CURE Token Teams up with Kaulig Racing and Noah Gragson

Gragson to Drive the No. 16 CURE Token Camaro ZL1 at Fall Kansas Race

LEXINGTON, N.C. (January 25, 2022) – Kaulig Racing and Noah Gragson will team up with charity-based cryptocurrency, CURE Token, during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month at Kansas Speedway.

CURE Token was created by Jacob Beckley to raise awareness for childhood cancer and help families touched by it. Backed by the Beckley Foundation, CURE Token’s mission is to bring awareness to childhood cancers, fund cancer research, and directly support families affected by pediatric cancer. As CURE grows, Jacob also hopes to use the power of blockchain technology to completely revolutionize healthcare as we know it.

“Partnering one of the most well-recognized sports in the world with pediatric cancer, this collaboration is a reminder of what happens when people come together for a great cause,” said Jacob Beckley, Founder of CURE Token. “The Beckley Foundation, CURE Token, and Gragson are working to further the mission of supporting pediatric cancer research and bringing awareness to the devastating consequences of cancer. Pediatric cancer goes well beyond its patient, it affects the families, friends, and communities. CURE Token aims to lessen those affects with the hope that, one day, we will not be defined by the word cancer.”

Earlier this week, the team announced Gragson’s part-time NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) schedule at Kaulig Racing, which will include 14 events throughout the 2022 season. CURE token has signed on for the fall event at Kansas Speedway on September 11.

“I am humbled to represent CURE Token and to work with Founder Jacob Beckley and the Beckley Foundation,” said Gragson. “It is an honor to represent a crypto company and foundation that supports such a great cause. Helping raise awareness for pediatric cancer is very important to me and the entire Kaulig Racing team. I look forward to racing the CURE Token No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at Kansas Speedway in the fall of 2022.”

The partnership with CURE Token has extra special meaning for Kaulig Racing team owner, Matt Kaulig, whose involvement with Akron Children’s Hospital earned him the title of the 2020 Champion for Children Award.

“Our new-found partnership with CURE Token is one that is special to me for many reasons,” said team owner, Matt Kaulig. “The fight against pediatric cancer is one that is near and dear to me. I’m excited to be able to continue bringing awareness to this cause through CURE Token.”

Kaulig Racing’s No. 16 CURE Token Camaro ZL1 will compete in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (January 25, 2022): Young’s Motorsports confirmed today that NASCAR Whelen Modified standout and veteran NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) driver Danny Bohn will join the team for next month’s season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.

North American Motor Car is a premier destination for automotive enthusiasts in the Northeast, offering world-class services including custom restoration, maintenance, upholstery repair, professional detailing, aftermarket accessory installation, storage and automotive shipping and receiving for exotic and classic cars, hot rods, 4x4s, and motorcycles.

Bohn’s relationship with the team is currently a one-race agreement with a vision to increase his schedule in 2022. He will complete the organization’s lineup for the Feb. 18 NextEra Energy Resources 250 joining previously announced drivers Spencer Boyd and Jesse Little.

“I am very excited about joining Young’s Motorsports for Daytona,” said Bohn. “Time and time again Young’s Motorsports have shown that they build very fast Chevrolet Silverados for the superspeedway races and I am excited to be able to drive one of them next month at Daytona.

“Young’s Motorsports is the most recent superspeedway winner in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and I definitely want to do my part to help keep that statistic alive working alongside my teammates Spencer (Boyd) and Jesse (Little).”

Bohn rose into prominence in 2012 when he earned NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour championship runner-up, Rookie of the Year and Most Popular Driver honors. Bohn followed that up with the 2014 modified track championship at the famed Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C. A Bohn winning races is nothing new. Both Bohn’s grandfather, Parker Bohn, and father, Eddie Bohn, are legendary drivers and mechanics from New Jersey.

The Freehold, N.J. native has 33 Truck Series starts to his resume, including four top-10 finishes, most recently at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway last October where he finished eighth after starting 23rd in a truck also backed by North American Motor Car.

“We love Danny, Daytona and NASCAR, and have always been a huge supporter of the racing culture and lifestyle,” said COO and co-founder of North American Motor Car Andy Hill. “I know I am really looking forward to watching Danny and the No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado race at Daytona next month. It’s going to be exciting!”

“I am so happy to have our Daytona lineup finalized,” offered Young’s Motorsports team principal Tyler Young. “All three of our drivers are extremely excited and very experienced when it comes to superspeedway racing. Their knowledge, passion, focus and motivation will be a huge benefit for our organization.

“We’ve proven to be winners in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and are determined return to Victory Lane – it would be incredibly special to pull that off in the season-opener at Daytona! Era Motorsport Hungry for Repeat Rolex 24 Win

DAYTONA, Fla., (January 25, 2022) – With the Roar Before the 24 complete, all eyes at Era Motorsport are focused forward on this week’s main event: the 60th Rolex 24 At Daytona. The 2021 LMP2 class winners are looking for a repeat win in the No. 18 Oreca, driven by Dwight Merriman, Ryan Dalziel, Kyle Tilley, and Paul-Loup Chatin. Era Motorsport is one of three cars on the 2022 entry list where all drivers hold wins at the famed event.

The Indianapolis-based squad took full advantage of the three-day test at Daytona International Speedway last week, gaining valuable track time and opportunities to further develop their machinery. This marked the second year that the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship followed a newer qualifying format, offering a 100-minute race where the results of which would set the grid for this week’s Rolex 24 At Daytona.

While Era Motorsport had a strong speed in testing, a drive-plug issue during Dwight Merriman’s opening stint put the car far down the charts, without any hope of getting pole position. Determined to make the best of the situation, the team put secondary driver Paul-Loup Chatin behind the wheel and finished the car’s fuel load, gaining additional data and experience on track.

In 2021, Era Motorsport ran a clean and consistent race in the Rolex 24 At Daytona, starting third in the LMP2 class and tenth overall. The team focused on keeping the car clear from contact, running speedy lap times, but avoiding unnecessary risk. The strategy remained resolute into the night, and once morning arrived, the drivers, engineers, and crew rolled up their sleeves to dig in and fight to the end. As the race clock crept closer to the 24-hour mark, Era Motorsport closed the gap on the Tower Motorsports car, and with the stronger fuel strategy, outlasted the competition to take the lead in the final 30 minutes. Paul-Loup Chatin drove to the checker flag, earning the team’s first win in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. To make the win even more special, the team was sporting a livery designed by a six-year-old race fan, who will be present at this year’s race to cheer on the squad once again after attending the 2021 season finale at Petit Le Mans.

With a full-capacity field of 61 cars across five classes, steering clear of contact in order to be present to again fight in the end will reamin the focus of Era Motorsport, and likely the rest of the field. Last week’s qualifying race gave participants and fans a glimpse of what may be in store for the 24 hours of racing on Saturday. Multi-class traffic proved to be a stronger challenge than normal in the opening laps, with every competitor heavily vying for position cross Daytona International Speedway’s 3.87-mile road course.

With qualifying out of the way, race week will be filled with only practice sessions, giving competitors four separate sessions to continue to improve race craft and car balance before the race goes green on Saturday, January 29 at 1:40 pm Eastern. The race will stream live in its entirety on Peacock, NBC Universal’s online streaming platform. On U.S. television, the race will start live on NBC before airing select blocks live on USA. International audiences can visit IMSA’s international coverage page to find local listings.

We have assembled a great team and are well prepared after all their hard work. I’m very excited for the race and can’t wait for the green flag.

Ryan Dalziel
We rolled off the truck with a solid car and chipped away each session to slowly find speed. By Sunday’s race, we were a top-three or four car speed-wise, so I feel really good about where we will start the race weekend. The team is very much the same group as last year so having that continuity puts us in a great position to defend our Rolex 24 title.

Kyle Tilley
I’m very excited to get started this coming week! We worked hard during the Roar to have a car that was easy to drive over a long stint. The crew and engineers have been flawless so I think it’s all looking good! As with any 24-hour race the important thing will be to minimise any mistakes and focus on traffic management

Paul-Loup Chatin
I am really happy about the work we all did during the Roar. We have still some small details to adjust but I am confident for the big one. Like always, the goal will be to do our own race and to see where we are for the finals hours and to put it all together at the end to try to grab a second win in a row.

RISI COMPETIZIONE SETS UP NEW FERRARI 488 EVO FOR 2022 ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA DURING ROAR ACTIVITIES

Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo No. 62:
James Calado (GBR)
Alessandro Pier Guidi (ITA)
Davide Rigon (ITA)
Daniel Serra (BRA)

(Houston, Texas, January 24, 2022)…The Houston, Tex.-based Risi Competizione Ferrari team took their brand-new Ferrari 488 EVO to the track during the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Roar Before the 24 activities this past weekend in preparation for the 60th annual Rolex 24 At Daytona.

IMSA started the 2022 season on the 3.56-mile (5.73 km), 12-turn Daytona International Speedway road course with a jam-packed field of 61 entries, including 13 in the newly formed GTD Pro class, which replaces GTLM.

The No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo completed the Roar Before the 24 this past weekend with its impressive line-up of Ferrari factory GT drivers, James Calado of Worcester, UK, Alessandro Pier Guidi of Tortona, Italy, Davide Rigon of Thiene, Italy and Daniel Serra of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

(L-R) Risi Competizione drivers: Daniel Serra, James Calado, Davide Rigon and Alessandro Pier Guidi
Rigon qualified fifth in class for the Sunday, January 23 Daytona qualifying race but had an unanticipated drive train issue that had them start the race from the back of the field. In the end, he and Serra finished 11th in GTD Pro and thus will start the IMSA season opener Rolex 24 At Daytona endurance race this Saturday, January 29 from deep in the GT field, along with their two other co-pilots, Calado, and Pier Guidi.

Risi Competizione will be making the team’s 20th entry in the Rolex 24 At Daytona, with one of those a class victory in 2002. The Risi team will once again be the only Ferrari at The World Center of Racing’s twice-around-the-clock endurance race in its class.

The quad of Ferrari Competizioni GT factory drivers combines for a total of 29 Rolex 24 At Daytona starts. Calado will be starting his seventh Rolex 24 race, six of those with Risi and four finishes in the Top 5. Pier Guidi will be making his ninth Daytona 24-hour appearance, four previous with Risi, and the only current Risi driver with a GTD class victory (2014). Rigon will also be making his ninth Rolex appearance and seventh times with the Risi team. Serra will be making his eighth appearance and second with Risi.

The Risi Competizione team has been on the Daytona 24-hour podium on five occasions, most recently in 2019 with a second-place finish. Their class victory came in 2002. The other second-place finishes were in 1999 and 2003 and a third-place class finish in 2017.

Rick Mayer, Risi Competizione Race Engineer:
“All the drivers were happy with the car during the Roar sessions. We went through a run program just to make sure everyone had laps and that ergonomics are correct. We made a few set-up changes. I think we’re in a good window for the event start and we’re cautiously optimistic that we’ll do well this year.

“We’re glad to have these four drivers back – Ale, James, Davide and Daniel are all pros and know how to drive fast and how to keep a car for an endurance race.”

Davide Rigon, driver No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo:
“Our practice sessions this weekend went well. And Saturday I did the qualifying in half wet and half dry conditions. We finished P5 and were quite happy. Sunday morning we had some drive train issues so we fixed it and didn’t go out for the warm-up and started the qualifying race from the last position. Starting from the back was difficult to overtake with the large field. We were missing some speed on the straight-line and we need to work a little more on the balance of the car. The pit stop and driver change went very well, and we gained another position.

“So now the team will continue to prepare for the long race. I’m glad to have the driver line-up we have again and always happy to be back racing with the Risi Competizione team. Our goal, as always, is to fight for the victory.”

Daniel Serra, driver No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo:
“I think we have enough data to study and see where we can improve for the race. I think the Roar was a few good days of testing and each of the drivers could produce a few good laps. It was also important that we worked together with the Risi team since it was a whole year since we all worked together. I think it was a productive a few days here and now it’s time to see where we can improve for the race next week.”

James Calado, driver No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo:
“The Roar is not really relevant for the 24-hour race but it’s good. We were at the back of the grid due to some issues before the start of the qualifying race, but our main goal was to get some laps, make sure the car was okay and to improve the reliability because it’s a brand-new car. We think we’re fine for the race and we’ll see next week. We don’t know what the others are doing, as usual. Historically we’ve never really performed as well in Daytona but we’re all staying positive, and we’ll see where we are at the end of 24 hours next Sunday.”

Alessandro Pier Guidi, driver No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo:
“It was good to get some laps in and work on the set-up of the car with the team. In terms of balance and the work we did at the Roar was quite positive. We are happy with the car, even if we are not the strongest in terms of performance with the current BoP (balance of performance) and we are trying to manage some of the issues we had. It’s a new car so that was important in order to be ready for the race next weekend.

Davide and Daniel did the Roar qualifying race. There is more traffic this year with 61 cars and a larger class than in past year with the new GTD Pro class and with many manufacturers. It should be an exciting race for the fans. For the drivers passing will be more difficult for sure.”

Sponsors for the 2022 season for Risi Competizione for the Rolex 24 include Pennzoil, Ferrari of Houston, 1st Phorm, Michelin, OMP Racing and Rotiform.

Three practice sessions take place Thursday, January 27, 11:05 a.m.-12:35 p.m. (all classes), 1:00-2:15 p.m. (GTD Pro and DPi classes) and night practice from 7:15-9:00 p.m. (all classes). Friday will feature a morning practice session from 11:20 a.m. for one hour (all classes). The race starts at 1:40 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 29 and runs for 24 hours.
