Pierce Marshall – HSR Classic Endurance Championship Presented by Mission Foods 2025 Champion

Pierce Marshall, Eric Foss and the Matador Motorsports 2017 No. 02 Cadillac Dallara DPi Team Podium Perfect in Winning Modern Prototype/Sports Racer Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (December 13, 2025) – Winning a sports car racing endurance championship in its series debut season is a rare achievement for any racing team. Winning two first-year endurance titles at the same time is almost unheard of, but that’s exactly what Pierce Marshall, his longtime coach and co-driver Eric Foss and Matador Motorsports accomplished in Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) competition in 2025.

“To be blunt, the only time I’m on track is a race weekend with HSR,” Marshall said. “My work schedule just doesn’t allow anything else. So, my approach to this whole thing is to get as much track time as I can at these events, and that’s the way to do it. I do the Michelin Prototype Challenge at every event, as well as run the Mission HSR Classics when they’ve got them. For me, racing is one of those things where I love my hobby, and I’m blessed to be in the position where I have my own race shop and that I can have a car like this.”

Driving the 2017 No. 02 Matador Motorsports Cadillac Dallara DPi, Marshall and Foss won both the HSR Classic Endurance Championship presented by Mission Foods Modern Prototype/Sports Racer championship as well as the season-long endurance title in the top-tier P1 class that was added to the HSR Prototype Challenge presented by Michelin championship this year.

“I would not have had these championships without Eric Foss, who has been with me since I first started racing,” Marshall said. “His coaching and driving have brought me to where I am, and obviously Dan Binks and Binks Motorsports prepare an incredible car for us. The reason I think we consistently had such good performance is that the car was great right off the trailer. There is just no substitute for that. We were able to just get in and go fast right from the very beginning without chasing anything, and that’s honestly key.”

Matador’s season highlight was undoubtedly the HSR Classic Endurance Championship by Mission Foods in which Marshall, Foss and the No. 02 Matador team won two of the year’s four races. In an “odd” occurrence, the team won the opening Round 1 of the season at the HSR Classic Sebring 12 Hour presented by Mission Foods in March and took its second win in Round 3 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in September at the inaugural HSR Classic Road Atlanta 10 Hour presented by Mission Foods.

The victories were backed up by a second-place finish at the HSR Classic Watkins Glen 6 Hour presented by Mission Foods and a third-place showing at the season-ending HSR Classic Daytona 24 Hour presented by Mission Foods, which was enough to secure the 2025 title.

Marshall and Foss have been a winning partnership for more than a decade.

“I was fortunate enough to meet Pierce at the end of 2012, so 13 years ago almost to the day probably, and we started working together,” Foss said. He didn’t have much racing experience back then, but I had a lot of GT experience, and over the years we have really progressed through his race craft.

“When we got to the Prototype stuff I told him, ‘You know, I have no experience in these types of cars,’ but he put a lot of faith in me and said, ‘well, we will learn this together.’ So, it’s been an awesome journey of his learning through me, and me also learning the cars themselves. It just makes it a lot of fun and I’m very grateful how he puts as much faith and trust in me as he does. In return, he is always a pleasure to coach and is really, really honing his race craft and his improvement, especially over the last few years. It has been pretty awesome.”

Marshall, Foss and the No. 02 Matador squad were the only team in the HSR Classic Endurance Modern Prototype division to finish on the podium in every race this year.

“It’s great that HSR and Mission Foods and Juan Gonzalez came up with this concept to make a championship out of these HSR Classic endurance races,” Marshall said. “I would argue they are the toughest ones to win, especially consistently.”

The 2026 HSR racing season starts right back at Sebring International Raceway this February 21 – 25 with the HSR Sebring Pistons and Props presented by Alan Jay Automotive Network. The popular Pistons & Props event makes a race date swap next year with the HSR Sebring Classic 12 Hour presented by Mission Foods, which returns to its traditional December date after one year running this past March the weekend before the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race.

‘Shugah’ Shane Sexton 2025 Season Review – 2026 Opener Just Around The Corner

"Shugah" Shane Sexton is ready to rumble in his lightning sprint. Raina Morse photo.

Perris, California — December 10, 2025 — “Shugah’” Shane Sexton closed out a successful 2025 racing season at the Motor City Buick/GMC California Lightning Sprint Car Series’ 9th Annual Western States Lightning Sprints Championship on the Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway. While the finale did not go as planned, the affable driver—who competed in both Lightning and 410 sprint cars in 2025—enjoyed a fun and rewarding campaign in which the highs outweighed the lows by a wide margin.

A heavy equipment operator when he wasn’t behind the wheel of a race car, Sexton made 14 appearances on Southern California dirt tracks in 2025. Ten of those came in his primary focus for the season, Lightning Sprints, while four were in his 410 sprint car, competing in the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Series.

Eight of his 14 starts were with the SoCal Lightning Sprint Car Series at Barona Speedway, where he turned in his strongest performances of the year. Three of those outings resulted in top-three finishes, highlighted by a victory on June 7 in his first Lightning Sprint start of the season. He followed that win with two second-place finishes and two thirds. In the three races where he did not reach the podium, he was eliminated early due to racing incidents.

In a true case of “you can’t make this stuff up,” Sexton appeared poised to finish third in the season long SCLS championship standings following a hard-fought battle heading into the late-October finale. He did everything required on track, passing the necessary number of cars to secure the podium position in the points chase. However, on the final lap, a broken left-rear torsion arm forced him out of the race, dropping him back to sixth in the championship standings.

“We finished the 2025 season with 5 heat race wins, eight top 10s, five top 5s, and one win in the SoCal Lightning Sprints,” the Warner Springs, California driver told his social media followers. “Missed the first two races, but overall had speed every time we hit the track. The 410 season didn’t go as planned due to a lot of the races conflicting with class schedule, but with limited track time we went forward in every main, and I’ll take it. Next season, we will be redoing our design on our Lightning Sprint. So, it will be a blank canvas with plenty of room for new sponsorship. Thank you to my sponsors for this 2025 season! GAS Chassis, Mike Pridgeon Race Engines, AG Sand Cars, HRP, Savage Racing, Adfab Graphics, Elite Powder Coating, and Sexton Fire Protection.”

The season finale at Bakersfield was a rare night when Sexton battled car issues all night. In qualifying, a birdcage failed. With that fixed, he went out for his heat and dropped an injector. Lastly, in the main, a bent left rear torsion arm ended his race early and saddled him with an 18th-place finish.

The start to Sexton’s 2026 season is not that far away. The first USAC/CRA race of the year is February 14th at Perris Auto Speedway. The first weekend of March, the SoCal Lightning Sprint Car Series will kick off its third season with two nights of racing at the California Mid-Winter Fair at the Imperial Valley Raceway.

Businesses interested in partnering with Shane Sexton’s exciting program in 2026 are encouraged to contact him at ShaneSexton7@gmail.com or (610) 362-5921.

KUHNLE MOTORSPORTS PARK JOINS NHRA MEMBER TRACK NETWORK IN NORTH CENTRAL DIVISION

THOMPSON, Ohio (Dec. 12, 2025) – NHRA officials are pleased to welcome Kuhnle Motorsports Park to the NHRA Member Track Network as part of the NHRA’s North Central Division (Division 3).

Originally opened in 1958, the historic quarter-mile facility has been a staple in Northeast Ohio motorsports for more than six decades. Known by many longtime racers as one of the region’s most tradition-rich dragstrips, Kuhnle Motorsports Park continues to evolve while staying true to its grassroots racing foundation.

The track was purchased in 2021 by brothers Tom and Kim Kuhnle. The Kuhnle family invested heavily in revitalizing the venue and expanding its offerings. Today, Kuhnle Motorsports Park hosts an eclectic mix of events ranging from nostalgia gasser races to the fan-favorite heavy-duty semi-truck racing, which has become one of the facility’s signature attractions.

“NHRA offers valuable benefits to racers as well as race programs that are exciting for both participants and spectators. This makes them a great fit for our commitment to our racing community and our vision for the future,” said Tom Kuhnle.

“When I got my driver’s license at 16, Thompson Drag Raceway, now Kuhnle Motorsports Park, was one of the first places I would go,” said Kim Kuhnle. “I loved to watch drag racing for hours with a big group of friends. Like so many others who have grown up in this area, a lot of my fondest memories were made at the track.

“Fast forward 40-plus years later and the tables have turned. I am now an owner of Kuhnle Motorsports Park and it’s a bit of a different view from this perspective. There are many moving parts involved with hosting events and it is my goal to continue creating a place for all to enjoy.”

As part of the NHRA Member Track Network, Kuhnle Motorsports Park will also have access to NHRA’s extensive and robust support programs, insurance benefits and national marketing platforms. With this new partnership, the facility will play a key role in promoting grassroots NHRA drag racing and fostering a strong community of racers and fans in the area.

“The NHRA North Central Division is proud to work alongside Kuhnle Motorsports Park as they continue building on their impressive progress,” said William Tharpe, NHRA North Central Division Director. “Under Tom Kuhnle’s leadership and with the strong support of his family and friends, the facility has made tremendous strides in a short time. Their vision and commitment to the sport are clear, and we look forward to seeing that dedication grow within the North Central Division. With opportunities that many tracks can only dream of, Kuhnle Motorsports Park is poised to capitalize in a big way.”

THE FINAL SHOWDOWN: WORLD SUPERCROSS SET FOR THRILLING CHAMPIONSHIP DECIDER AT THE SOUTH AFRICAN GP

Cape Town, South Africa, 12th December 2025: The 2025 FIM World Supercross Championship reaches its conclusion this weekend at DHL Stadium in Cape Town, marking the end of a season filled with enthralling racing and compelling storylines. The fifth and final round will see the SX1 title decided with the top three riders separated by just one point, SX2 front-runner Max Anstie poised to complete a dominant campaign, and Quad Lock Honda aiming to secure the team championship from the top of the standings. All three titles will be settled as South Africa hosts its first-ever World Supercross GP.

The SX1 title race is the tightest story to settle. After four rounds, Jason Anderson, Joey Savatgy, and Christian Craig stand separated by only a single point. All three have delivered consistent, front-running performances throughout the season, and Cape Town will now serve as the stage where one of them secures the SX1 World Supercross Championship title. Every start, lap, and finish position will carry heightened importance as the trio enters the final round with the finest of margins between them.

In SX2, British rider Max Anstie arrives with a clear path to the championship after a dominant season in the 250cc class. Although he missed the chance to seal the title in Sweden following a rare second placed finish the final sprint race, Anstie has maintained a substantial advantage and is expected to complete the job in Cape Town. With strong results in earlier rounds and a consistent approach across the triple-header stretch, he enters the finale with momentum firmly behind him.

The team championship also remains undecided heading into the final round. Quad Lock Honda currently leads the standings thanks to the strong points contributions of SX1 contenders Savatgy and Craig. Pipes Motorsport Group and Rick Ware Racing remain firmly in contention, with enough points available in Cape Town to shift the order. With every rider contributing to the cumulative tally, team strategies will play an important role in determining who leaves South Africa with the title.

The final run of the season – spanning the Gold Coast, Stockholm, and now Cape Town – has created one of the most demanding stretches of the championship. Riders and teams have balanced travel, preparation, recovery, and performance across three continents in rapid succession. Whether taking time to reset after Sweden or moving directly to Cape Town for final-round preparation, maintaining consistency in this final weekend will be essential.

Adding further interest to the event is the inclusion of local rider Cameron Durow, a nine-time South African national motocross champion. Having competed full-time in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship in the United States against some of the sport’s top athletes, Durow is set to make his World Supercross debut in Cape Town. His appearance provides South African fans with a notable home entry, competing against the sport’s elite.

With all major championship outcomes still undecided and strong local support expected at DHL Stadium, the South African GP is set to deliver a dramatic and fitting conclusion to the 2025 World Supercross season.

Hoosier Tire Launches TrackAttack Race

Conquer. Every. Lap. with the TrackAttack Race

  • Redefining the benchmark for total dominance
  • Engineered for faster lap times than previous A7/R7
  • Available in two compounds: A8 and R8
  • Available in 51 sizes ranging from 13-21” rim diameter

Lakeville, Ind. – December 12, 2025. Hoosier Racing Tire unveiled its highly anticipated TrackAttack Race tire at the PRI Show in Indianapolis on Friday, December 12. Developed for drivers who demand uncompromising performance, it redefines the benchmark for total dominance.

Built with Hoosier’s unparalleled racing DNA, this next-generation tire transforms every lap into a masterclass of control and responsiveness. Tuned for stability under high performance demands, it inspires total trust behind the wheel – elevating the racing experience to a whole new level.

Key Features of the TrackAttack Race include:

Engineered for dominance with faster lap times than the legendary A7/R7
Unmatched consistency with minimal fall-off, keeping the pace lap after lap
Instant responsiveness and planted stability to attack every corner with confidence
Proven under pressure and battle-tested in race conditions
Available in new A8 and R8 compounds, engineered to unlock unparalleled performance
A8: Medium compound providing ultimate race traction and performance
R8: Harder higher heat-tolerant compound providing consistency and durability

Expanding Hoosier’s TrackAttack product family, the TrackAttack Race debuts as the second iteration in the line, building on the successful launch of the TrackAttack Pro in September 2024.

“Hoosier has traditionally named tires after compounds or internal codes, which wasn’t always easy for consumers to navigate. Our new family naming makes it easier to understand each product’s core purpose,” said Joerg Burfien, President & CEO of Hoosier Racing Tire. “TrackAttack is in our circuit product line and we expect that family to grow over time under the same core name. Last year we introduced the TrackAttack Pro, a streetable track tire suitable for highway use. Now we’re adding a pure competition option with the TrackAttack Race.”

Both the TrackAttack Pro and TrackAttack Race are DOT-approved, but their intended applications differ. The TrackAttack Pro is a 200 UTQG tire designed for dual street and track performance and is recommended for highway use. The TrackAttack Race is a 040 UTQG rated tire, purpose-built for dedicated track environments and is not recommended for highway use.

“The TrackAttack Race comes from years of focused refinement and real-world testing,” said Mike Edmiston, Head of R&D, Hoosier Racing Tire. “Each previous generation tire has taught us something new, and we’ve applied those lessons to deliver the consistency and performance that drivers demand. Ongoing feedback from customers and racers is a key part of that process and that continues to be imperative to our overall development process.”

Incorporating H-DNA Technology, the TrackAttack Race pushes boundaries and defies limits. H-DNA was forged from a legacy of unrivaled racing excellence and relentless performance. Ignite your passion, empower your pride, and drive your success as you conquer life on and off the track.

Available in 51 sizes, the TrackAttack Race ranges in size from 13-21” rim diameter.

U.S. 131 MOTORSPORTS PARK SET TO JOIN NHRA’S NORTH CENTRAL DIVISION

MARTIN, Mich. (Dec. 11, 2025) – In an exciting move for NHRA’s 75th anniversary season, NHRA officials announced today that U.S. 131 Motorsports Park, a standout facility in Martin, Mich., has joined the NHRA Member Track Network as part of NHRA’s North Central Division (Division 3).

Known as “The Fastest Track in Michigan,” the track is one of the Midwest’s premier drag racing facilities and is well established as a favorite for both racers and fans.

U.S. 131 Motorsports Park first opened in 1962 and has an extensive schedule each year, including grassroots, regional and national events. Home to everything from nitro matches and jet cars to a standout bracket racing scene, the facility has continued to be a standout destination under Jason Peterson and his family for more than two decades.

“Our decision to move to NHRA sanctioning comes from listening closely to our racers and looking toward the long-term future of the sport,” said Peterson, VP of Operations at US 131 Motorsports Park. “The NHRA provides an incredible platform for growth, safety, and competitive opportunity. We’re excited to bring our racers expanded programs, national-level support, and a stronger path for advancement. This is a major step forward for our entire racing community.”

By joining the NHRA Member Track Network, U.S. 131 Motorsports Park will be eligible to offer racers in the area a variety of NHRA-sanctioned racing opportunities in the future, including the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, NHRA Summit Racing Series, the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League, NHRA Street Legal, NHRA Jr. Street and more. Additionally, the track will have the chance to host NHRA specialty events like the NHRA Summit King of the Track and more.

Next year, the facility will host an NHRA national open on July 8-9, leading into a Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series divisional event on July 10-12.

NHRA is also eager to introduce new programs to engage grassroots racers, as well as expanding opportunities in junior drag racing and helping build events to showcase the standout competitors in the area. The track will also get access to NHRA’s extensive support programs, insurance benefits and national marketing platforms as it enters an exciting stage in its existence.

“The addition of US 131 Motorsports Park to the NHRA North Central Division has been a long-standing goal, and we are thrilled to see it become a reality,” NHRA North Central Division Director William Tharpe said.” Jason Peterson and his family have built a world-class facility that is widely respected throughout the industry, offering competitors an exceptional experience. Their inclusion will play a key role in strengthening NHRA’s presence in Michigan and elevating the overall experience for racers and fans alike.

“The timing couldn’t be better as we celebrate NHRA’s 75th Anniversary. Consistency has always been one of our greatest strengths, and we look forward to extending that same level of support and stability to Jason and the US 131 Motorsports Park team.”

Smart Ways to Handle an Old or Non-Running Vehicle in Savannah, TN

Owning an older or damaged vehicle can quickly turn into a burden—especially when repairs become unpredictable, or the car is no longer reliable for use. Many residents in Savannah, TN eventually reach a point where maintaining an aging vehicle costs more than it’s worth. When that happens, the question becomes: What’s the smartest way to deal with a car that has reached the end of its useful life?

Whether the vehicle is sitting unused, draining money through repairs, or simply taking up space, there are several options available. This guide walks through practical approaches that work well for car owners in Savannah and similar small towns in Tennessee.

1. Start by Evaluating the True Cost of Keeping the Vehicle

It’s common for drivers to hang onto older cars because of sentimental value or because they hope to “fix it someday.” But it helps to compare repair expenses with the vehicle’s realistic market value.

Ask yourself:

  • Are the repairs becoming more frequent?
  • Will fixing one issue lead to another?
  • Is the car safe or reliable enough to drive daily?
  • Is it worth more as parts than as a whole vehicle?

If repairs exceed what the car is worth—or if it’s unlikely to remain dependable—moving on from the vehicle is usually the most cost-effective choice.

2. Private Selling Works Only When the Car Still Runs Well

Some people consider selling the vehicle privately through online marketplaces or local listings. This method can work, but only under certain conditions:

  • The car should be drivable
  • Paperwork must be in order
  • Buyers need to see and test the vehicle
  • You must be prepared for negotiations and no-shows

In smaller towns like Savannah, the buyer pool for older vehicles can be limited. If the car has major issues or cannot be driven, private sale becomes difficult and time-consuming.

3. Donating the Car Can Be an Option for Those Not Focused on Financial Return

Some organizations accept vehicle donations, regardless of condition. This option may appeal to owners who prefer a tax deduction over immediate cash. However, donation programs vary in what they accept, how quickly they schedule pickups, and what documentation they provide. It’s helpful for those who want to support a cause, but it’s not ideal if your priority is maximizing value.

4. Using a Local Service That Buys Cars in Any Condition

For many residents, one of the most straightforward solutions is choosing a local buyer who purchases vehicles regardless of their condition. These services usually offer quick evaluations, same-day or next-day pickup, and simplified paperwork—features that work particularly well for people who want a hassle-free process.

These buyers typically accept:

  • Non-running vehicles
  • Cars with engine or transmission failure
  • Accident-damaged vehicles
  • High-mileage cars
  • Cars that have become too expensive to repair

They also handle towing, which removes the burden of transporting a non-operational car. If you want to explore this option, you can learn more about local cash for cars services here:

This approach is often the fastest way to convert an unwanted vehicle into something useful without dealing with long waits or uncertain buyers.

5. Parting Out the Vehicle: A High-Work, High-Commitment Option

Some people wonder whether they should dismantle the car and sell parts individually. While it can bring in more value, it requires:

  • Mechanical skill
  • Tools and space
  • Time to list, ship, and meet buyers
  • Proper disposal of what remains

For most people, especially those without a dedicated workspace, this method is more demanding than expected. It is best suited for individuals with experience working on cars or those who enjoy the process of refurbishing and salvaging components.

6. Recycling and the Environmental Considerations

Older or abandoned vehicles often leak fluids such as oil, coolant, and brake fluid, which can harm soil and groundwater. Disposing of a vehicle responsibly ensures that:

  • The usable parts can be recycled
  • Metals are processed correctly
  • Any hazardous materials are handled safely
  • Waste is minimized

Towns like Savannah benefit when old vehicles are removed properly rather than left deteriorating on private property or rural land.

7. Choosing the Option That Fits Your Situation

The “best” way to handle an unwanted vehicle depends on your goals:

If you want the maximum convenience

→ A local car-buying service is typically the easiest and quickest route.

If you want a potentially higher value and have time to spare

→ Private selling may work, but only if the vehicle is still running.

If you wish to support a charity

→ Donation is a meaningful alternative, though financial return varies.

If you have mechanical skills and patience

→ Parting out the car could bring more earnings, but requires significant effort.

Final Thoughts

Dealing with an unwanted or non-running car doesn’t have to be stressful. For many people in Savannah, TN, the simplest path is choosing a solution that balances convenience, value, and environmental responsibility. Whether you decide to sell, donate, recycle, or part out the vehicle, making a clear decision helps free up space, reduce expenses, and eliminate the worry of maintaining an unreliable car.
