MATT SMITH TAKES OVER PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE POINTS LEAD, LOOKS TO CONTINUE MOMENTUM IN ST. LOUIS

Pro Stock’s Greg Anderson is hopeful for more success at NHRA Midwest Nationals

ST. LOUIS (Sept. 26, 2024) – For the first time in the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, the Pro Stock Motorcycle class has a new points leader. That rider is none other than six-time champion Matt Smith and as the series heads to St. Louis for this weekend’s 13th annual NHRA Midwest Nationals at World Wide Technology Raceway, Smith will look to extend that points lead in hopes of earning his seventh world title.

Smith, rider of the Denso Auto Parts Buell, took over the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle points lead from reigning champion Gaige Herrera following his win last weekend at the NHRA Carolina Nationals. As Smith and the rest of the riders set their sights on the halfway mark of the playoffs in St. Louis, he’ll be ready to carry his momentum into the third race of the NHRA Countdown to the Championship.

“I feel good about St. Louis,” Smith said. “I’ve won that race a lot and I think we have good momentum. We have to get a couple of our other bikes running better in our camp, to help out and get up here in the points, too. I think St. Louis is going to be hard. We’re in a dog fight. We all know that the Vance & Hines group is tough. I think you’ll see them step their stuff up a little bit more come St. Louis.”

Last season, Clay Millican (Top Fuel), Matt Hagan (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) all collected wins in St. Louis and this year’s race will again be broadcast on FS1, with elimination coverage airing at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 29. It is the 17th of 20 races during the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season and finishes off a stretch of three straight race weekends to open the Countdown to the Championship.

Smith has five wins at World Wide Technology, which is the most in PSM history at the fan-favorite facility. He has two wins on the season, including his victory last week as well as in Sonoma earlier this summer. With Herrera just 25 points back and rookie Richard Gadson only 27 points behind, Smith will need to continue to turn on win lights if he wants to extend his lead in his run to Pro Stock Motorcycle history.

“I like being under pressure,” said Smith. “It doesn’t matter what you do in the regular season, you have to be good the last six races. I’ve always been pretty good the last six races and that’s how you win championships and that’s how I will continue to race.

“You have to put your best foot forward. A lot of times you test a lot of stuff during the regular season, but we stepped up when we needed to in Sonoma and stepped up in Charlotte and we’re going to go to St. Louis and try to step up a little bit more. Everything is looking really promising and if we can find a little bit more power, I think we’ll be really good.”

Pro Stock’s Anderson, driver of the HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro, has two wins on the 2024 season at Phoenix and the Charlotte spring race. He has back-to-back semifinal appearances in the Countdown but knows he will need to continue to win rounds in order to stay in contention for his sixth NHRA world championship.

Dallas Glenn took over the points lead in Charlotte with his fourth win of the year, but it’s a tight group among the top four. Aaron Stanfield, who has five wins in 2024, is just eight points back, while defending world champion Erica Enders and Anderson trail by 53 and 74 points, respectively.

“Charlotte was a good weekend for us,” said Anderson. “On Sunday, our KB Titan cars were the best, and we were able to capitalize on that and put one of them in the winner’s circle (Glenn). I fully believe that we can carry that momentum on to St. Louis.

“This is the most exciting time of the year in NHRA drag racing, across the board, and it’s the most pressure-packed of all – just how we like it. Everyone in this camp works darn hard all year long, and every one of us are pulling the rope in the same direction. This team was built to win races and championships, and I absolutely believe I have a great shot this year. It feels good to be in the game with the HendrickCars.com Chevy, and I’m thrilled that we get to head right to St. Louis and keep working toward the goal.”

Former Top Fuel champion Antron Brown currently leads the points, thanks to his back-to-back Countdown wins. Justin Ashley, who has three wins on the season, trails Brown by 53 points while former champion Shawn Langdon is third. Reigning world champion Doug Kalitta is fourth and Millican is fifth thanks to his win at the U.S. Nationals.

In Funny Car, Hagan will try for his second straight St. Louis win in hopes of trying to track down points leader Austin Prock, who has won three straight races. Others to watch include Jack Beckman, who is driving for John Force, Bob Tasca III, J.R. Todd, Ron Capps and rookie Daniel Wilkerson.

The NHRA Midwest Nationals also will feature thrilling competition in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, as well as the Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by LearnEV+, Holley EFI Factory X and Flexjet NHRA Factory Stock Showdown. It is the penultimate race in Pro Mod’s “Road to the Championship” and the final race of the season in Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown. The ET Racing Showcase, Jr. Arch Shootout, Budweiser Challenge, high school challenge and Jr. Dragster Shootout will all take place during the weekend as well.

Fans will be invited all weekend long to the Nitro Alley Stage, which is the main entertainment hub in the pits, hosting Nitro School, meet and greets, music and much more. Race fans at World Wide Technology Raceway can enjoy the special pre-race ceremonies that introduce and celebrate each of the drivers racing for the prestigious Wally on Sunday and includes the fan favorite SealMaster Track Walk. The final can’t-miss experience of any NHRA event is the winner’s circle celebration on Sunday after racing concludes, where fans are invited to congratulate the St. Louis event winners.

As always, fans get a pit pass to the most powerful and sensory-filled motorsports attraction on the planet. Fans can see their favorite teams in action and servicing their hot rods between rounds, get autographs from their favorite NHRA drivers, and more. They can also visit NHRA’s Manufacturers Midway, where sponsors and race vendors create an exciting atmosphere that includes interactive displays, merchandise, food, and fun.

NHRA Mission Food Drag Racing Series qualifying will feature two rounds at 12 and 2:30 p.m. CT on Friday, Sept. 27, and the final two rounds on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 12 and 2:30 p.m. Final eliminations are scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on Sunday, Sept. 29. Television coverage includes qualifying action on FS1 at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 27 and 2 p.m. ET on Sunday Sept. 29, with eliminations starting at 3 p.m. ET on FS1 on Sunday.

Tickets may be purchased at the WWTR ticket office, by phone at (618) 215-8888, or online at www.wwtraceway.com. All children 12 and under will be admitted free in the general admission area with a paid adult. For more information on NHRA, visit www.NHRA.com.

South Florida Motorsports unveils four new circuit layouts at the Miami International Autodrome to support year-round track action

Credit: South Florida Motorsports
  • The Miami International Autodrome, home of the FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX, now boasts five complete track configurations
  • These developments allow MIA to host new competitive motorsports action, along with private and corporate events throughout the year
  • The four new ‘inner loop’ track layouts can be operated with no impact to local traffic or infrastructure
  • The 2025 edition of the prestigious Ferrari Racing Days will take place on the new Extended Marina Loop configuration from May 14-18, 2025, following next year’s FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX
  • Hard Rock Stadium campus continues its evolution as a global sports and entertainment destination

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – South Florida Motorsports (SFM), organizers of the FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX, announced today the completion of four new track configurations of the Miami International Autodrome — in addition to the current Grand Prix layout — to enable the circuit to be operational throughout the year. This development is the latest step in SFM’s investment into the growth of motorsports in South Florida and Hard Rock Stadium’s evolution as a global destination for diverse sports and entertainment offerings.

After building the iconic racetrack in 2022, and one of the largest and most prestigious permanent Paddock Club facilities in Formula 1 in 2023, SFM has now constructed four new circuit configurations to provide year-round access to the Miami International Autodrome at Hard Rock Stadium. These new ‘inner loop’ layouts are constructed exclusively on private property and do not cross public roads.

In addition to attracting new competitive motorsports events, these track developments also allow the Miami International Autodrome to host a variety of corporate functions and other private track activities at the world-class venue throughout the year.

“This is an exciting time to be a motorsports enthusiast here in South Florida,” said Tom Garfinkel, Managing Partner of the FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX. “Our investment into the facility and construction of the inner loop creates five track configurations worthy of the world’s most elite drivers and allows us to engage with the growing motorsports community of South Florida while also respecting the impact to local residents and businesses. There’s a thriving car culture here in South Florida and this investment enables us to better serve this growing group of automotive enthusiasts, as well as utilizing our campus for more community programming, including education and career opportunities for local youth and students.”

The plans coincide with the announcement that Ferrari Racing Days will compete on the Extended Marina Loop layout from May 14-18, 2025, just two weeks after next year’s FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX, which takes place on May 2-4, 2025. Ferrari Racing Days will include multiple categories of action, headlined by Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, as well as Ferrari’s exclusive F1 Clienti, XX Programmes, Sport Prototipi Clienti and Club Competizioni GT programs.

The new section of track was built after Turn 10, heading back towards the straight that runs parallel with Snake Creek. Two additional hairpins, just before Turn 17 and after Turn 3, offer other exciting layouts for permanent use. The construction of a new section of track and two new hairpins will create five configurations of the Miami International Autodrome, including the 19-turn 5.41km Grand Prix circuit, the Extended Marina Loop (19 turns in 4.52km), the Marina Loop (18 turns across 3.94km), the Extended MIA Loop (13 turns across 2.30km) and finally MIA Loop (14 turns across 2.83km). The track will commence operations for corporate and private events in October 2024.

21 Team To Honor Cancer Hero Michael Dryman at Kansas

Harrison Burton and the No. 21 Menards/Dutch Boy team will honor Michael Dryman of Hendersonville, N.C., during the upcoming Hollywood Casino 400 weekend at Kansas Speedway as part of the Honor A Cancer Hero program. The initiative is presented by Advent Health and supported by the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation and the NASCAR Foundation.

Dryman, who has been battling stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer, was nominated by Jordan Wood Hicks, a co-owner of the No. 21 Menards/Dutch Boy Mustang Dark Horse. For the past three and a half years Dryman has undergone numerous surgeries and chemotherapy/radiation treatments.

He is the husband of Sasha Soares, who is employed by Team Penske and works closely with the Wood Brothers team. Dryman has two sons, Connor and Colton Dryman.

In nominating Dryman, Hicks wrote: “Michael has many friends in the racing community and appreciates their support and well wishes as he continues to fight each day.”

Although the Menards/Dutch Boy team won’t be in the battle for the championship going forward as they were eliminated after the opening round of the Playoffs, there’s still much to be gained as the premier series heads to Kansas Speedway for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400.

In the three races of the Round of 16, Burton and the Wood Brothers team proved they were capable of advancing in the Playoffs, but the breaks didn’t go their way.

“We were within 100 yards of a good finish at Atlanta and got caught up in a wreck,” Eddie Wood said. “Then we had a flat tire at Watkins Glen and power steering issues at Bristol.

“We’re out of Playoff contention now, but we can still gain as many points as we can. We can move up as high as fifth place, which is a pretty tall order, but it’s kind of like the old-style points system where you’re going for as many points as you can get.”

Burton and the No. 21 Menards/Dutch Boy team enter the weekend at Kansas Speedway 16th in the standings, 17 points behind 15th-place Brad Keselowski.

As the early, three-race rounds of the Playoffs conclude, the bottom four drivers and teams are dropped from championship contention and are left to settle the fifth through the 16th positions in the final standings. The top four will compete for the title and the next three points positions in the season finale at Phoenix.

There are four of us now,” Wood said. “There will be eight down the road and then 12.”

Practice for the Hollywood Casino 400 is set for Saturday at 12:05 Central Time (1:05 p.m. Eastern Time), to be followed by qualifying at 12:45.

Sunday’s 267-lap race is scheduled to get the green flag at 2 p.m. (3 p.m. Eastern) with TV coverage on USA Network.

Stage breaks are planned for Laps 80 and 165.

Wood Brothers Racing
Wood Brothers Racing was formed in 1950 in Stuart, Va., by Hall of Famer Glenn Wood. Wood Brothers Racing is the oldest active team and one of the winningest teams in NASCAR history. Since its founding, the team won 99 races (including at least one race in every decade for the last seven decades) and 120 poles in NASCAR’s top-tier series. Fielding only Ford products for its entire history, the Wood Brothers own the longest association of any motorsports team with a single manufacturer. Glenn’s brother, Leonard, is known for inventing the modern pit stop. The team currently runs the Ford Mustang driven by Harrison Burton in the famous No. 21 racer.

Key Considerations When Looking for New Vehicles for Sale in Houston

Shopping for a new vehicle can be an exciting yet daunting experience, especially in a vibrant city like Houston, where options abound. With countless dealerships and a diverse range of makes and models, it’s crucial to approach your search thoughtfully. Here are essential factors to consider to help you find the perfect new vehicles for sale Houston for your needs.

1. Identify Your Needs

Before diving into the market, assess what you need in a vehicle. Consider your daily driving habits, the size of your family, and any specific features you desire. Ask yourself:

  • What will you primarily use the vehicle for?
  • Commuting, family outings, or weekend adventures?
  • How many passengers do you need to accommodate?
  • Compact cars work well for singles or couples, while SUVs or minivans may be better for larger families.
  • Do you have specific features in mind?
  • Consider safety features, fuel efficiency, technology, and comfort amenities.

Identifying your needs early on will streamline your search and ensure you focus on vehicles that meet your lifestyle.

2. Budget Considerations

Establishing a clear budget is vital. Determine how much you can afford for both the purchase price and ongoing expenses like insurance, fuel, and maintenance. Consider these budgeting tips in your new vehicles for sale houston:

Down Payment: Aim for a substantial down payment to reduce your monthly payments and overall interest.

Financing Options: Research financing options through banks, credit unions, and dealership financing to find the best interest rates.

Total Cost of Ownership: Don’t just look at the sticker price; consider long-term costs, including insurance premiums and resale value.

3. Research and Reviews

Once you have a budget and an idea of your needs, it’s time to research potential vehicles. Online resources like Edmunds, Kelley Blue Book, and Consumer Reports provide detailed reviews and comparisons. Pay attention to:

Reliability Ratings: Understanding a vehicle’s long-term reliability can save you money on repairs.

Safety Ratings: Look for vehicles with high safety ratings from organizations like the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Owner Reviews: Customer feedback can provide insights into real-world experiences with specific models.

4. Test Drive

Never underestimate the importance of a test drive. This step allows you to experience how a vehicle handles and whether it meets your comfort and functionality expectations. During your test drive, consider:

Comfort and Ergonomics: Is the seating comfortable? Do the controls feel intuitive?

Visibility and Handling: Assess how well you can see out of the vehicle and how it feels on the road.

Noise Levels: Pay attention to cabin noise at different speeds.

5. Evaluate Dealer Reputation

Choosing the right dealership can greatly impact your buying experience. Research local dealerships in Houston to find one with a good reputation. Consider:

Customer Service: Look for reviews highlighting the dealer’s customer service, including responsiveness and transparency.

After-Sales Support: A reputable dealership should provide ongoing support, including warranty coverage and maintenance services.

6. Negotiate and Finalize the Deal

Once you’ve found the vehicle that suits your needs, be prepared to negotiate the price. Research the fair market value of the vehicle you want and use this information to make an informed offer. Remember to:

Be Polite but Firm: Negotiating is a standard part of the car-buying process. Don’t hesitate to walk away if the deal doesn’t meet your expectations.

Read the Fine Print: Before signing any contracts, carefully read the terms to understand financing, warranties, and return policies.

Final Words

Finding a new vehicle in Houston can be a rewarding journey if you approach it with careful consideration and planning. By identifying your needs, establishing a budget, researching vehicles, and engaging with reputable dealerships, you can make an informed decision that best fits your lifestyle. Happy car hunting!

CHEVROLET HEADS TO NHRA’S MIDWEST NATIONALS HOLDING CHAMPIONSHIP POINT LEADS IN FUNNY CAR, PRO STOCK, AND FLEXJET FACTORY STOCK SHOWDOWN

Notes:

  • Team Chevy next heads west in the Countdown to the Championship to World Wide Technology Raceway for the NHRA Midwest Nationals Sept. 27-29.
  • Austin Prock, driver of the AAA Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car, leads the point standings by 129 over Bob Tasca, III in second heading into the NHRA Midwest Nationals this weekend after capturing his seventh win in 16 races so far this season at Charlotte 2, as well his third victory in a row and going two-for-two in the Countdown.
  • Driving the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car on behalf of 16-time champion John Force, Jack Beckman, a two-time champion himself, enters World Wide Technology Raceway third in the points standings 136 back from teammate Prock.
  • Qualifying in the No. 1 position heading into race day for the third time this season at Charlotte 2, Brittany Force, driver of the Monster Energy Chevrolet Top Fuel dragster, enters the weekend looking for redemption and continuing to build on progress made to return to the Winner’s Circle.
  • In a tight battle in Pro Stock, Dallas Glenn, driver of the RAD Torque Systems Chevrolet Camaro SS, reclaimed the points lead after his win at his home race in Charlotte, leading by just eight points over Aaron Stanfield in second and 53 points over Erica Enders in third.
  • The FlexJet Factory Stock Showdown Chevrolet COPO Camaro competitors return to action in their season finale event at World Wide Technology Raceway, with Chevrolet currently leading and holding second. David Janac sits first over Stephen Bell, separated by 26 points heading into the NHRA Midwest Nationals.

Quotes:

AUSTIN PROCK, DRIVER OF THE AAA CHEVROLET CAMARO SS FUNNY CAR:

“Ready to get back into the seat of our Cornwell Camaro SS. We’ve got some good momentum going so that always makes a race week exciting! Love going to St. Louis. It’s a close one to home, and Chris Blair always puts on a great show (at World Wide Technology Raceway).”

JACK BECKMAN, DRIVER OF THE PEAK ANTIFREEZE AND COOLANT CHEVROLET CAMARO SS FUNNY CAR:

“Charlotte represented a bit of a dichotomy for our PEAK team. We had another solid weekend and won rounds, yet we felt we underachieved. We gained points towards moving into second place in the points, yet we fell further behind the leader, teammate Austin Prock. Our mission, winning the Championship for John Force, is becoming more clearly defined. It entails continually improving not just our car’s performance, but also my driving skills. All of us are up for the challenge and planning to showcase that this weekend in St Louis. This PEAK Chevy team has earned bonus points in eight straight qualifying runs, and 11 of the last 13, which is unprecedented. That kind of consistency surely will translate into race wins soon.”

BRITTANY FORCE, DRIVER OF THE MONSTER ENERGY CHEVROLET TOP FUEL DRAGSTER:

“I can’t believe we are heading to St. Louis and race number three in this countdown. We are coming off a No. 1 Qualifier in Charlotte, and I’m confident that we can build off of it. World Wide Tech Raceway will bring much cooler temperatures than what we’ve had in recent events and this David Grubnic-run team runs well in those conditions. Our focus remains one run at a time. We need to qualify in the top five to pick up some points on Friday and Saturday. This Monster Energy Chevy team has worked incredibly hard and remains focused on getting back in the Winner’s Circle this weekend.”

How to Watch:

The NHRA Midwest Nationals from World Wide Technology Raceway air first with Friday qualifying on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) at 7:30 p.m. ET. Sunday sees Saturday’s qualifying air at 2 p.m. ET, followed by Finals at 3 p.m. ET on FS1. Coverage streams live throughout the weekend on NHRA.tv, and is available via AppleTV, Android TV, and Roku devices.

FUNNY CAR’S JACK BECKMAN FOCUSED ON FIRST WIN FOR FORCE HEADING TO NHRA MIDWEST NATIONALS

ST. LOUIS (Sept. 25, 2024) – It’s been a great return to the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series for Funny Car fan-favorite Jack Beckman, who took over driving duties for legendary driver John Force in Brainerd following Force’s June crash.

He’ll head to World Wide Technology Raceway for the first time in four years, full of excitement to race at this weekend’s 13th annual NHRA Midwest Nationals. Beckman has enjoyed a strong playoff run thus far, advancing to the finals in Reading and the semifinals in Charlotte, sitting third in points as he tries to win a 17th championship for the iconic Force.

In fact, the only thing left for Beckman to do is to win a race in the 11,000-horsepower PEAK Chevrolet Camaro SS – well, and beat points leader and John Force Racing teammate Austin Prock, too.

Prock has continued his dominant 2024 season in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs, winning the first two playoff races and stretching his winning streak to three races. He’s knocked off Beckman in the finals and semifinals at the playoff stops, but the good news for both is JFR continues to impress at the most important time of the year.

“I think everything has gone well for us,” Beckman said. “Austin is the guy with the target is on his back and what they’re doing this year has just been dominant. What they’ve done is unprecedented. We’ve done a good job and went rounds, but we’ve lost points to the one car we’re chasing for a championship.

“All of us are up for the challenge and (we’re) planning to showcase that this weekend in St Louis. This PEAK Chevy team has earned bonus points in eight straight qualifying runs, and 11 of the last 13, which is unprecedented. That kind of consistency surely will translate into race wins soon.”

Last season, Clay Millican (Top Fuel), Matt Hagan (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) all collected wins in St. Louis and this year’s race will again be broadcast on FS1, with elimination coverage airing at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 29. It is the 17th of 20 races during the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season and closes a stretch of three straight race weekends to open the Countdown to the Championship.

Like many, Beckman is thrilled to return to St. Louis, which has annually drawn huge crowds for the playoff race. He has two career victories at the facility, while Force has won three times in St. Louis. That bodes well for success, but Beckman remains impressed by what his teammate is doing, as well as the rest of a talented Funny Car category that includes Bob Tasca III, who is seven points ahead of Beckman in second and 129 points back of Prock, reigning world champ Hagan, Ron Capps, J.R. Todd and rookie Daniel Wilkerson.

Things, though, are trending in the right direction for Beckman, who hopes to make another big move this weekend in St. Louis.

“Right now, there’s so many great cars out there. Our goal is to win a race and the way Austin is running, it’s going to be tough on all of us,” Beckman said. “But Tasca is running well, Hagan, J.R. and on down the line. It’s going to be a real challenge and the winner in all this is the fans, but at the end of the year we want Team Force No. 1 and No. 2. Our mission – winning the championship for John Force – is becoming more clearly defined.”

A second straight Top Fuel win in St. Louis for Millican would do wonders for his title chances. Antron Brown, a five-time winner at the track, has swept the first two playoff races to move into the points lead, while other title contenders include Shawn Langdon, Justin Ashley, defending world champ Doug Kalitta and Steve Torrence.

Anderson, the winningest Pro Stock driver, has three wins at St. Louis. He’ll need another to stay close to KB Titan Racing teammate and Pro Stock points leader Dallas Glenn, and five-time 2024 winner Aaron Stanfield. Defending world champ Erica Enders has six wins in St. Louis – the most of any driver in NHRA history.

Reigning Pro Stock Motorcycle champion Herrera will look to repeat in St. Louis as he tries to move back into the points lead. TEAM CHEVY NASCAR RACE ADVANCE: Kansas Speedway

TEAM CHEVY ADVANCE

Kansas Speedway

The second stop of a trio of tripleheader weekends will see NASCAR make its final trip to the Midwest this season, with Kansas Speedway set to host a playoff race for all three national touring series. The weekend gets underway under the lights Friday evening with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ Kubota Tractor 200, marking the series’ first playoff elimination race of the season. On Saturday, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will make its first and only appearance at the 1.5-mile oval to kick off its postseason competition with the Kansas Lottery 300. Capping off the weekend will be NASCAR’s top division with Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 – the first of three races in the Round of 12.

Chevrolet in the NASCAR Cup Series at Kansas Speedway:

The NASCAR Cup Series’ last appearance at Kansas Speedway saw Chevrolet’s Kyle Larson make a historical trip to victory lane. In an overtime attempt, Larson battled side-by-side with fellow competitor, Chris Buescher, all the way to a photo finish that saw the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet team take the victory by a mere 0.001 seconds – a victory that went down as the closest finish in NASCAR history. The victory extended Chevrolet’s series-leading win record at Kansas Speedway, with the manufacturer heading into the weekend with 14 victories at the 1.5-mile oval.

With the victory, Larson also delivered Hendrick Motorsports the title as the winningest organization in Cup Series’ history at Kansas Speedway, with the team now sitting at nine all-time triumphs at the track. Hendrick Motorsports got an early start to its winning ways at Kansas Speedway when Jeff Gordon captured the victory in the series’ first two events at the 1.5-mile oval (Sept. 2001-02). To this day, the career Chevrolet driver is one of only four drivers in series’ history to post consecutive wins at the track.

TEAM CHEVY SET TO TACKLE ROUND OF 12

The opening round of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs was nothing short of dramatic, but Chevrolet was the only manufacturer that saw each of its title contenders advance into the Round of 12. Team Chevy’s playoff contenders will face yet another set of diverse tracks in the second round, including an intermediate oval (Kansas Speedway), a superspeedway (Talladega Superspeedway) and a road course (Charlotte ROVAL).

With the playoff rankings restacked, Kyle Larson has found his way back to the top of the leaderboard – heading into the Round of 12 with a strong 39-point cushion over the cutline. Carrying the momentum of a dominant victory at Bristol Motor Speedway last weekend, the 32-year-old Elk Grove, California, native returns to Kansas Speedway as the series’ most recent winner at the track. Larson’s victory in the May event marked his sixth-straight top-eight finish at the track, which also included another victory that came in his title-earning season (Oct. 2021).

Top Point Getters

Alex Bowman started out the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs as the 12th-seeded driver. But with a combination of good execution and strong points days in the first three races, the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet team was able to clinch their berth into the next round mid-way through the first elimination race. Overall, Bowman led the entire Cup Series field in points accumulated in the opening round with 120 points, which included a top-five finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway and a ninth-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Daniel Suarez proved that every point matters in playoff competition. The 32-year-old Monterrey, Mexico, native entered the elimination weekend with a 36-point advantage over the cutline after a pair of strong performances at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Watkins Glen International. Despite a dismal night at Bristol Motor Speedway, the No. 99 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet team took advantage of a strong points cushion to still punch a ticket into the next round. At the conclusion of the opening round, Suarez also netted out in the top-10 of total points accrued with 79 points.

EIGHT TEAM CHEVY DRIVERS TO CHASE XFINITY SERIES TITLE

As the checkered flag flew at Bristol Motor Speedway last weekend, the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ 12-driver playoff field was set as the series begins its seven-race stretch to the championship. A dominating force of Team Chevy drivers have earned a postseason position, with eight drivers representing four different Chevrolet organizations remaining in title contention.

Despite a tumultuous regular season finale, JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier will enter the playoff opener as the top-seeded driver with a 27-point cushion over the cutline. This season marks Allgaier’s ninth appearance in the Xfinity Series playoffs, keeping the veteran as the only driver in series’ history to compete in all nine playoffs (2016-2024). Among those playoff appearances includes a series-leading six trips to the Championship Four, scoring a career-best second in the final points standings on two separate occasions (2020 and 2023). A steady stream of postseason stats could very well steer the Jim Pohlman-led team to the long-awaited championship title this season.

“I really believe that he (Justin Allgaier) is in the best possible position to win it,” said team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. “He and Jim (Pohlman, crew chief) have a past and a trust in each other. When he asked to have Jim as his crew chief, I was like – alright, you’re picking your guy. And man, it’s been as good as you could hope.”

Joining Allgaier in the quest to deliver Chevrolet its 22nd Xfinity Series Driver Championship includes fellow JR Motorsports teammates Sam Mayer and Sammy Smith; Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Hill and Jesse Love; Kaulig Racing’s Shane van Gisbergen and AJ Allmendinger; and Big Machine Racing’s Parker Kligerman.

ECKES, SANCHEZ LOCKS-IN AHEAD OF ELIMINATION RACE

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has approached its first elimination race of the 2024 playoffs, with Friday’s 134-lap race determining the eight drivers that will continue on in the chase for the championship. Among the three drivers that have already pointed their way into the next round includes Team Chevy’s Christian Eckes and Nick Sanchez.

Eckes and the No. 19 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Chevrolet team continues to prove to be a championship favorite, entering the weekend with now seven-straight top-four finishes. The 23-year-old Middletown, New York, native heads to Kansas Speedway at the top of the playoff standings with a monstrous 95-point cushion over the cutline. Looking to build on his points advantage, Eckes returns to a track where he has found recent success, including a trip to victory lane one year ago (Sept. 2023).

Sanchez and the No. 2 Rev Racing Chevrolet team already punched their ticket into the next round after a pair of top-five finishes to start the postseason competition. In just three career starts at the 1.5-mile Kansas venue, the 23-year-old Miami, Florida, native has finished no worse than eighth, including a sixth-place result earlier this season (May 2024).

With five positions still up for grabs, three Team Chevy playoff contenders will enter the elimination weekend above the cutline. Leading the charge for the Bowtie brigade includes Spire Motorsports’ Rajah Caruth, who netted his first career stage win and a podium finish at Bristol Motor Speedway, putting him fifth in the playoff standings with a 35-point advantage over the cutline. McAnally-Hilgemann Racing’s Tyler Ankrum heads to the Midwest in the sixth position (+25 points), with former Kansas Speedway winner, CR7 Motorsports’ Grant Enfinger, rounding out the top-eight (+7 points). While on the outside looking in, Daniel Dye and the No. 43 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Chevrolet team remains in striking distance, entering the weekend in the ninth position and just seven points below the cutline. The 20-year-old DeLand, Florida, native posted a top-10 effort at his last appearance at Kansas Speedway, while also scoring a career-best runner-up finish on an intermediate oval during the summer stretch (Nashville Superspeedway – June 2024).

BOWTIE BULLETS:

· In 13 tripleheader weekends this season, Chevrolet is the only manufacturer to earn a weekend sweep – accomplishing the feat three times (Daytona International Speedway, Atlanta Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway).

· With 74 races complete across NASCAR’s three national series this season, Chevrolet has earned a winning percentage of 47.3% with 35 victories (NASCAR Cup Series – 12 wins; NASCAR Xfinity Series – 14 wins; NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series – nine wins).

· Active Chevrolet drivers with a NASCAR Cup Series win at Kansas Speedway:

Kyle Busch – two wins (2021, 2016)

Kyle Larson – two wins (2024, 2021)

Chase Elliott – one win (2018)

· In 37 NASCAR Cup Series races at Kansas Speedway, Chevrolet leads all manufacturers with 14 victories – including both the series’ inaugural race (Jeff Gordon – Sept. 2021) and the most recent race (Kyle Larson – May 2024).

· Since the debut of the 16-driver playoff field and elimination rounds to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2014, at least five Chevrolet drivers have been represented in the playoffs each season.

· Following the first elimination race of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, Chevrolet is the only manufacturer with all of its playoff drivers advancing to the Round of 12.

· In 101 points-paying races in the Next Gen era, Chevrolet leads all manufacturers with 49 victories – a winning percentage of 48.5%.

· With its 42 NASCAR Cup Series Manufacturer Championships, 33 NASCAR Cup Series Driver Championships, and 863 all-time NASCAR Cup Series wins, Chevrolet continues to hold the title as the winningest brand in NASCAR Cup Series history.

QUOTABLE QUOTES:

ROSS CHASTAIN, NO. 1 KUBOTA CAMARO ZL1

How cool is it to drive the Kubota car?

“I love driving the Kubota Chevy. It’s so cool to get to drive a car with a brand on it that is authentic to me. They’re a great group to work with and I enjoy getting to meet the employees, dealers and visiting some of their facilities. They’re obviously big into agriculture which I am very passionate about and my family is passionate about. And there’s a trend when I’m in the Kubota car – solid finishes. Each time I’ve finished in the top-10 in the Kubota car they’ve been donating $10,000 to the Farmer Veteran Coalition. I hope they have to donate $10,000 more after Sunday’s race too (laughs).”

Do you look forward to going to Kansas Speedway?

“I love going to Kansas Speedway and I enjoy going to Kansas in general. The track is fun to race on and it has been amazing to see the growth around the track. It’s a destination now with all of the restaurants and shops in front of the track. We led quite a few laps when we were there earlier this year. I hope to lead a bunch more laps this weekend and the most important one, the last lap. We’ve put together a string of strong runs here the last few weeks and I want to continue that this weekend.”

KYLE LARSON, NO. 5 HENDRICKCARS.COM CAMARO ZL1

Larson on winning at Kansas earlier this year:

“I had a great run off two and down the backstretch and was able to get to [Chis Buescher’s] outside getting into 3. It was so tight at the line and I guess TV showed us second — and I was fine with that because it was a great battle at the end. But then to hear we won was incredible.”

JUSTIN HALEY, NO. 7 GAINBRIDGE CAMARO ZL1

Last week was eventful and historically, you’re in a unique situation. Do you have a sense of relief being able to put last week behind you and get ready for the task at hand at Kansas Speedway?

“Last week was definitely interesting. That’s for sure. I’m looking forward to turning the page and to get a head start on 2025. Kansas isn’t my favorite track, by any stretch, but this weekend will give me an opportunity to get re-acclimated to the Spire Motorsports system and have a better understanding of how (crew chief) Ryan Sparks and the No. 7 team approach a race weekend. It’s a fresh start for everyone involved so, from that perspective, I’m ready to get to the race track and go about the business of the weekend.”

You have 35 previous Cup Series starts for Spire Motorsports. What are your thoughts on coming back?

“Spire gave me my first start in the Cup Series in the No. 77 at Talladega on my 20th birthday. We had some great runs in our first year together in 2019, and there’s still a lot of familiar faces around here that were on the team back then. I’m excited to come home. This is where I got my start in the Cup Series, and I’m excited to go out there and compete with the No. 7 team.”

KYLE BUSCH, NO. 8 BETMGM CAMARO ZL1

You have top-10 finishes in your two most recent starts at Kansas, which must give you confidence entering this race.

“For years Kansas was a very tough place for me to get a hold of and figure out. But as of late, since about 2014, things have really clicked and I’ve had several good finishes there. Kansas is a track that I actually look forward to now. Hopefully we can continue to build on those good finishes and search for another win this weekend at Kansas.”

One year ago, you overcame a poor pit stall to finish seventh in the fall race at Kansas. How big of a disadvantage is that?

“I would say that there are a lot of challenges in our sport and that’s certainly true during a race. Whether it’s a slow pitstop, a bad restart, or just getting caught up in someone else’s crash, there’s always things that can happen. You just have to be ready and do your best to overcome any challenge that comes at you.”

ALAN GUSTAFSON, CREW CHIEF, NO. 9 UNIFIRST CAMARO ZL1

Gustafson on heading into the first race of the Round of 12:

“The last race at Kansas was pretty good for us. Heading back there, we need to qualify a little better and score more stage points. Those stage points are going be really critical moving forward here in these playoffs. They’re always critical, but there’s a big emphasis on stage points. We’re no different than anybody else. Everybody knows this is a good opportunity to go control your own destiny and have a really good race. Obviously, a win would be the first goal and then past that would be stage points and good finishes. So, I expect this race to be highly contested, to say the least. I think everybody is going to be under the same impression that this is their best chance to control their own destiny and kind of want to take advantage of that. So, I’m looking forward to that. I enjoy going there just because you can race and pass and have some strategy. A lot is in your hands at Kansas.”

WILLIAM BYRON, NO. 24 VALVOLINE CAMARO ZL1

Byron on why he enjoys racing at Kansas Speedway:

“I’m excited to get to Kansas. That’s a track we’ve had a lot of speed at. I think we have a good notebook heading into this race based on our experiences and our teammates’. We got behind in the spring after hitting the wall in qualifying, but even then we had good speed and strategy to make up ground. Hopefully we get a better starting spot for this race and can execute at a high level like I know our team can.”

DANIEL HEMRIC, NO. 31 SOUTH POINT HOTEL & CASINO CAMARO ZL1

“Kansas in this Next Gen car has been one of the more ‘racey’ racetracks we go to. It’s constantly three and four-wide on restarts and throughout the runs. You have to have maneuverability built into the racecar. It will be very important for us to unload close, qualify decent, and give ourselves a chance to maintain track position all day. Eventually I’ll have to get up around the fence and make hay into the run. It should be a fun one.”

ALEX BOWMAN, NO. 48 ALLY CAMARO ZL1

Bowman on going to Kansas Speedway:

“It’s been a really good place for me, it’s probably my favorite mile and a half, so, enjoy racing there a lot and have certainly been close to winning there before. So, I’m looking forward to it. Statistically, it’s been a really good place for us so hopefully we can put together a really good race this weekend.”

ZANE SMITH, NO. 71 FOCUSED HEALTH CAMARO ZL1

How do you feel about heading to Kansas Speedway this weekend? It’s a track where you’ve had some success.

“Kansas Speedway is one of my favorite tracks, so I’m really looking forward to this weekend. My No. 71 Spire Motorsports team has great momentum this second half of the season and I am excited to see what we can accomplish at Kansas. I’ve had success there in the Truck Series and hope to have another solid result in my Focused Health Chevrolet on Sunday.”

CARSON HOCEVAR, NO. 77 PREMIER SECURITY CAMARO ZL1

You’ve expressed your excitement for this weekend’s race at Kansas Speedway, given your team’s recent performance and your personal preference for mile-and-a-half tracks. What do you think will be key to success?

“I’ve always loved mile-and-a-half tracks. They’re where I feel most comfortable, and our team’s been showing a lot of speed since we came back from the Olympic break. I’ve had some strong runs in the Truck Series at Kansas Speedway, and I’m hoping we can translate that success to the Cup level. I love ripping around the top and you really have to be able to move around and try different lanes. I think we’re in a good position to have a strong weekend.”

DANIEL SUAREZ, NO. 99 WORLDWIDE EXPRESS CAMARO ZL1

How does the next round of the playoffs stack up for you and the No. 99 team?

“I think we’re going to be pretty good. I’m excited for Kansas. I think we can compete there. A superspeedway, as we all know, anything can happen. And a road course in there always puts a smile on my face.

It’s going to be interesting. Kansas is a high-speed track where we run just inches from the wall. The restarts are pretty wild there and should make for some close racing. Talladega is a huge wildcard. Anything can happen. You can gain a lot or lose a lot. The Roval is kind of the same. You must decide if you are racing for points, stay out before the stage breaks, or pit for better track position, and battle for the win. Our strategy is to win either Kansas or Talladega and then we won’t worry about points at the Roval.”

Are you points racing in the second round?

“I think everyone in the playoffs is points racing, to some extent. But that doesn’t mean we are on defense. I can’t be on defense. We have to be on offense. We aren’t going to take any crazy chances or anything like that but we are going to race hard.”

CONNOR MOSACK, NO. 7 MKS PIPE & VALVE SILVERADO RST

You had a great run going in May before a flat tire ended your chances at a good finish. What can you take from the Spring race and apply to this time around?

“Kansas is one of my favorite tracks. I feel like we ran well in the spring until we got damage and that hurt our speed. If we can keep our nose clean and build on what we had in May, we have a shot at it.”

You have run a lot of races for a lot of different teams this season. How difficult is the transition between series and teams?

“It is tough. The relationship with your crew chief and your team is a big part of success. The trucks drive differently when you go team to team. This will be my fourth race with (Brian) Pattie and Spire, so we have a great start on our relationship. It’s great to have MKS back with me, they supported me last fall, so I am excited to have them back.”

BAYLEY CURREY, NO. 41 MASKED OWL TECHNOLOGIES SILVERADO RST

You were close to getting a top-10 here in the spring, so do you think your crew has figured out what changes you need on the mile-and-a-half tracks to get there this time?

“I think so, we’ve been trending in the right direction lately. Our results might not show it, but we’ve had fast trucks on the mile-and-a-halves. Just had things go wrong. I think we can make those small adjustments and head back there this week and finish better. Niece Motorsports has historically run well here, so there’s no reason that we shouldn’t have a good run.”

MATT MILLS, NO. 42 J.F. ELECTRIC / UTILITRA SILVERADO RST

You finished in the top-five at the last mile-and-a-half race in Charlotte, so do you feel like you can expect that to translate to Kansas?

“Yeah, for sure. Now that we are starting to go back to some of these tracks for a second time this year, especially since it’s just my first full-time year in the trucks, I think we are starting to hit on some stuff. At Charlotte towards the end of the race, I found some ways to find more speed out of our truck, so I’ve been really looking forward to getting back to Kansas. Knowing what I know now and where our stuff is at on these types of tracks, I feel confident for Friday.”

CONOR DALY, NO. 44 POLKADOT SILVERADO RST

I believe when you look at the schedule and you think ‘what is the definition of a NASCAR track?’, you can’t get any better than Kansas Speedway’s wide sweeping corners and high-speed racetrack. I think you’re going to be in for a treat behind the wheel.

“I really hope so. I even enjoyed it when IndyCar raced at Kansas back in the day. I still wish IndyCar raced at Kansas. It’s a great track, I know Niece [Motorsports] has had success there in the past as well, and I’m very excited. I love learning new tracks, especially ovals, because I enjoy oval racing so much. I can’t be anything other than excited on what we’re going to do. You know, there’s not a lot of practice which is a bit of a shame as always, but we’re just going to have to go for it.”

KADEN HONEYCUTT, NO. 45 AUTOVENTIVE / PRECISION SILVERADO RST

Since you had that great run in the spring, does that give you the confidence you need to advance?

“Definitely Kansas is one of our strong suits here at Niece Motorsports. I feel like we had a really good run here in the spring, and over time we’ve been working hard at a lot of things that we’ll take to Kansas which are new and hopefully improved. I’ll do a better job of aero racing this time; I was inexperienced at that the first time and had a hard time learning how to pass other guys. Now, going back there, I know how to race more efficiently and make those passes quicker. Hopefully we can take home a win and rack up the momentum to keep us hungry if we advance into the Round of 8.”

RAJAH CARUTH, NO. 71 HENDRICKCARS.COM SILVERADO RST

You’ve been quick at Kansas in the past, but the finishes never seem to fall your way. What do you look to do differently this time around in a playoff setting?

“It seems like I’ve had speed since the first time I entered the tunnel at Kansas, I just haven’t had the finishes to show for it. I’ve driven too aggressively, got spun out, and put myself in the wall trying to get too much. That track was my first mile-and-a-half I visited in ARCA, and I’ve run multiple CRAFTSMAN Truck and Xfinity races there. The track is so much fun. You can run from the bottom along the white line, all the way up to the fence. It has really kindled itself to my driving style. I’ve done some dirt racing the past few years and trained within the GM Development Program, and I think those experiences pay off at Kansas. A win there would be special because of how fast I’ve been there, and things are yet to fall our way.”

Kansas is one of two tracks you’ll visit twice this season. How does that help your team?

“Going to a track for a second time helps any organization, it doesn’t matter if you are leading the points or sit outside the top 20. You have a notebook of things you tried in the previous race to go off of. Then you can see how you have grown and improved over the course of the season. I lick my chops a bit when we go to Kansas. I know that I can put it on the fence, and if I’m loose, I can go even higher. I think going to Kansas will be good for us.”

CHASE PURDY, NO. 77 BAMA BUGGIES SILVERADO RST

You have sat on the pole the last two visits to Kansas. How do you carry the momentum into the weekend?

“Kansas is one of our best tracks. We’ve had a lot of speed, we just need to put together a complete day. Our Bama Buggies team will take the momentum from last week’s good finish at Bristol and carry it forward to this weekend.”

Corey LaJoie, Driver of the No. 51 Chidren’s Mercy Kansas City Ford Mustang Dark Horse

● Corey LaJoie, driver of the No. 51 Children’s Mercy Kansas City Ford Mustang Dark Horse, will make his first start for Rick Ware Racing (RWR) Sunday at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City. LaJoie has 12 previous Cup Series starts at the 1.5-mile oval. His best finish there was a 19th-place result earned in May 2022.

● Riding along with LaJoie for this weekend’s Hollywood Casino 400 as part of the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation’s and NASCAR Foundation’s Honor a Cancer Hero program is Jessie Rees. At 11 years of age, Jessie was diagnosed with an incurable and inoperable form of brain cancer. While working through an out-patient clincal trial at Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Southern California, Jessie learned other kids had to stay in the hospital for weeks and months, inspiring the creation of JoyJars. Jessie’s JoyJars were delivered to more than 3,000 children fighting cancer while Jessie continued her fight. Jessie lost her fight to cancer on January 5, 2012. In her honor, the Jessie Rees Foundation was created to keep joy flowing to kids fighting cancer and to encourage them to Never Ever Give Up. As of January 2024, more than 500,000 JoyJars have been sent to kids fighting cancer in all 50 states and 53 countries.

● In the Cup Series’ last visit to Kansas on May 5, LaJoie finished 26th for Spire Motorsports. RWR’s No. 51 team started 35th in a field of 38 cars that day and finished 18th.

● In addition to his Cup Series starts at Kansas, LaJoie also owns one start each in the Xfinity Series and ARCA Menards Racing Series in 2014 and 2013, respectively. He qualified second and led a lap in the ARCA event before an accident ended his bid before the halfway mark.

Kaz Grala, Driver of the No. 15 Remixers Ford Mustang Dark Horse

● Kaz Grala is set to make his first Kansas start in the NASCAR Cup Series in Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400. Grala has two NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at the 1.5-mile oval – a 13th-place finish from the third starting position in July 2020, and a 10th-place finish from the 31st starting position in September 2023.

● The Boston native also has two Truck Series races at Kansas under his belt with a best finish of eighth earned in May 2017.

● Though this is his first start at Kansas in NASCAR’s premier series, Grala has 10 starts on intermediate tracks with an average finish of 26.2.

Rick Ware Racing Notes

● The Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series heads this weekend to World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois, near St. Louis. In last weekend’s event at zMAX Dragway in Concord, North Carolina, RWR’s Clay Millican powered his Top Fuel dragster to a semifinal appearance. The performance moved Millican to fifth in the playoff standings with four events remaining.

● Rick Ware has been a motorsports mainstay for more than 40 years. It began at age six when the third-generation racer began his driving career and has since spanned four wheels and two wheels on both asphalt and dirt. Competing in the SCCA Trans Am Series and other road-racing divisions led Ware to NASCAR in the early 1980s, where he finished third in his NASCAR debut – the 1983 Warner W. Hodgdon 300 NASCAR Grand American race at Riverside (Calif.) International Raceway. More than a decade later, injuries would force Ware out of the driver seat and into fulltime team ownership. In 1995, Rick Ware Racing was formed, and with wife Lisa by his side, Ware has since built his eponymous organization into an entity that fields two fulltime entries in the NASCAR Cup Series while simultaneously campaigning successful teams in the Top Fuel class of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, Progressive American Flat Track and FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX), where RWR won the 2022 SX2 championship with rider Shane McElrath.

Corey LaJoie, Driver Q&A

Sunday will mark your first race with RWR after an unprecedent driver swap that was announced last weekend at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. How has this week been with the new team?

“This week at Kansas is a new opportunity for myself, as well as RWR and the No. 51 team. It’s been fun integrating into their organization and process this week to prepare for our first race together.”

What do enjoy about the intermediate-style racing at Kansas?

“Kansas is one of my favorite intermediate tracks with its multiple lane options and fast speeds. We will go execute a strong weekend like we all know how to and see how it shakes out.”

Kaz Grala, Driver Q&A

This your first Cup Series start at Kansas, but is it safe to say you’ve learned enough to know what to expect from the Next Gen car at these intermediate tracks, in general?

“I feel like I have a pretty good handle on the NextGen cars at this point in the season. I’ve come a long way in knowing what to expect out of these cars throughout the race and in dirty air and feel like I’m able to get much more out of them than when I first started. I didn’t do the spring race at Kansas, so it will be my first time in a Cup car there, but I’ve raced there a handful of times in Trucks and Xfinity. It’s always been one of my favorite mile-and-a-halves, so I’m really looking forward to getting out there this weekend.”

You’ve got a new teammate this weekend. What is the most important asset Corey brings to the team?

“Corey brings eight years of Cup experience to RWR, and at a smaller team like ours, that goes a long way.”

What Makes the Online Slots More Interesting Game?

Instead of being a passing hobby, millions of individuals today use online gaming as their go to way to pass the time. Even while physical casinos continue to operate, internet gambling is growing in strength. According to statistics, slots are the most popular casino games. The first slot machine got invented in the 19th century. Slots quickly became quite popular among players when made available on the internet. Since then, the popularity of the slot game has increased annually. Hundreds of developers are looking for work, and many openings are available.

A Whole New Approach

Nobody in the investing world is prepared to give up their gains to take a chance on a massive reward. It is the reason why playing slots online was so sluggish at first.

When there were more participants, there was less possibility of losing money and missing out on massive winnings. Numerous risks presented by thieves and hackers have also been avoided because of technological developments in cybersecurity.

A kind of self-feeding loop got created as a result of the participants being able to benefit from this additional risk reduction.

The outcome is games prioritize everyone having a great time and having fun rather than focusing so much on “whales” or affluent players who spend a lot of money. An online casino now serves as entertainment for a broad audience rather than just those with specific needs.

No matter when or where you choose, you can have fun.

Higher payouts are another factor playing slots online is better for players than playing slots in a physical casino. With a broadband connection, you may access it whenever you want and from anywhere! Depending on your tastes, you can play in the afternoon, evening, night, or early hours.

It may get used anywhere there is free Wi-Fi, such as at home or work. While you wait for the train, you might also play slots. What a fantastic feeling it gets to win the lotto after reaching all your objectives. Just be aware that gambling online may turn into an addiction.

Low barrier to entry

Online slots offer a minimal entrance barrier, making them suitable for gamers of all skill levels and budgets. Most slot games let players select the amount of money they wish to gamble, so they may play for bigger winnings with more extensive stakes or smaller ones for more relaxed enjoyment. Almost everyone can play slots and enjoy them because of the inclusion.

Familiar Intellectual Property

The most well-liked slots and spinners are those whose graphics are lifted straight out of popular media right now, even if the majority of them are unique and draw inspiration from various pop culture and cultural backgrounds.

There are plenty of instances where this relationship gets made explicit, only a passing reference, like in the Book of the Dead, where the main character strikingly resembles Nathan Drake from Uncharted.

Players believe they can get straight into the game and don’t require a technical handbook to explain what’s going on because they recognize something. Additionally, the accessibility of these games adds to the enjoyment of the experience because it’s so simple to pick up.

Never-ending innovation

Online slot makers are leading the way in this trend of constant innovation, which is characteristic of the online gaming sector. They produce intriguing, brand new slot games with innovative themes, features and graphics. Players are kept interested and ready to check out the most recent products through this steady flow of new material.

Safe and fair play.

Security and game fairness are top priorities for reputable online casinos and slot machine manufacturers. They provide a secure betting environment by using cutting-edge encryption technology to safeguard players’ money and personal information. The games on these platforms get inspected to guarantee fairness and prevent manipulation since they are subject to rules.

What Round of 12 Drivers Are Saying Ahead of This Year’s Reconfigured Bank of America ROVAL™ 400

  • With less than three weeks remaining before the Bank of America ROVAL™ 400, here’s what drivers are saying about the newly renovated 17-turn road course
  • “ I think the new track is going to create quite a few more passing opportunities. Probably going to create more chaos, which is always the fun part of the ROVAL™ from the fan side of things. So, this year’s ROVAL™ will be one for the history books.” Stewart-Haas racer Chase Briscoe said.
  • Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 weekend tickets can be purchased online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com or by calling 1-800-455-FANS (3267). Kids 12 and under get in all weekend for just $10

CONCORD, NC (Sept. 25, 2024) – With less than three weeks remaining before drivers rev their engines at the newly reconfigured Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 on Oct. 13, anticipation is building for the pivotal NASCAR Playoffs Round of 12. This Wildcard Weekend will challenge drivers as they navigate through the updated course featuring two renovated turns. With a place in the next round at stake, the ROVAL™ is sure to put drivers to the test.

Here’s what some of the remaining NASCAR Cup Series Playoff drivers are saying ahead of the Oct. 13 cut-off race:

Christopher Bell, No. 20, Joe Gibbs Racing:

“My expectations for the ROVAL™ is it’s always going to be exciting and drama-filled.”

Tyler Reddick, No. 45, 23XI Racing:

“It’s going to be a bit different. My favorite corner, Marcus [Smith] decided to make it a little bit tighter, so that helps me even more. Definitely what they’ve changed on the backs is going to change the flow of the track, but I don’t know if it really changes what you do with your car setup going into the weekend. You’re just going to have to figure out a couple of new corners.”

William Byron, No. 24, Hendrick Motorsports:

“ROVAL™ is going to be crazy. It’s a new format, a new layout and all that, so I think it’s going to be a lot different.”

Ryan Blaney, No. 12, Team Penske:

“It’ll be a little bit different with the final chicane being a little tighter you’re going to see some more kind of outbreaking maneuvers there now than what it has been. Exiting the infield there, yeah I don’t know how that’s going to be; that’s a super tight corner when you turn back onto the banking you know of the oval Turn 1 track. I think you’re going to see some big dive bomb Hail Mary moves into there, just because it’s a pretty wide entry, and you’ll have to slow way down. So we’ll see, but that’ll be a pretty exciting spot on the track. I think they also opened up a couple of passing zones, which is good. That’s what tracks need.”

Denny Hamlin, No. 11, Joe Gibbs Racing:

“Expectations for the ROVAL™ is gonna be that we’re going to have a little bit different track configuration this year. Two corners that we’re going to have to navigate that’s a little bit different. So it’s going to be about who can adapt the quickest and qualify well.”

Austin Cindric, No. 2, Team Penske:

“The ROVAL™ will definitely be different with the reconfiguration, especially in that the Turn 8 area. I honestly hated Turn 8 before so I’m a big fan of this change. It should be fun.”

Alex Bowman, No. 48, Hendrick Motorsports:

“It’ll be really interesting to see how the track reconfiguration is at the ROVAL™so I’m excited for that, it’s gonna be different for sure. It’s going to be a pretty treacherous section so, we’ll have to wait and see. The front straight-away chicane is going to be narrower, lot of differences so I’m excited to get there.”

Chase Briscoe, No. 14, Stewart-Haas Racing:

“My expectations for the ROVAL™ will be is that it’s going to be a really exciting race first off. It’s a new configuration. I think the new track is going to create quite a few more passing opportunities. Probably going to create more chaos, which is always the fun part of the ROVAL™ from the fan side of things. So, this year’s ROVAL™ will be one for the history books.”
