 1 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway and Oct. 8 at the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway Roval. Winning is the surefire way to advance to the next round of the playoffs, but consistency, the ability to avoid trouble, and accumulating valuable stage points are all important aspects of advancing throughout the playoffs and to the ultimate goal of being a part of the Championship 4 Nov. 5 at Phoenix Raceway.

• Herbst proved solid during the 26-race regular season. The 23-year-old racer from Las Vegas began the year with a fourth-place finish at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and capped the regular season with a fifth-place run at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway last Friday night. Herbst earned six top-fives and 16 top-10s in the regular season to finish ninth in the standings. With seven races still remaining, his six top-fives have already exceeded his previous season-best of five top-fives, earned last year. He is also just one top-10 away from equaling his single-season career best of 17 top-10s, secured in 2020.

• The Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 will be Herbst’s sixth career Xfinity Series start at Texas. Since joining Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) in 2021, Herbst has not finished outside the top-12 at the 1.5-mile oval, including a career-best run of eighth earned in May.

• SHR has one Xfinity Series win at Texas. Cole Custer delivered the victory in November 2018, beating Tyler Reddick by .162 of a second.

• As part of the annual “Honor a Cancer Hero” program championed by the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation and the NASCAR Foundation, the name of Laura Walter will ride along with Herbst above the driver’s side door of his No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang for the second year in a row this weekend at Texas. In recognition of Childhood and Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, the signature panels of Herbst’s racing machine and that of dozens of other drivers in NASCAR’s top-three national touring series were auctioned to the highest bidder. Mark Walter Jr., nominated his mother Laura, who battled breast cancer, to appear on Herbst’s car once again this year. Proceeds from this program have raised more than $106,000 in support of The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation Emergency Children’s Department in Huntersville, North Carolina, as well as integrative therapies for women and children undergoing cancer treatments and child life services across the racing community.

Riley Herbst, Driver of the No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang

Texas marks the start of the seven-race Xfinity Series Playoffs. Does your mindset change now that you’re in the playoffs, or do you go about these next seven races the same way you did the previous 26 races?

“Nothing changes. We obviously have to be smart in the playoffs. It’s about surviving each race and getting the best results. I think we’re smart about coming to races and being prepared to race for wins, but also being cautious and staying out of trouble. We’re always going to try to execute to the best of our abilities and try to get the best results. That won’t change in the playoffs.”

You’ve earned a career-best six top-fives along with 16 top-10s so far this season. What’s been the key to your growth this season?

“Communication has been key this year. Last year we were just getting to know each other and it was a weird year with no practice or qualifying. Those sessions are essential to learning a brand-new team. Really, communication with my crew chief, Richard Boswell, and my spotter, Tim Fedewa, has been key. You have to build a trust in that trio and we’ve done that this year. The results are showing and people are taking notice.”

How do you approach Texas and what have you learned since your first start at the track in 2020?

“Texas is a beast on its own. It’s a super-fast, 1.5-mile track in the Texas heat, so you know it’s going to be a challenge. With that said, it should be a lot of fun and I’m excited to go back for the second time this year. I performed well there in May, so hoping to continue that trend. The key is having a fast Monster Energy Ford Mustang, which we always bring, and staying out of trouble. It’s your typical intermediate track, but it’s crazy how fast it is. We just have to keep our focus on earning stage points and getting a good finish.”

Both ends of the racetrack are so different, which is part of what makes this track so challenging, yet so fun. Our mile-and-a-half program has not been our strongest, but we also know this is a place where we can make the most gains as we head into the first race of the Playoffs.” – Daniel Hemric on Texas

It’d be great to go win the race, but ultimately, I think if we can just have a consistent race, good stage points and set the tone for the playoffs, that’s the most important thing.” AJ Allmendinger on Texas
