KROGER RETURNS TO NO. 47 CAMARO ZL1 FOR THE DAYTONA 500 AND 2022 NASCAR CUP SERIES SEASON

To celebrate, Kroger Delivery is offering FRESH grocery delivery to NASCAR fans camping at Daytona International Speedway leading up to the Daytona 500

HARRISBURG, N.C. (February 4, 2022) – – It’s a fresh car, fresh brands, and a fresh season for JTG Daugherty Racing. The team is honored to have America’s largest grocery retailer, The Kroger Co. return to the No. 47 Camaro ZL1 with driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. for the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season.

For a limited time, grocery delivery is set up at 1808 W International Speedway Blvd – directly across from the Speedway, which is convenient for campers. While fans in hotels can enjoy groceries delivered right to their hotel.

Former Go-Kart Champion and Formula 4 Driver with Skip Barber Racing School eyes a move up

LOS ANGELES, February 4, 2022 (Newswire.com) – EVO Development Group Co-CEO Lindsay Brewer made her first full-season debut last year in Touring Car America along with Skip Barber’s Formula 4 Series after a hiatus for university. Having come off of a podium win in 2019, Brewer has been testing with Jay Howard’s IndyPro 2000 team, Lee Faulk’s Stock Car team, and the W Series in preparation for her 2022 season.

“Last year was a great growth year for me as I got a chance to get back in the seat and spend more time behind the wheel driving both sports cars and open-wheel. This is all in alignment with my goal to eventually become an Indycar driver,” said Brewer.

2022 SEASON BEGINS AT THE LA COLISEUM

The 2022 season kicks off Saturday, February 6th at the “World’s Greatest Stadium,” the LA Coliseum. The inaugural event marks the first time in over 40 years that the Clash has been raced at a track other than Daytona. The 0.25-mile asphalt oval was constructed over the facility’s existing football field and marks the shortest track that NASCAR has competed on in the modern era. Since opening in 1923, the venue has hosted many marquee sporting events including 3 NFL Championships, 2 Super Bowls, and 2 Summer Olympic games. Although the Clash is a non-points event, it is the competitive debut of the Next Gen car – featuring a fleet of redesigned Ford Mustangs.

In addition to the one-off race at LA Coliseum, both NASCAR Cup and Xfinity series have each added one track to the 2022 schedule, along with several other lineup changes. On June 4th, the Xfinity series ventures to the Pacific Northwest for the first time at Portland International Raceway. The next day, June 5th, the 1.25-mile World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois makes its first ever NASCAR Cup Series debut. Auto Club Speedway makes its long-awaited return after a 2 year break due to COVID-19. All the previous 2021 track additions will return in 2022 including COTA, Nashville, Road America, Bristol Dirt, and the Indianapolis Road Course. This year’s Bristol Dirt race will take place under the lights as opposed to last year’s daytime race. The season still opens with the famed Daytona 500 and ends in Phoenix.

The long-awaited Next Gen car that was revealed in 2021 will see competition starting with this year’s Clash. The look and feel of the car has been redesigned to replicate the street version of the world’s best selling sports car, the Ford Mustang. The new design of the car has lowered the greenhouse, shortened the deck lid, and widened the track width to give the car more of a coupe look. Upgraded specs to match modern street car technology include a new independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, and larger brakes. A new transaxle combines the transmission and rear gears into one package to allow for electrification in the future. Hood louvers allow for maximization of engine performance independent of aerodynamics. The new composite material of the car is more durable, front and rear bumpers allow for increased safety, and both the front and rear clips bolt on to the center section for easy serviceability and repair.

For the 2022 NASCAR season, NASCAR Cup Series has established a 670 and 510 HP package. The 510 HP package will be utilized at Daytona, Talladega, and Atlanta – while the 670 HP package will be utilized at all other tracks. Popular Generator Brand will Anchor Partnership for Brad Keselowski in 2022

Justice Brothers scores double-podium in 60th Rolex 24 At Daytona

Wayne Taylor Racing a close second in bid for fourth-consecutive victory

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (2 Feb. 2022) – Justice Brothers placed two cars on the podium in a bid for a fourth-consecutive victory in the 60th Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Wayne Taylor Racing’s three-year winning streak came to a close after coming up just three seconds shy of the checkered flag on the way to a strong second place finish. It was another Justice Brothers squad sharing in the post race champagne shower in Daytona as JDC Miller Motorsports brought home a very competitive third place finish.

Ricky Taylor, Filipe Albuquerque, Alexander Rossi and newcomer Will Stevens led extensively and were well-placed for another run to victory with the No. 10 Konica Minolta Acura ARX-05. The team was in the thick of the fight all the way. A cut tire in the early going cost the team three laps, but Taylor regained the lead after a 150-lap comeback.

Car owner Wayne Taylor helped give the command to start the opening round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, joined by fellow Grand Marshals and racing legends Mario Andretti, Hurley Haywood, Bobby Rahal, Scott Pruett and Jack Roush.

“The team executed beautifully, but I just didn’t have enough at the end to go get Helio,” said Ricky Taylor of their late race duel. “I’m disappointed right now, but tomorrow we’ll begin working towards Sebring. I think it’s a really good start to the year. I’m really proud to have my teammates next to me, they all did an amazing job. Thanks to Konica Minolta, Harrison Contracting and all the guys that gave us the opportunity to be here. Looking forward to Sebring now. It can’t come soon enough.”

Loic Duval, Tristan Vautier, Richard Westbrook and Ben Keating shared the JDC Miller MotorSports Cadillac DPi-V.R – the lone car in the seven-car DPi field not to go a lap down. Having pitted later than the top two contenders, Duval was ready to pounce if the top two encountered problems late in the race; his late charge came up to within one-second of second-place Taylor.

Performance Tech MotorSports again carried the familiar Justice Brothers’ decals in the LMP3 class. The team ran in podium contention until encountering issues, eventually retiring with a drive train issue.

Dan Goldburg, Hikaru Abe, Garett Grist and Nico Pino co-drove Brent O’Neil’s No. 38 Cardio Access/DOGOH.jp/Emasa/AIG Ligier JS P320, retiring from the event with less than two hours remaining. The team was running in the top three when it was taken out by an LMP2 car during the night. From that point, it was a matter of playing catch-up while the crew struggled with various issues and freezing temperatures.

“I’m really proud of the crew for pushing threw and taking care of everything,” O’Neil said. “We’ll come back stronger at the next one.”

The “next one” will be another American endurance classic – the 70th running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. John Church’s JDC Miller MotorSports is defending winner of the event, set for Saturday, March 19.

Kaz Grala To Complete No. 02 Chevrolet Lineup For Young’s Motorsports in 2022

MOORESVILLE, N.C.: Young’s Motorsports confirmed today that NASCAR Camping World Truck Series winner, Kaz Grala, will return to the organization this season and drive the No. 02 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado in 11 races beginning at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway on March 4, 2022.

Grala, 23, is on track to be one of the busiest drivers in NASCAR this season, will split the flagship driving duties for the Mooresville, N.C.-based team with previously announced driver Jesse Little.

In addition to Las Vegas, Grala will compete at Circuit of the Americas (Texas), the Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway Dirt race, World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway (Ill.), Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway, Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Pocono (Pa.) Raceway, Richmond (Va.) Raceway, Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway and Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway.

Grala, a native of Boston, Mass., competed in three Truck Series races for Young’s Motorsports last season, delivering an average finish of 7.3 with his one top-five, two top-10’s, and three top-12’s. Grala battled for the lead all race long in the inaugural event at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas and brought the No. 02 Young’s Building Systems | Randco. Chevrolet Silverado home second after leading the first 11 laps.

“I’m so grateful to be returning to Young’s Motorsports with an even busier schedule for 2022,” said Grala. I will be racing at some of my favorite tracks throughout the season and will have even more chances to prove myself than I’ve had in years, starting at Las Vegas.”

It’s been a busy week for Grala. In addition to returning to Young’s Motorsports, Grala was recently named the driver of the No. 50 Pit Viper Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE for The Money Team Racing (TMTR), a brand-new NASCAR Cup Series team owned by five-division world champion and Boxing Hall of Famer Floyd “Money” Mayweather, which will vie for one of the 40 starting spots in this year’s Daytona 500 on February 20.

“Even though it was just a few races last year, Young’s Motorsports was one of the best teams to work with that I’ve ever been a part of, and I feel like our results reflected that. I can’t thank Tyler (Young, team principal) and the Young family enough for believing in me. I don’t plan to let them down!”

In his 36 Truck Series starts, Grala has achieved one win, one pole, six top-five and 17 top-10 finishes. In just his 10th Truck Series start, he pulled off an upset victory in the season-opening race at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, propelling the youngest winner in NASCAR history at the 2.5-mile superspeedway into the Truck Series Playoffs.

For Tyler Young, the pairing of two veteran and talented drivers like Grala and Little offers the opportunity for Young’s Motorsports to continue their winning ways in the 23-race schedule which kicks off at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on Feb. 18, 2022.

“We are beyond stoked to welcome back Kaz Grala to Young’s Motorsports this season,” said Young. “Even with his limited starts and track time with our team last year, he was able to climb into the truck and make the most of each opportunity, nearly putting us in Victory Lane at Circuit of the Americas.

Eckes inks full-time Camping World Truck Series ride with ThorSport Racing

ThorSport Racing announced that Christian Eckes will be returning to the organization and campaign as a full-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor for the upcoming racing season.

Eckes, a 21-year-old native from Middletown, New York, and the 2019 ARCA Menards Series champion, will be piloting the No. 98 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro and carry sponsorship support from AHI Facility Services, Inc. for the season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway. He will be a teammate to three-time Truck Series champion Matt Crafton and the reigning Truck Series champion Ben Rhodes.

Eckes is coming off a part-time season with ThorSport Racing, where he drove the No. 98 Toyota in nine of the 23-race schedule while sharing the ride with Grant Enfinger. During his stint, Eckes scored his first Truck Series career victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in September during the 2021 Truck Series Playoffs and recorded an additional four top-10 results.

“I am extremely excited to be back with ThorSport Racing and ready to kick the year off at Daytona with AHI Facility Services on the No. 98 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro,” Eckes said. “This is an amazing opportunity and I’m more than ready to show that I belong.”

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with ThorSport Racing this season,” Todd Haddock, President of AHI Facility Services, Inc., added, “I am excited to see the AHI Facility Services Toyota Tundra TRD Pro hit the track at Daytona with Christian Eckes.”

Prior to ThorSport Racing, Eckes made 35 Truck career starts for Kyle Busch Motorsports from 2018 to 2020. He competed for KBM on a full-time basis in 2020, where he made the 2020 Truck Series Playoffs and finished in eighth place in the final standings.

Through 2021, Eckes has recorded one victory, three poles, 12 top-five results, 23 top-10 results and an average-finishing result of 13.2 in 45 career starts in the Truck Series.

Eckes’ full-time campaign with ThorSport Racing is set to commence at Daytona International Speedway on February 18 with coverage to occur at 7:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
