Team Penske NASCAR Cup Series Race Report
Track: Darlington Raceway
Race: Goodyear 400
Date: May 8, 2022

No. 2 Menards/Libman Ford Mustang – Austin Cindric

Start: 19th

Race Finish: 18th

Stage 1 Finish: 12th

Stage 2 Finish: 28th

Laps Led: 0

Point Standings: 18th (-195)

Race Rundown: Austin Cindric started 19th and finished 18th in Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway. In his first NASCAR Cup Series start at the South Carolina track, the Mooresville N.C. native battled a tight Menards/Libman Ford Mustang but fought forward to a 12th-place Stage 1 finish. During Stage 2, Cindric earned his Darlington stripe and fell to 28th two laps down to the leaders. However, Cindric and crew chief Jeremy Bullins were able to make successful changes all afternoon gaining both laps back in the process. With 87 laps remaining, Cindric radioed to his crew that his Ford Mustang was down on power. He continued to press forward as the checkered flag flew.

Cindric’s Thoughts: “We had an up and down day and kind of felt like it was a missed opportunity for our Menards/Libman Ford Mustang. We got way too loose in the middle of the race. We got the car driving really well and then about halfway we started having some engine problems and were really down on power that really prevented us from moving our way back forward through the field once we got back on the lead lap. It definitely was not meant to be. Every single caution that would have hurt our strategy came out exactly when it didn’t need to so just not ideal, but we certainly learned a lot as a team today and got our car driving well again in stage three, which I think there’s a lot to learn from that.”

No. 12 Advance Auto Parts Ford Mustang – Ryan Blaney

Start: 7th

Race Finish: 17th

Stage 1 Finish: 17th

Stage 2 Finish: 13th

Laps Led: 0

Point Standings: 3rd (-65)

Race Rundown: Ryan Blaney started seventh and finished 17th in Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway in the No. 12 Advance Auto Parts Ford Mustang. Blaney was forced to make a major recovery in the opening stage when a glitch on a pit stop brought the team back to pit road for an additional stop. After starting at the rear of the field, Blaney drove back to 17th before the end of the first stage. In the final stage, Blaney was collected in a multi-vehicle incident after working he way inside the top-10, dropping the valuable track position once more. Blaney would soldier on for a 17th place finish.

Blaney’s Thoughts: “Frustrating day for our Advance Auto Parts Mustang. Not the day we were looking for at all. We finally worked back forward and then the incident and damage kind of sealed our fate for the day.”

No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Mustang – Joey Logano

Start: 1st

Race Finish: 1st -First win of 2022

Stage 1 Finish: 1st – First stage win of 2022

Stage 2 Finish: 3rd

Laps Led: 107 – Race high

Point Standings: 4th (-79)

Race Rundown: Joey Logano started from the pole and raced all the way to victory lane in Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway, collecting his 28th NASCAR Cup Series victory. The win in the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Mustang had an extra sentimental factor as the paint scheme replicated Logano’s first quarter midget. Logano showed late-run speed, passing Kyle Busch with 11 laps remaining in the opening stage to cruise to his first stage win of the year. Logano continued to run inside the top-three, taking turns in the lead before finishing third in Stage 2. In the final stage, the field would work through an entire green flag pit cycle. Logano would survive a late race shootout with William Byron to power to victory.

Logano’s Thoughts: “Just an incredible race there at the end with William (Byron). I don’t know if he meant to get into me and fence me, but he did and at that point I felt like it was game on and was able to get back to him there the last few laps, pushing really hard, and just knew that was my shot to win the thing and I had to take it. Man, I’m so proud of this team. It’s so cool to win in this car. This is my first quarter midget. This is the beginning and to see it in Victory Lane, I’m just so proud. My family is here. My mom, my dad. Happy Mother’s Day. My sister is here. Everybody is here. My wife is not here, unfortunately, and my kids, but this is a very special day to be able to get this one in Victory Lane and celebrate with a few of us here.”

Burton Finishes 14th at Darlington

On Sunday afternoon at Darlington Raceway, rookie Harrison Burton and the No. 21 DEX Imaging team were able to make significant mid-race gains at one of the toughest tracks in motorsports.

After starting 25th, Burton and the No. 21 Mustang were mired in 30th place at the end of the first 90-lap Stage of Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at the “Track Too Tough To Tame.” But when the checkered flag fell, they had rallied to finish a season-best 14th.

Burton didn’t gain much ground until the second Stage got underway. By Lap 185, the end of that segment, he had moved up to 20th place and was showing more speed as the race progressed.

He was running solidly inside the top 20 when a multi-car crash on a restart with 33 laps remaining scrambled the line-up.

Burton steered clear of trouble as the incident unfolded ahead of him, but flat-spotted his tires in the process, resulting in a trip to pit road for fresh rubber.

He rejoined the race in 12th place and wound up 14th at the finish, giving him the honors for being the highest finishing rookie.

Crew chief Brian Wilson described Sunday’s work by the DEX Imaging crew as “an outstanding result for the team.”

He said he, the crew and Burton are figuring out which adjustments to the No. 21 Mustang are best suited for Burton’s driving style.

“We are continuing to build the team and making progress on giving Harrison the feel he’s looking for,” Wilson said, adding that a successful performance at Darlington comes at a good time for the team. “It’s something we can build on heading into a stretch of similar, intermediate tracks at Kansas, Texas and Charlotte.

And, Wilson said, a top-15 finish also gives the team a bump up in the points standings, from 31st to 29th.

Burton and the DEX Imaging team now head to Kansas Speedway for the AdventHealth 400 on May 15.

RCR NCS Post Race Report: Darlington

Austin Dillon and The No. 3 Huk Chevrolet Team Overcome Obstacles To Earn Solid Top-10 Finish at Darlington Raceway

Finish: 9th
Start: 14th
Points: 14th

“What an unbelievable day at Darlington Raceway. We faced so much as a team so it feels really good to get a ninth-place finish in the Huk Chevrolet. We had to make a green-flag stop in Stage 1 but fought to take the wave-around and get back on the lead lap. Our Chevy was really good on the long run, but we struggled on the short run, especially in dirty air. I was starting to wonder how many times I could hit the wall without having issues. We overcame two speeding penalties today, so it says a lot about our team to be able to overcome those and finish in the top-10.” -Austin Dillon

Tyler Reddick And The No. 8 3CHI Chevrolet Team Finish Second at Darlington Raceway

Finish: 2nd
Start: 10th
Points: 15th

“Darlington Raceway is fun. It’s a frustrating place. You let your guard down for one second and your whole day can change. It’s one of the most difficult tracks that we go to, especially trying to manage the dirty air; trying to manage your right side and not tearing it off. A lot of options when you go into each corner here, so it makes it really fun, but also pretty frustrating until you figure it out. All-in-all, it was a good rebound for our No. 8 3CHI Chevrolet team. We pitted for a vibration pretty early in the race that could have derailed our whole day, but we were able to bounce back from it. Our team really needed a good finish after the last few weeks. Proud of the effort and a second-place finish and excited to build off this at Kansas.” -Tyler Reddick

Max Verstappen beats Charles Leclerc in thrilling fight to win first-ever Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix

  • The capacity crowd enjoys an amazing debut race at the Miami International Autodrome
  • Red Bull’s Max Verstappen triumphs in the inaugural Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, with the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz taking second and third place on the podium
  • The race becomes the hottest ticket in town as celebrities such as David Beckham, Serena Williams, LeBron James, and Michael Jordan descend on Miami Gardens
  • DJ Tiësto, Maluma and The Chainsmokers provide the soundtrack to an amazing festival atmosphere

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla., Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen held off a late-race charge from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to take victory in the first-ever Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix. At the chequered flag, the Dutchman’s winning margin over his Ferrari rival was just 3.7 seconds after 57-laps around the brand-new Miami International Autodrome. A further 4.4 seconds back was the second Ferrari of Carlos Sainz who finished just ahead of Sergio Perez’s Red Bull.

A capacity crowd packed into the sport’s newest venue to enjoy a terrific duel between the top two drivers in this year’s points chase. The inaugural running of the event in Miami Gardens featured a host of overtaking and on-track battles — including a late-race Safety Car — that kept the huge crowd enthralled in the beautiful South Florida sunshine.

The Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix was the hottest ticket in town as a host of celebrities from the realms of showbiz, music and film in addition to sporting superstars enjoyed the world-class VIP guest experience. Stars at the track included David Beckham, Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, LeBron James, Winnie Harlow, Paris Hilton and Pharrell who joined a host of Miami Dolphins players and Head Coach Mike McDaniel on the grid before the race.

The top three drivers were full of praise for the track and organization of the first-ever Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix too: “It was an incredible atmosphere, it was really well-organized. It’s not easy to put on an event like this and they did an amazing job and I had a lot of fun driving around,” said race winner Verstappen. “The atmosphere was incredible — it’s great to see how much interest the sport has got in the last few years,” said Leclerc. “The organization was great with loads of people and good weather. It was amazing to be here.”

Following the pre-race ceremonies, the Grand Prix got underway at 3.30pm E.T. local time. From third on the grid, Verstappen made a strong start and managed to out-brake Sainz for second place at the first corner. He then set off in pursuit of pole sitter Leclerc and managed to pass the Ferrari for the lead as the pair crossed the start/finish line at the beginning of lap 9.

Thereafter the Red Bull driver pulled out a margin of nearly six seconds as he approached his mandatory tyre stop on lap 26. Leclerc had switched from the medium to hard compound Pirellis a lap earlier and after they had both completed their stops, the gap between the leaders increased to 7.5 seconds.

But Verstappen’s path to victory was suddenly under threat when the race was neutralized on lap 41. A Virtual Safety Car had been deployed following contact between McLaren’s Lando Norris and the AlphaTauri of Pierre Gasly. The Frenchman had run wide at Turn 7 and as he accelerated out of Turn 8 to regain his position, he touched Norris’s right-rear wheel which caused the McLaren to spin wildly down the straight. As Norris climbed out of his stricken machine the Safety Car was deployed to enable the marshals to retrieve his McLaren and clear the track of debris.

The biggest beneficiary of the Safety Car was Mercedes driver George Russell. After starting 12th on the grid, he chose to begin the race on the hard tyre and hadn’t pitted by the time of the VSC, by which point he had risen to fifth place. Despite emerging from the pit lane behind Lewis Hamilton, he was able to pass his Mercedes team-mate and also benefitted from Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas running wide at the final corner to claim fifth overall.

After a number of laps behind the Safety Car the race resumed with just ten laps remaining. Leclerc came close to regaining the lead in an exciting battle in the closing stages, but Verstappen held on to claim a famous win. After being given a police escort motorcade underneath the Hard Rock Stadium, the top three drivers then appeared on the huge podium wearing NFL-style helmets complete with face guard. The football theme continued when Verstappen was presented with his winners’ trophy by Miami Dolphins legend and former quarterback Dan Marino.

Away from the Formula 1® action, Sunday morning also included a wealth of other on-track activities overseen by the race’s three Ambassadors Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi and Juan Pablo Montoya. Events included the F1® Drivers Parade that featured a collection of the world’s finest convertible super and hypercars and the all-female support race category. Defending champion Jamie Chadwick completed a perfect weekend at W Series Miami presented by Hard Rock by backing up her win in Saturday’s first race with a dominant lights-to-flag victory in race two of the 2022 season-opening double-header.

The spectators also enjoyed the amazing party atmosphere at the Hard Rock Beach Club. At lunchtime the Grammy Award-winning and international icon DJ Tiësto performed to the entire Campus and that was followed up by a performance by Maluma on the podium, while the world famous EDM-pop duo The Chainsmokers brought the Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix party and festival atmosphere to an end on Sunday evening.

What Is An Auto Collision Repair Center, And How Can They Help You?

Auto Collision Repair Centers (ACRC) are a part of the repair industry that often gets overlooked for vehicle maintenance. People usually go through routine maintenance like changing their oil or tire rotation and do not even think about collision repair services. But these centers offer far greater potential for repairs than just those routine tasks.

Indeed, these people can receive expert advice on expensive repairs and help with insurance claims due to collision damage. The staff also provides excellent assistance and customer service on technical questions about everyday car issues.

What is an Auto Collision Repair Center?

Auto collision repair centers, also known as auto body shops. These Mercedes collision center are designed to help consumers overcome the stress of a collision or accident by repairing their vehicles back to their original condition. Thus, an auto repair center can offer customers a wide range of services after a crash occurs and they need some vehicle repair.

They are repairing a car after an accident is expensive, especially if it’s a luxury car. However, now you have the solution to getting your vehicles repaired under budget with auto car collision repair services. They can also get customers information on how much their vehicle’s value is going down after damage is done and clearly indicates about ACRCs’ importance in the automotive repair industry.

How Do They work?

If you have a damaged vehicle, you need to find a company that repairs it. Thousands of companies specialize in repairing damaged cars, and according to experience, collision repair centers work the best. This is because they are specialized in repairing different car parts like doors, fenders, bumpers, and so on.

Professional people at collision repair centers know how to fix the car precisely as before. In addition, they can answer any of your questions regarding specific parts of your vehicle and how they operate together. If a feature needs replacement or repair, you can ensure that the professionals know exactly what to do with the car.

How Can They Help You?

When you get auto body shop assistance, you need to be aware that they will help you with different issues regarding your car. These issues could be anything like buying the right part or how to alter the correct position. By visiting an automotive collision repair center, you can benefit in the following ways:

  • They know when the particular car parts are not working correctly and offer repairs on those parts. You can also ask if any specific details of your vehicle might need replacement soon.

  • A collision repair service can also help you customize your vehicle as per your requirement. You can add or remove certain things in your car and get your dream project built.

However, it would help if you realized that these repairs would take time. Your vehicle will have to be held for an extended period to complete repair work. If you don’t have much money, it is recommended to get up and running before the cost of repairs gets out of hand.

The Most Common Reasons You Might Need Legal Representation

Most people hope that we never have to encounter a situation where legal representation is essential. Although this common desire is based on the notion that lawyers are only necessary in criminal cases. However, lawyers are crucial experts whom most of us will need to rely on at least once in our lifetime.

Individuals and businesses can feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to do when legal issues arise unexpectedly. Most find that seeking the help of a professional will turn things around for the better. And a lot of times, they do. So, seeking legal representation should always be your first step, whether you’re facing a criminal charge, civil litigation, or suing for a medical malpractice case.

Here are some common reasons you might need to hire a lawyer.

Personal Injury Claims

Personal injury claims are relevant for car accidents, boating accidents, assaults, medical malpractice, and product defects. Because another individual or party is responsible for injuries in these instances, you are entitled to fair compensation that covers all the costs which stem from the injury, both current and future.

Proving that the other party is negligent and that their actions were the reason for your injury can be challenging to navigate. Evidence must be gathered, and medical documents must be filed and completed to ensure success.

Aside from that, there’s dealing and negotiating with the insurance companies. Skilled and experienced personal injury lawyers can seamlessly go through this process on your behalf so you don’t get the short end of the stick.

Navigating a personal injury claim without a professional lawyer can be tricky, time-consuming, and disappointing. So, it’s best to consult an NYC auto accident attorney or another type of personal injury lawyer.

Employment Concerns

Most professionals will consult experienced Minnesota work attorneys (or one elsewhere) at several points along their career paths. When considering just how common unpaid wages, wrongful termination, or even wrongful termination are for employees around the world, it makes sense why employment lawyers are essential professionals.

Another instance where a lawyer may prove helpful is in violation of labor laws cases and workplace safety issues. These are all crucial to the overall well-being of employees. But if you’re unfamiliar with those laws, an employment lawyer can better explain their intricacies. For example, a wage and hour lawyer can help you if you have concerns about your pay, or are not being allowed to take the number of breaks you are legally entitled to.

It’s wise to consult an employment lawyer when signing a new employment contract, coping with workplace toxicity, discrimination, and any other legal matters surrounding your employment.

Divorce And Custody Battles

Divorce and custody battles are family matters that should be dealt with under the guidance of expert family lawyers. These legal representatives ensure fair divorce while ensuring the most capable and caring guardian receives custody of any children involved in the matter.

Family lawyers are still essential when protecting minors in custody battles and are relevant outside of divorce. With Toronto Divorce Lawyers you will avoid the high costs and aggravation with a free consultation to determine if you qualify for a free or low-cost divorce.

Divorce battles can be emotionally and financially draining. They can also have debilitating effects on children. Many undergoing this stage in their marital lives want it to be over and done the quickest way possible to reduce the impact on everyone involved.

Estate Planning

Estate planning refers to the division of your assets when you are no longer around. It’s essential to have a plan set up to ensure your hard work over the years is appropriately divided.

When the time comes to draft your last will, set up trust funds, and divide your assets, it’s crucial to consult an estate planning lawyer to help you with all the legalities surrounding estate planning.

Tips To Find The Right Lawyer

Whether any of the above instances apply to you or you have another legal inquiry to make, it’s essential to find the right lawyer for the job.

It’s essential to search for a legal practitioner who specializes in the matter at hand. For example, if you are facing a divorce, find a divorce lawyer at a family law firm. In addition to this, you must also consider the price structure and payment schedule. To get the best lawyers for your cases you can go for defense attorney Luke Woods. Some lawyers will charge for consultations upfront, while others might receive their payment from your compensation payout so it’s important to find the lawyer upfront that’s right for you. At the same time, the initial consultation is sometimes free. So, it’s essential to know these specifics.

Beyond specialization and fee structures, you must also consider years of experience and professional personality, and ultimately choose a lawyer that you feel comfortable with.

A Complete Guide to Travel Trailers

Are you looking to maximize your adventures this spring and summer? If so, you’re probably looking into the wide variety of travel trailers available on the market.

There are also RVs, but they are far more expensive. RVs are also more difficult to maneuver and will limit your access to certain areas.

Travel trailers, on the other hand, can detach. This allows you to take your vehicle to the store to pick up food and other items without abandoning your campsite or hauling the extra payload.

The only question is, what type of travel trailer is right for you, your family, and your future adventures?

Not sure where to begin? Don’t worry, we can help. Keep reading for everything you need to know about your travel trailer options.

Pop-Up and Fold-Out Travel Trailers

If you do not mind minimizing your living space, pop-up and fold-out trailers are the way to go if you want to maximize your savings. These mini tow-behind travel trailers are small and lightweight. You can even tow these with small sedans, making them more accommodating to people who don’t own pickups or SUVs.

However, as you might have guessed, these types of travel trailers are very minimalistic. They don’t provide much in the way of insulation, accommodations, or protection (wildlife, weather, break-ins, etc.)

Traditional Tow-Behind Travel Trailers

The next step up is traditional tow-behind trailers. These types of travel trailers don’t require any special equipment and are typically lighter than fifth-wheel trailers. You can tow these wid mid-sized rigs as long as you have the right hitch.

These come with hard sides, decent insulation, and more accommodations than the fold-up trailers. You will enjoy a small kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living area.

Fifth-Wheel Travel Trailers

Fifth-wheel travel trailers are easily the largest and most luxurious. They mount to the back of a pickup via a specially modified hitch placed in the bed of the truck. This allows for heavier payloads and easier maneuvering.

Fifth-wheel travel trailers typically come with all the bells and whistles. This includes:

  • Full kitchens
  • Full-sized bathroom with shower
  • Extra sleeping areas
  • Master bedroom
  • Extra storage space
  • TVs and other entertainment
  • And more

Fifth-wheel travel trailers also include a specialized group dubbed “Toy Haulers.” These provide space inside the trailer to transport dirtbikes, four-wheelers, and other recreational vehicles.

How to Choose

Now, let’s take a look at how to choose the best types of travel trailers for your needs. As noted above, some trailers require specific types of vehicles to haul them. If you don’t have a truck big enough to haul a fifth-wheel, you’ll need to think smaller or invest in a new truck.

You also need to consider your budget. Of course, you can always save money by looking at used trailers for sale.

Finally, think about the needs of your family. What types of adventures do you want to go on and what types of luxuries do you want to enjoy while on the road? How much space do you need for everyone to be comfortable?

If you plan on carrying a lot of gear or need more storage space, an artic trailer might be a great option, as it provides extra storage capacity while maintaining the flexibility of a traditional trailer.

Alternatively, double-axle trailers are ideal for carrying heavier loads and can handle a more significant weight distribution, making them another solid choice for extended trips. You may also consider tandem trailers, which are particularly useful for those who need more space but prefer a more compact option than an artic trailer.

Looking for Travel Trailers?

There’s a lot to consider before investing in travel trailers. We hope this guide helps clear things up so you can come to an easy decision.

And if you’re looking for more recreational tips or adventure advice, we have more to offer. Before you go, take a look through some of our other articles to find all the information you need.

Let us say, you are in Melbourne with your travel trailer. You have parked it and started out to explore the city. During this time if you shopped a lot and needed a safe place to leave your bags and collect it later, you can use Vertoe locations in Melbourne. Darlington delivers as Logano wins with controversial bump and run

With two laps to go, Joey Logano used his bumper to move leader William Byron out of his way, take over the lead and cruise to his first win of the season in the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway.

It was his first victory at Darlington and the 28th Cup Series win of his career.

Logano indicated that his move was payback for earlier contact while racing Byron.

“Yeah, you’re not going to put me in the wall and not get anything back,” he said. “That’s how that works. Man, super proud of the Shell-Pennzoil team, getting a victory here in Darlington. You know what it’s like. I’ve never won here in a Cup race before.”

“So proud of this race team, great execution all day long. I’ll tell you what, the coolest thing is getting this car into Victory Lane. This is the car where it all started for me back in ’95 in a quarter midget. Really, honestly, all the young kids racing out there right now, this could be you.”

The maneuver caused Byron to slide up the track into the outside wall resulting in a disappointing 13th place finish. Byron was understandably upset.

“We were really close off of 2, and I think it spooked him and got him tight, and he was right against the wall, and I got the lead,” he said. “He’s just an idiot. He does this stuff all the time. I’ve seen it with other guys.
“He drove in there 10 mph too fast, and with these Next-Gen cars, he slammed me so hard it knocked the whole right side off the car, and no way to make the corner.

“Yeah, he’s just a moron. He can’t win a race, so he does it that way. It was close racing on the restart. We were faster than him. Obviously, at the end the right rear started to go away, and, yeah, he didn’t even make it a contest.”

Justin Haley finished third, followed by Kevin Harvick. It was Harvick’s 13th top-10 at Darlington, a track record. Chase Elliott managed a fifth-place finish after starting the race at the back of the field in 34th place in a backup car.

Harrison Burton was the highest-finishing (14) rookie.

The ending wasn’t the only drama that fans saw as Darlington lived up to its reputation as the track Too Tough to Tame. There were nine cautions, 23 lead changes (among 13 drivers) and 13 cars out of the 36 that were entered did not finish the race.

Did not Finish:
• Martin Truex Jr, Toyota, accident
• Erik Jones, Chevrolet, accident
• Cole Custer, Ford, accident
• Bubba Wallace, Toyota, accident
• Kurt Busch, Toyota, accident
• Alex Bowman, Chevrolet, accident
• Ross Chastain, Chevrolet, accident
• Daniel Hemric, Chevrolet, engine
• BJ McLeod, Ford, brakes
• Kyle Busch, Toyota, accident
• Brad Keselowski, Ford, accident
• Corey Lajoie, Chevrolet, accident
• Kyle Larson, Chevrolet, engine

The post-race inspection was clear with no issues and the results are final. NASCAR is also taking the No. 2 Team Penske Ford of driver Austin Cindric and No. 31 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet of Justin Haley back to the NASCAR R&D Center.

TYLER REDDICK, NO. 8 3CHI CAMARO ZL1 – Finished 2nd

TALK ABOUT THOSE CLOSING LAPS ON THAT FINAL RESTART.

“William (Byron) did a really good job on the restart to get by Joey (Logano). There was a little bit of contact there, so I don’t know if that’s why Joey got back to William. It also kind of looked like Joey was going under and William kind of faded down. I was hoping they were going to blow their momentum a little bit more than they did, but it didn’t turn out that way.

All-in-all, it was a good rebound for our No. 8 3CHI Chevrolet team. We pitted for a vibration pretty early in the race that could have derailed our whole day, but we were able to bounce back from it.”

WE SAW A LOT OF ISSUES IN TURN TWO. HOW TREACHEROUS WAS THAT CORNER ALL DAY?

“I didn’t think turn two was honestly that bad. It’s just so gripped up over there with it being repaved. But when you’re in dirty air, it makes it really unpredictable and really narrows up. These cars are a little bit wider than the old cars and they do not like the bump transitioning from the new asphalt to the old asphalt. It was definitely pretty rough from the start.”

DO YOU LIKE RACING DARLINGTON?

“Yeah, Darlington (Raceway) is fun. It’s a frustrating place. You let your guard down for one second and your whole day can change. It’s one of the most difficult tracks that we go to, especially trying to manage the dirty air; trying to manage your right side and not tearing it off. A lot of options when you go into each corner here, so it makes it really fun, but also pretty frustrating until you figure it out.”

JUSTIN HALEY, NO. 31 LEAFFILTER GUTTER PROTECTION CAMARO ZL1 – Finished 4th

“This isn’t the best car we’ve brought to the race track unloading after practice. But we just kept after it all day. Some great strategy from this No. 31 LeafFilter Gutter Protection Chevy team. We had a good restart there at the end and we just kind of hung on. We didn’t have a fourth-place car, but it’s a great finish. This was my best Cup finish besides that win. To do it here at Darlington (Raceway), to get a fourth, it’s pretty special.

It was a good run. We’ll take this to next week and see what we can do at Kansas (Speedway).”

CHASE ELLIOTT, NO. 9 NAPA CAMARO ZL1 – Finished 5th

“We just kind of survived, really. It wasn’t anything spectacular by any means. I thought we had our No. 9 NAPA Chevy in a pretty good spot there on a couple occasions. It was just kind of a matter of how you restarted; whether you had a fortunate set of circumstances that your lane went forward and you were able to get a couple of spots here and a couple spots there. And then you ride around pretty much the rest of the time, unless it gets messed up and then you might be able to pass somebody in the last five laps or so in a run. And then you hope your pit stops are really fast and then hope you do a good job on the next restart.”

RICKY STENHOUSE JR., NO. 47 KROGER / NATURE VALLEY CAMARO ZL1 – Finished 8th

“It was a battle. We weren’t very good to start. I think the track conditions got a little better for us as it cooled off. But we battled all day. My No. 47 Kroger / Nature Valley Chevrolet team made good adjustments and the cautions fell the right way. I felt like we had really good strategy on that last long run, which put us in the top-five when the caution came out. I felt like we were in a really good spot to run top-five; and then the No. 4 (Kevin Harvick) got us in the fence there and I was really tight after that.

Two top-10’s in a row is nothing to be too bummed about. That was a battle. We weren’t very good, but we made something out of it.”

AUSTIN DILLON, NO. 3 HUK PERFORMANCE FISHING CAMARO ZL1 – Finished 9th

“What an unbelievable day at Darlington Raceway. We faced so much as a team so it feels really good to get a ninth-place finish in the Huk Chevrolet. We had to make a green-flag stop in Stage 1 but fought back to take the wave-around and get back on the lead lap. Our Chevy was really good on the long run, but we struggled on the short run, especially in dirty air. I was starting to wonder how many times I could hit the wall without having issues. We overcame two speeding penalties today, so it says a lot about our team to be able to overcome those and finish in the top-10.”

DANIEL SUAREZ, NO. 99 COCA-COLA CAMARO ZL1 – Finished 10th

“It was a good day for our No. 99 Coca-Cola Chevrolet team. I feel like we did a good job making adjustments. Track position was huge and the pit crew did an amazing job all day. We only had one issue there, but there’s nothing we can do about that. It’s not 100 percent under our control.

We have to keep working and keep building. I feel like we can be better and come back stronger.”

WILLIAM BYRON, NO. 24 AXALTA CAMARO ZL1 – Finished 13th

WE JUST HEARD FROM JOEY (LOGANO) AND IT SOUNDED ALMOST LIKE IT WAS A RETALIATION THING. DID YOU GUYS HAVE SOMETHING HAPPEN BEFORE THAT?

“No, I mean, we were really close off of (turn) two and I think it spooked him and got him tight; and he was right against the wall and I got the lead. He does this stuff all the time. I’ve seen it with other guys. He drove in there 10 mph too fast, and with these Next Gen cars, he slammed me so hard it knocked the whole right side off the car and there was no way to make the corner.

He can’t win a race, so it does it that way. I don’t know. It was close racing on the restart. We were faster than him. Obviously at the end, the right rear started to go away; and yeah, he didn’t even make it a contest.”

ERIK JONES, NO. 43 FOCUSFACTOR CAMARO ZL1 – Finished 25th

“A tough end to our day. Our FOCUSFactor Chevrolet Camaro was a little on the tight side, but we stayed after it and I thought we had a shot at another top-10 finish. We’ll go back to the shop and refocus on next week at Kansas.”

ALEX BOWMAN, NO. 48 ALLY CAMARO ZL1 – Finished 29th.

AS YOU SAW THERE, QUITE A BIG FIRE. ANY IDEA WHAT LED TO THAT?

“I don’t know. Obviously, a pretty miserable day for our Ally Camaro. Greg (Ives) and the guys were working hard on it. I was just really out of the racetrack; didn’t make any grip and we could be super tight or super loose. Either way, we were really slow. And then something broke and it just went straight. We hit the wall and then whatever is on fire now.

Bummed for the guys. It was a pretty miserable day.”

ROSS CHASTAIN, NO. 1 COCA-COLA CAMARO ZL1, sidelined due to damage sustained in an accident on lap 196; Finished 30th.

“We had a super strong day for our No. 1 Coca-Cola Chevy Camaro. We were fighting the balance all day. We were racing with those guys for the lead. I just thought I could run the bottom there off of turn two and the exit of the patch. I just got loose on the transition and spun out.

Aside from that, it was a perfect day on the track and on pit road. I’m proud of the effort; proud of the grip that our car had. We’ll come back here in the fall and give ourselves another shot.”

KYLE LARSON, NO. 5 HENDRICKCARS.COM CAMARO ZL1, sidelined due to mechanical failure; Finished 36th.

THE GUYS IN THE BOOTH WERE SAYING, WHEN YOU SPUN, THEY WONDERED IF MAYBE THAT HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHAT HAPPENED HERE.

“I was thinking that, as well. With these cars, you don’t want to lock the tires up because you’ll get a flat and it really tears your car up. I definitely rolled backwards some. That was my concern with why we blew up, but they said that probably didn’t have anything to do with it.

Bummer. Our No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet was super good today, so that’s promising. I feel like maybe we hit on something here this weekend. I hate that we’re not going to get the finish that we deserve, but I’m proud of my team for the car they brought today.”

Sound Bites:

“I felt like we finished probably better than we should have, but I think the guys did a good job on pit road with our Rheem Ford Mustang. The last run was probably the best that we were, just being able to hold on. We just couldn’t hold on once it started getting cooler, but we wound up with a good call there and got the caution and wound up in the right spot, and then we were able to capitalize on it.” – Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 4 Rheem / Chasing a Cure Ford Mustang

“We had a top-10 car all day. It’s a really good sign to see that from week to week, especially at two difficult tracks like Dover last weekend and Darlington today. Drew (Blickensderfer, crew chief) and the team worked hard all day to give me what I needed. The pit crew really showed up today, too. Fortunately, we missed that wreck there toward the end that got us our track position back. It was such an honor to run my grandfather’s sprint car paint scheme that I grew up watching. That meant a lot to me and a lot to him. I wish we could’ve brought it to victory lane one last time, but 11th wasn’t a bad way to finish my final Darlington Throwback Weekend.” – Aric Almirola, driver of the No. 10 Smithfield Mustang
