ARCA Menards Series / ARCA Menards East at Iowa Speedway: JR & CO 150 Post-race Notes

  • Tristan McKee (No. 77 Chili’s Chevrolet) started from the Sioux Chief PowerPEX Pole and led the most laps on his way to his second ARCA Menards Series victory of the season in Friday’s JR & CO 150 at Iowa Speedway. McKee, who turned 16 years old on Monday, also won earlier this season at Toledo Speedway.
  • The win is also McKee’s fourth ARCA Menards East victory of the season; he also won the season opener at Hickory Motor Speedway, Rockingham Speedway, and the combination race with the ARCA Menards Series at Toledo Speedway. McKee unofficially reassumes the ARCA Menards East championship points lead by just two points over Max Reaves (No. 18 Cook Out Toyota), who finished fourth.
  • McKee has made a habit of winning races in conjunction with his birthday. He earned his first-ever ARCA Menards Series win in his series debut at Watkins Glen International in 2025 just three days after turning 15.
  • McKee’s Pinnacle Racing Group teammate Carson Brown (No. 28 DWC Distributor Wire & Cable Chevrolet) finished second, giving the PRG team its third 1-2 finish of the season. Brown won at Phoenix Raceway in March and was followed by McKee at the finish and Connor Mosack won at Chicagoland with Lanie Buice in second.
  • ARCA Menards Series championship points leader Jake Bollman (No. 20 Nitro Motorsports Toyota) finished third, his ninth top-five finish of the season. Bollman added four points to his lead over Thomas Annunziata (No. 70 JBL.com Toyota), who recovered from mid-race contact with Brad Smith (No. 48 Hillman Family of Companies Ford) to finish seventh despite damage to the right rear quarter panel.
  • Reigning ARCA Menards East champion Isaac Ktzmiller (No. 79 A.LL. Construction / Carter CAT Chevrolet) finished fifth, his third consecutive top-five finish. Kitzmiller finished fifth at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park and third in the East stand-alone race at Flat Rock Speedway last Saturday. Kitzmiller unofficially trails McKee by 18 points with only the season finale at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 17 remaining.
  • Gavan Boschele (No. 25 Toyota Racing Toyota) finished sixth to give Nitro Motorsports three finishers in the top seven. Nitro’s other two drivers, Jade Avedisian (No. 15 Mobil 1 Toyota) and Isabella Robusto (No. 55 Yahoo! Toyota) finished tenth and eleventh respectively despite being involved in the lap 71 incident that also involved Annunziata and Smith.
  • Andy Jankowiak (No. 71 USNE Power Chevrolet) finished eighth in his second career ARCA Menards Series appearance at Iowa Speedway. Jankowiak finished fourth in his only other start at Iowa in 2023.
  • Ryan Vargas (No. 91 Maples Motorsports Ford) kicked off a unique doubleheader weekend with a ninth-place finish, the last driver on the lead lap. Vargas will also compete in Saturday’s ARCA Menards West Portland 112 at Portland International Raceway, and in doing so will become the first driver to earn points in all three ARCA Menards Series platform divisions on the same weekend.
  • McKee earned the Sioux Chief PowerPEX Pole Award with a lap at 23.383 seconds/1345.713 miles per hour.
  • McKee led 125 of the race’s 150 laps. Brown, the race’s only other leader, led the other 25. There were two lead changes among the two drivers.
  • There were seven cautions for a total of 46 laps which slowed the race’s average speed to 83.940 miles per hour.
  • McKee’s margin of victory was 0.950 seconds.
  • The next race for the ARCA Menards Series is the Calypso 100 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds on Sunday, August 23. The race, set to begin at 2 pm ET / 1 pm CT, will be televised live on FS1. Carson Brown Finishes Second in ARCA Race at Iowa

18-Year-Old Racer Earns Valuable Experience Ahead of NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Debut

Date: Aug. 7, 2026
Event: JR&CO 150
Series: ARCA Menards Series
Location: Iowa Speedway in Newton (.875-mile oval)
Length: 150 laps (131.25 miles)
Start/Finish: 2nd / 2nd (Running, completed 150 of 150 laps)

Overview:

Carson Brown was part of a strong 1-2 finish for Pinnacle Racing Group (PRG) Friday night at Iowa Speedway in Newton, finishing second to teammate Tristan McKee in the JR&CO 150 ARCA Menards Series race.

Brown started second alongside pole-winner McKee, and when the green flag dropped it served as a prelude for how the rest of the 150-lap race would unfold. McKee was able to take off, while Brown had to modulate the throttle on his No. 28 Distributor Wire & Cable Chevrolet, as his car either spun its tires or bogged down under acceleration.

While Brown’s car struggled on restarts, its handling came in the longer it ran around the .875-mile oval. By lap 31, Brown had caught McKee, and with a deft move to the inside of two lapped cars while McKee went high, Brown took the lead.

Brown led for the next 25 laps, but on the lap-57 restart that followed the competition caution, history began repeating itself – McKee drove away while Brown had to fend off drivers who stacked up behind him.

This scenario continued through four more restarts, with McKee taking the checkered flag .950 of a second ahead of Brown.

Despite the outcome, the effort still yielded positive results. Prior to the race, Brown had never turned a lap at Iowa. Now, heading into his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut on Saturday, the 18-year-old from New London, North Carolina, brings firsthand experience to the HyVee Perks 250 where Brown will drive the No. 32 Distributor Wire & Cable Chevrolet for Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport.

Carson Brown, driver of the No. 28 Distributor Wire & Cable Chevrolet for Pinnacle Racing Group:

“I wish I was better on the restarts. That was our issue the whole time. We just struggled to fire off all day. I just couldn’t really get going. We were either bogging or we were just lighting the tires up, and just couldn’t really go anywhere.

“Lapped traffic was a little more chaotic than what we needed, but it also gave me the lead at one point – just ended up losing it there toward the end during all those restarts. When you get behind there, it’s hard to play catch-up, but I felt like we had a good long-run car.

“This was my first time here at Iowa and, honestly, I love the place. I think it’s pretty cool, just the track layout, the surface, and a little bit of everything. I feel like it’s aging well and it has a lot of character. So, definitely looking forward to tomorrow in the O’Reilly Series car.”

Notes:

● This was Brown’s 12th career ARCA Menards Series start. He has now finished among the top-three nine times, a mark highlighted by his victory March 5 at Phoenix Raceway.

● Brown qualified second for the JR&CO 150 with a time of 23.514 seconds at 133.963 mph. In 12 career ARCA starts, Brown has never qualified lower than sixth.

Next Up:

Brown will grab another rung on the racing ladder when he makes his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut on Saturday in the HyVee Perks 250 at Iowa Speedway. He will drive the No. 32 Distributor Wire & Cable Chevrolet for Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport.

Understanding Probate Lawyer and Will Writing Malaysia: A Complete Guide to Estate Planning and Inheritance Matters

Planning for the future is an important responsibility that many people overlook. While individuals often focus on building wealth, purchasing property, and creating financial security during their lifetime, it is equally important to consider what happens to their assets after they pass away.

In Malaysia, proper estate planning helps ensure that a person’s wishes are carried out and that their loved ones can manage inheritance matters more smoothly. Two important areas connected to estate planning are probate law and will writing Malaysia.

A probate lawyer assists families and beneficiaries with the legal process of administering a deceased person’s estate, while will writing Malaysia focuses on preparing a legally valid document that explains how a person’s assets should be distributed after death.

Understanding these areas can help individuals make better decisions about protecting their assets, supporting their families, and reducing potential disputes among beneficiaries.

What Is a Probate Lawyer?

A probate lawyer is a legal professional who specialises in matters involving the administration of a deceased person’s estate. Probate refers to the legal process of proving the validity of a will and obtaining the necessary authority to manage and distribute the deceased person’s assets.

When someone passes away, their assets do not automatically transfer to their family members. There are legal procedures that must be followed to identify the assets, settle outstanding obligations, and distribute the remaining estate according to the applicable laws or instructions in a valid will.

A probate lawyer helps executors, administrators, and beneficiaries navigate this process.

The Role of a Probate Lawyer Malaysia

A probate lawyer Malaysia provides legal assistance in various estate administration matters. Their role is to help ensure that the deceased person’s estate is handled properly and that legal requirements are followed.

The responsibilities of a probate lawyer may include:

  • Reviewing wills and estate documents
  • Advising executors and beneficiaries
  • Preparing probate applications
  • Assisting with estate administration
  • Handling disputes relating to inheritance
  • Managing legal documentation
  • Providing guidance on asset distribution

Estate matters can involve complex legal procedures, especially when there are multiple beneficiaries, significant assets, or disagreements among family members.

Why a Probate Lawyer Is Important

Many families experience difficulties when handling an estate because they are unfamiliar with legal procedures. A probate lawyer provides guidance and helps reduce confusion during an emotionally challenging period.

Probate and estate administration involve various steps that must be completed correctly. Missing documents, incorrect applications, or delays in procedures can slow down the distribution of assets.

A probate lawyer helps ensure that the necessary steps are followed properly.

Protecting Beneficiary Rights

Beneficiaries may have questions about their inheritance rights or concerns about how an estate is being managed.

A probate lawyer can explain the legal position of beneficiaries and help address concerns regarding estate distribution.

Reducing Family Disputes

Inheritance disputes can create long-lasting conflicts among family members. Clear estate planning and proper legal guidance can help reduce disagreements.

A probate lawyer can assist in resolving disputes through negotiation or appropriate legal processes.

Understanding Will Writing Malaysia

Will writing Malaysia refers to the process of preparing a legal document that explains how a person’s assets should be distributed after their death.

A will allows an individual, known as the testator, to state their wishes regarding the distribution of property, financial assets, and personal belongings.

Without a properly prepared will, the distribution of assets may become more complicated and may not happen according to the person’s preferred wishes.

Why Will Writing Malaysia Is Important

Many people assume that estate planning is only necessary for wealthy individuals. However, anyone who owns assets, has family responsibilities, or wants to provide for loved ones can benefit from having a will.

A properly prepared will provides several important advantages.

Ensuring Your Wishes Are Followed

The main purpose of a will is to clearly communicate how assets should be distributed.

Without a will, family members may face uncertainty regarding the deceased person’s intentions.

A will allows individuals to decide how their assets should be handled rather than leaving the distribution process entirely to legal rules.

Protecting Family Members

A will can provide important protection for family members by clearly identifying beneficiaries and outlining inheritance arrangements.

This can be especially important for individuals with:

  • Young children
  • Dependants
  • Multiple properties
  • Business interests
  • Special family circumstances

Proper planning ensures that loved ones receive appropriate support.

Appointing Executors

A will allows an individual to appoint an executor who will be responsible for managing the estate administration process.

The executor’s role may include:

  • Identifying assets
  • Handling legal procedures
  • Paying outstanding obligations
  • Distributing assets to beneficiaries

Choosing a responsible executor can help ensure that the estate is managed effectively.

Key Elements of a Will in Malaysia

A well-prepared will should clearly address important matters related to estate distribution.

Common elements include:

Identification of the Testator

The will should clearly identify the person making the will to avoid uncertainty about ownership and instructions.

Appointment of Executors

The document should name the person or persons responsible for carrying out the instructions in the will.

Identification of Beneficiaries

A will should clearly state who will receive the assets. Beneficiaries may include:

  • Family members
  • Friends
  • Charitable organisations
  • Other chosen individuals or entities

Distribution of Assets

The will should explain how assets should be divided among beneficiaries.

Assets may include:

  • Real estate
  • Bank accounts
  • Investments
  • Personal belongings
  • Business interests

Clear instructions reduce the possibility of misunderstandings.

Guardianship Considerations

For parents with young children, a will can address arrangements relating to guardianship.

This allows parents to express their wishes regarding who should care for their children if they are no longer able to do so.

Common Mistakes in Will Writing Malaysia

Although writing a will may appear simple, mistakes can create problems for family members later.

Some common issues include:

Not Updating the Will

Life circumstances change over time. Major events such as marriage, divorce, the birth of children, acquisition of new assets, or changes in family relationships may require updates to a will.

An outdated will may no longer reflect a person’s current wishes.

Unclear Instructions

A will should use clear language to avoid confusion.

Ambiguous instructions may lead to disagreements among beneficiaries and make estate administration more difficult.

Forgetting Important Assets

Some individuals prepare wills without considering all their assets.

A complete estate plan should take into account different types of property and financial interests.

Choosing an Unsuitable Executor

The executor plays an important role in managing the estate. Selecting someone who is unable or unwilling to handle the responsibility may create complications.

The Relationship Between Probate Lawyer and Will Writing Malaysia

Probate lawyers and will writing services are closely connected because both focus on protecting a person’s estate and ensuring smoother inheritance processes.

A probate lawyer can assist during the preparation stage by providing advice on:

  • Asset distribution planning
  • Executor selection
  • Potential inheritance issues
  • Estate administration considerations

After a person passes away, the same legal expertise may be needed to manage probate and estate administration.

Benefits of Professional Will Writing Malaysia Services

While some people attempt to prepare their own wills, professional assistance provides several advantages.

A professionally prepared will is structured to clearly communicate the person’s wishes and reduce the risk of errors.

Better Understanding of Estate Issues

A lawyer can identify potential problems that individuals may not consider, such as complicated asset ownership, family circumstances, or future disputes.

Greater Confidence

Knowing that a will has been properly prepared provides peace of mind for individuals and their families.

Estate Planning Beyond Will Writing

A will is an important part of estate planning, but effective estate planning may involve other considerations as well.

Individuals may also consider:

  • Asset ownership arrangements
  • Financial planning
  • Trust arrangements
  • Business succession planning
  • Family protection strategies

A comprehensive approach helps ensure that assets are managed according to personal goals.

Probate Process in Malaysia

When a person passes away with a valid will, the executor generally needs to obtain the necessary authority to administer the estate.

The probate process involves steps such as:

  • Confirming the validity of the will
  • Applying for the relevant legal authority
  • Identifying estate assets
  • Settling outstanding obligations
  • Distributing assets to beneficiaries

A probate lawyer assists throughout this process by preparing documents and providing legal guidance.

What Happens Without a Will?

When a person passes away without a valid will, the estate may need to be distributed according to applicable inheritance rules.

This can create challenges because:

  • The deceased person’s wishes may not be known
  • Family members may disagree
  • Administration may take longer
  • Beneficiaries may face additional procedures

Having a properly prepared will helps provide clarity and direction.

Choosing the Right Probate Lawyer Malaysia

Selecting the right probate lawyer is important because estate matters often involve sensitive family and financial issues.

Important factors to consider include:

  • Experience in probate and estate matters
  • Understanding of inheritance issues
  • Ability to explain legal procedures clearly
  • Professional approach to sensitive situations
  • Attention to detail

A good probate lawyer should provide practical advice while respecting the wishes of the deceased and the interests of beneficiaries.

When Should You Consider Will Writing Malaysia?

Many people delay preparing a will because they believe it is something to consider later in life. However, estate planning can benefit individuals at different stages.

You may consider preparing a will when you:

  • Own property or valuable assets
  • Have children or dependants
  • Start a family
  • Acquire significant investments
  • Own a business
  • Want to provide clear instructions for loved ones

Preparing a will early and updating it when circumstances change helps ensure continued protection.

Conclusion

Probate lawyer services and will writing Malaysia play important roles in protecting assets, supporting families, and ensuring that personal wishes are respected after death.

A will provides clear instructions about asset distribution, while a probate lawyer helps manage the legal process of administering the estate. Together, they provide valuable support for individuals who want to create a proper estate plan.

Estate planning is not only about managing wealth. It is about providing clarity, reducing uncertainty, and protecting the people who matter most. By preparing a properly structured will and seeking professional guidance when necessary, individuals can ensure that their affairs are handled responsibly and their loved ones are better prepared for the future.

Manual vs Automatic Transmission for Beginner Drivers

For most beginner drivers, automatic is the easier and more practical choice, especially in Florida, where the vast majority of cars on the road are automatic and the state’s road test is built around it. Manual gives you more direct control over the car and a skill that some drivers value for its own sake, but it comes with a steeper learning curve that isn’t necessary for most people just trying to get licensed. Professional PalmWay driving school trains students on automatic vehicles, which lines up with both how most Florida drivers actually learn and how the road test is administered.

What Is the Difference Between Manual and Automatic Transmission

The core difference comes down to who controls gear changes – you, or the car itself.

A manual transmission requires the driver to shift gears using a stick shift while operating a clutch pedal with their left foot, coordinating clutch and gas at the same time to change speed smoothly. An automatic transmission handles gear shifting on its own, using only two pedals – gas and brake – which removes an entire layer of coordination from the driving process.

Key differences at a glance:

  • Manual has three pedals (clutch, brake, gas), automatic has two (brake, gas)
  • Manual requires shifting gears by hand, automatic shifts on its own
  • Manual demands more coordination when starting from a stop, automatic handles this automatically
  • Manual is less common in new US cars, automatic dominates the American market

How Gear Shifting Works in a Manual Transmission

Shifting a manual involves pressing the clutch to disengage the engine from the wheels, moving the gear stick to the next gear, and releasing the clutch while applying gas in a coordinated motion. Getting this timing wrong is what causes stalling, which almost every manual beginner experiences early on.

How Gear Shifting Works in an Automatic Transmission

An automatic transmission uses sensors and internal mechanics to shift gears based on speed and engine load, without any input from the driver beyond gas and brake. There’s no clutch to manage and no risk of stalling from bad timing.

Which Transmission Is Easier to Learn for Beginners

Automatic is easier to learn, and it’s not particularly close – most driving instructors will tell you this without hesitation.

Why Automatic Removes a Layer of Coordination for New Drivers

New drivers already have a lot to think about – mirrors, lane position, other traffic, road signs. Automatic transmission removes the added task of coordinating a clutch and gear stick, letting beginners focus entirely on the actual driving decisions happening around them.

Why Manual Takes Longer to Feel Natural

Manual driving requires building muscle memory for clutch control before it starts to feel automatic, and that process typically involves some stalling, jerky starts, and rolling backward on hills before it clicks.

How Long It Typically Takes to Get Comfortable With Each

Most beginners feel reasonably confident driving an automatic within a handful of lessons. Manual usually takes noticeably longer – often several additional sessions specifically dedicated to clutch control before a student feels natural starting from a stop or shifting through traffic.

Which Transmission Is Used for the Florida Road Test

Florida allows the road test to be taken in either transmission type, but the vehicle you test in determines what shows up on your actual license.

Testing on Automatic Versus Testing on Manual

You can take the road test in either an automatic or manual vehicle, and the exam itself – the maneuvers, the scoring – is the same regardless of which one you choose.

What Happens to Your License Restriction if You Test on Automatic

Testing in an automatic vehicle results in a license restricted to automatic transmission vehicles only, meaning you legally can’t drive a manual car until you retest in one. Testing in a manual removes that restriction and lets you legally drive either type. PalmWay trains and tests students on automatic vehicles, which matches what the large majority of Florida applicants choose, since most people plan to drive automatic cars anyway.

Pros and Cons of Learning on an Automatic Transmission

ProsCons
Easier and faster to learnLicense restricted to automatic-only if you test in one
Matches most cars on Florida roadsLess direct feel for engine and gear control
No risk of stallingSome drivers find it less engaging
Simpler to focus on traffic and road awareness as a beginnerLimits your options if you ever need to drive a manual car

Advantages of Starting With Automatic

Beyond ease of learning, automatic simply matches reality for most Florida drivers – it’s what you’ll rent, what most people around you drive, and what the majority of new cars come with anyway.

Drawbacks of Skipping Manual Entirely

The main downside is the automatic-only restriction on your license, which becomes relevant if you ever need to drive a manual car, whether that’s a rental abroad or a specific vehicle a friend or employer needs you to drive.

Pros and Cons of Learning on a Manual Transmission

ProsCons
No transmission restriction on your licenseSteeper learning curve
More direct control over the vehicleSlower to feel confident and natural
Useful skill for driving internationallyHarder to find manual cars to practice on
Some drivers find it more engaging to driveMore things to coordinate as a beginner

Advantages of Learning to Drive Stick

Learning manual first means your license comes with no transmission restriction at all, and it opens up driving options – certain sports cars, older vehicles, and rentals in parts of the world where manual is still standard.

Drawbacks of Learning Manual as a First Transmission

The tradeoff is a genuinely harder learning process, more lessons needed before road test readiness, and fewer manual vehicles available to actually practice on, since they’ve become a shrinking share of the US market.

How Common Are Manual Transmission Cars in Florida

Manual transmission has become the exception rather than the rule on American roads, and Florida is no different.

Percentage of New Cars Sold With Manual Transmission

Manual transmissions now make up a small single-digit percentage of new car sales in the US, a steep drop from decades past when stick shifts were far more standard.

Why Manual Is Becoming Rare Even Among Enthusiasts

Even performance-oriented buyers who once preferred manual for the driving feel have increasingly shifted toward automatic and dual-clutch transmissions, which have closed much of the performance gap that used to justify choosing manual.

Does Learning Manual First Make You a Better Driver

This is one of the most common claims around manual driving, and the honest answer is more nuanced than a flat yes or no.

Skills Manual Driving Reinforces That Automatic Does Not

Manual driving does build a sharper sense of engine behavior, throttle control, and mechanical awareness, since you’re actively managing power delivery rather than letting the car handle it.

Why This Advantage Matters Less With Modern Road Conditions

Most everyday driving – commuting, highway merging, city traffic – doesn’t actually call on those specific mechanical skills in a way that makes a measurable difference in safety or competence behind the wheel.

What Actually Matters More for Becoming a Confident Driver

Situational awareness, hazard recognition, and consistent practice under real traffic conditions matter far more to becoming a genuinely confident, safe driver than which transmission you learned on first.

Which Transmission Should a Beginner Choose

For most beginners, the decision comes down to a simple question – do you have a specific reason to need manual, or are you just trying to get licensed and driving confidently as quickly as possible.

Choose automatic if:

  • You plan to test and drive daily in Florida
  • You want the fastest, least stressful path to a license
  • Most of the cars you’ll drive going forward are automatic anyway

Choose manual if:

  • You plan to drive internationally where manual is more common
  • You specifically want the skill for personal or professional reasons
  • You have consistent access to a manual vehicle to practice on

PalmWay works with students to figure out which path actually fits their goals, and trains toward road test readiness on automatic vehicles, which covers what most students in Florida are aiming for.

Can You Switch From Automatic to Manual Later

Yes, and it’s a common path – plenty of drivers learn automatic first and pick up manual later once they have a specific reason to.

How Much of the Learning Transfers Between Transmissions

Steering, spatial awareness, traffic judgment, and general road confidence all transfer directly. What doesn’t transfer is clutch control, which has to be learned separately regardless of how experienced you already are as a driver.

Where to Practice Manual Transmission After Learning Automatic

Some driving schools offer manual-specific lessons for licensed drivers looking to add the skill, and practicing in an empty lot with an experienced manual driver in the passenger seat is a common low-pressure starting point.

What to Expect From a Driving Lesson Based on Transmission Type

The structure of a lesson shifts noticeably depending on which transmission a student is learning on.

How Automatic Lessons Are Structured for Beginners

Automatic lessons move relatively quickly from basic control into real driving situations, since there’s no separate clutch-control stage to work through before students can focus on traffic, turns, and road awareness.

How Manual Lessons Differ in Pacing and Difficulty

Manual lessons dedicate significant early time specifically to clutch control – starting from a stop, shifting smoothly, avoiding stalls – before moving into the same traffic and maneuver practice automatic students reach much sooner. Professional PalmWay driving school structures its lessons around dual-control automatic vehicles, which lets beginners move efficiently toward road test readiness without the extra clutch-control stage most manual students have to work through first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you take the Florida road test in a manual car Yes, Florida allows the road test in either an automatic or manual vehicle, and testing in a manual removes the automatic-only restriction from your resulting license.

Is it harder to insure a manual transmission car as a new driver Not typically – insurance rates are based more on the driver’s age, experience, and the vehicle itself than on transmission type specifically.

Do rental cars in Florida come in manual Rarely – the vast majority of rental cars in Florida are automatic, since that matches both local demand and the broader US market.

Is manual transmission still taught in most driving schools Most driving schools in Florida focus on automatic instruction since it matches what most students will actually drive, though some offer manual lessons on request for students with a specific reason to learn it.

PORTLAND, Ore. (Friday, Aug. 7, 2026) – Alex Palou’s path toward history became just a bit smoother Friday after he led the opening practice for the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland.

Series leader Palou, aiming for his record-tying fourth consecutive NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship and fifth overall, was quickest at Portland International Raceway with a best lap of 58.5716 seconds in the No. 10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda. Palou and CGR teammates Scott Dixon and Kyffin Simpson tested July 29 at the 12-turn, 1.964-mile circuit, a decision that’s paying dividends.

“Good day, great start,” Palou said. “I think there’s some work to do with the alternates (Firestone Firehawk tires), but we were really good on primaries, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow.

“It’s good that we tested here because it allowed us to start with good speed already in the No. 10 DHL Honda. But, yeah, some work to do still. We just need more speed.”

Kyle Kirkwood was second overall in the 64-minute session divided into three groups, turning a best lap of 58.6602 in the No. 27 Sam’s Club Honda of Andretti Global. Kirkwood is third in the series standings, 87 points behind Palou and four points behind second-place David Malukas of Team Penske. Kirkwood’s engineers made significant changes to the car setup that resulted in him qualifying 19th and finishing 20th last year at this race.

“We definitely came here with a much different car than we’ve ever ran here, and hopefully it’s paying off,” Kirkwood said. “Early days here, but it’s promising. Compared to where we were last year, this is a big step in the right direction.”

Rinus VeeKay continued his strong season by ending up third at 58.7996 in the No. 76 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet. VeeKay is 10th in the standings for one of the smallest teams in the series.

Two-time reigning Portland winner Will Power was fourth at 58.9096 in the No. 27 TWG AI Honda of Andretti Global, which he joined this season after 15 full-time seasons with Team Penske. Louis Foster rallied from technical problems early in the session that forced extended repair time in the paddock, rounding out the top five at 58.9274 in the No. 45 Desnuda Organic Tequila Honda of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

Malukas, 83 points back of Palou, stopped the clocks eighth at 58.9888 in the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet that Power drove to victory the last two years at Portland.

Marcus Armstrong of Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian and Pato O’Ward of Arrow McLaren needed extended time in the pits for repairs after clouting the Armco barrier at the apex of the circuit’s tricky Turn 1 with their respective right-front wheels in separate incidents.

Up next is the second practice at 1 p.m. ET Saturday, followed by NTT P1 Award qualifying at 7 p.m. ET (FS1). Expect a close chase for the pole and first few rows of the starting grid, as less than one-half second separated the top 10 on the speed chart Friday.

The 110-lap race starts at 4 p.m. ET Sunday on FOX and FOX Deportes. FOX One and INDYCAR Radio powered by OnlyBulls also will broadcast all sessions this weekend.

Koolen Paces Surprising Top Five After First Portland Practice

PORTLAND, Ore. (Friday, Aug. 7, 2026) – If the first practice is any indication, the INDY NXT by Firestone Grand Prix of Portland could be a very interesting race with major championship implications.

Just one of the top five drivers on the time sheet Friday at Portland International Raceway is in the top five in the championship standings for the INDYCAR development series. Niels Koolen, 16th in points, led with a best lap of 1 minute, 3.0405 seconds in the No. 10 Chip Ganassi Racing car.

“It seems all the prep we did as a team for this track paid off so far,” Koolen said. “Let’s see if we can keep this up for the rest of the weekend.”

Seb Murray of Andretti Global, 13th in points, ended up second at 1:03.0861 in the No. 27 Megatron machine on the 12-turn, 1.964-mile natural road course. Murray’s teammate Lochie Hughes, fifth in points, was third at 1:03.1374 in the No. 26 Andretti Global entry.

Surprises continued with JM Correa, 11th in points, ending up fourth at 1:03.1984 in the No. 68 Cusick Morgan Motorsports car. Myles Rowe, sixth in points, rounded out the top five at 1:03.3058 in the No. 99 Abel Motorsports with Force Indy machine.

It wasn’t the strongest session for the top three title contenders.

Points leader Nikita Johnson was 13th at 1:03.5915 in the No. 21 Cape Motorsports Powered by ECR entry.

“Traffic was a little bit difficult,” series rookie Johnson said. “(The circuit) is so flowy that it’s kind of hard to see in your mirrors sometimes, and even I messed up, as well, on some of these laps. It’s kind of hard for everyone to see who’s behind. A little bit of traffic here and there, but we had the car in a better window at the end.”

Enzo Fittipaldi, just one point behind Johnson in second, was 18th at 1:03.9284 in the No. 67 HMD Motorsports car. His fellow rookie teammate Tymek Kucharcyzk, 25 points behind Johnson in third, was the quickest of the tight trio atop the standings in 12th at 1:03.5783 in the No. 71 HMD Motorsports entry.

All three of the title contenders can take solace in knowing less than one second separated the top 20 drivers on the speed chart.

In another interesting storyline this weekend, 2024 series runner-up Jacob Abel was ninth at 1:03.4055 in the No. 48 Abel Motorsports car in his first INDY NXT by Firestone start since the end of the 2024 season.

Up next is a second practice at noon ET Saturday, followed by qualifying at 3 p.m. ET. The 35-lap race starts at 2 p.m. ET Sunday. FS1, FOX One and INDYCAR Radio powered by OnlyBulls are broadcasting the remaining sessions this weekend.

Marcus Ericsson returning to Andretti Global for 2027 IndyCar season

Photo by Tim Jarrold for SpeedwayMedia.com.

Marcus Ericsson will be returning to Andretti Global for the 2027 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.

The news comes as the 35-year-old Ericsson from Kumla, Sweden, is currently campaigning in his eighth full-time season in IndyCar competition and third in a row driving the No. 28 Dallara-Honda entry for Andretti Global.

This season, Ericsson achieved his first IndyCar career pole for the series’ inaugural Grand Prix event at the Streets of Arlington, Texas, in mid-March. He also holds an average-finishing result of 12.2 through 12-scheduled starts and has finished in the top-10 mark six times, which includes a podium by finishing in the runner-up spot at World Wide Technology Raceway in early June.

Currently, Ericsson is ranked in ninth place in the 2026 driver’s standings. Despite trailing points leader Alex Palou by 207 points, he is 14 points above the top-10 mark with six events remaining on this year’s schedule.

“I’m really excited about the contract extension,” Ericsson said. “I think it’s been a good year for us. We’ve really been turning things around after last year, and we’ve put in a lot of hard work, and that’s really been paying off. The results haven’t always gone our way this year, but I feel like we’ve been competitive and in the mix on every type of track. That makes me excited for next year and to be able to build on the momentum we’ve created this year. So, I’m super excited about that. I’m very thankful to Jill [Gregory, president], Dan [Towriss, team partner], Cassidy [Towriss, team parnter] and everyone else on the team for the trust they’ve put in me and for believing in me. Now we’re going to finish this season strong, put our heads down and come back even stronger next year.”

Ericsson first transitioned to IndyCar competition in 2019 after spending the previous five seasons competing in Formula 1. After notching his maiden podium by finishing in the runner-up spot at The Raceway on Belle Isle, Michigan, and finishing in 17th place in the 2019 standings with Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, the Swedish competitor spent the next four seasons driving for Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR).

As a CGR competitior, Ericsson notched his four IndyCar victories, to date, between 2021 to 2023. His first career victory occurred at Belle Isle in in mid-June 2021 and he backed it up two months later by winning the inaugural Grant Prix event at Nashville Street Circuit. Ericsson then achieved his biggest victory to date in May 2022 by winning the 106th running of the Indianapolis 500 following a two-lap shootout and becoming the second Swedish competitor to win the Greatest Spectacle in Racing. His latest victory occurred in early March 2023 when he won the season-opening event at the Streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. During each of his victorious seasons, he finished a career-high sixth place in the final standings.

Since 2024, Ericsson has driven for Andretti Global, where he has finished as high as second place twice and has notched a combined 16 top-10 results through 47 starts with the organization. His one-year renewal to remain at Andretti completes the organization’s 2027 IndyCar lineup that also includes Kyle Kirkwood and Will Power.

Through 126 current starts in IndyCar competition, Ericsson has achieved four victories, a pole, 12 podiums, 294 laps led and an average-finishing result of 12.2 as he continues his pursuit for his first IndyCar championship.

“One of our priorities has been building consistency across our INDYCAR program, and bringing Marcus back is an important part of that,” Jill Gregory, President of Andretti Global, said. “He’s shown exactly what he’s capable of this season through the speed and results he’s delivered. Keeping our driver lineup together next season allows us to build on the chemistry and performance we’ve established as a team.”

With his plans for next season set, Marcus Ericsson’s 2027 NTT INDYCAR Series season resumes this upcoming Sunday, August 9, at Portland International Raceway in Portland, Oregon, for the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland. The event’s broadcast time is slated to commence at 4 p.m. ET on FOX.

Platform Success Blueprint: Choosing a Reliable Game Provider in 2026

Photo by yousef samuil on Unsplash

Launching an online casino or sportsbook is never only about glossy branding. Long-term revenue hinges on whether integrated games run flawlessly, keep audiences entertained, and satisfy regulators across multiple markets. Selecting the right studio partner may feel overwhelming because pitch decks overflow with buzzwords and demo videos. A systematic approach cuts through the noise and protects both reputation and bottom line.

In practical terms, due diligence starts with back-end solidity. Robust online gambling software frameworks allow titles to load quickly, update jackpots in real time, and collect detailed performance data without draining server resources. An operator that ignores infrastructure risks long queues at peak traffic and irritated players who never return.

Regulatory Footing and Corporate Transparency

Every credible provider treats licensing as a baseline, not a final checkbox. Malta, Isle of Man, Gibraltar, and increasingly Ontario require independent RNG audits, secure data centers, and clear anti-money-laundering protocols. Proven compliance history signals discipline that translates directly into smoother platform approval across other jurisdictions.

First Checklist: Non-Negotiable Compliance Signals

  • Active Tier-One Licenses
Current certificates from at least two top-tier regulators confirm serious investment in legality.
  • Third-Party RTP Reports
Published return-to-player percentages, updated each quarter, reflect commitment to statistical transparency.
  • Responsible-Gaming Toolset
Built-in session limits, reality checks, and self-exclusion APIs make meeting local safer-play mandates easier.
  • Data Security Accreditation
ISO 27001 or equivalent standards demonstrate mature information-security practices.
  • Clear Ownership Structure
Publicly listed parent companies or audited financial statements reduce hidden-risk exposure.

Choosing a supplier that ranks high on these measures decreases onboarding friction and reassures payment processors that the platform does not shelter gray-area activity.

Once regulatory boxes are ticked, decision-makers can focus on the softer science of brand alignment. Theme variety, feature innovation, and art direction must resonate with the platform’s target demographics. A portfolio aimed at high-volatility thrill seekers may alienate casual slot fans who prefer low-risk entertainment. Conversely, cartoon-heavy releases could jar on a high-roller VIP site that sells sleek minimalism.

Technical Integration and Support Commitments

Deployment speed matters because every day without fresh content costs potential turnover. Providers that package games through lightweight SDKs shorten launch timelines, while single-session authentication reduces log-in loops that hurt retention. Around-the-clock technical support further shields revenue by resolving bugs before social-media backlash erupts.

A close look at back-office portals is equally revealing. Comprehensive dashboards track hit frequency, wager size, and geographic share in near real time, empowering marketing teams to tweak promotions for maximum lift. Poor analytics, on the other hand, leave growth to guesswork.

Testing remains crucial even when documentation appears airtight. Staging environments should expose performance under simulated peak traffic, verify bonus triggers, and stress-test wallet synchronization. If crashes occur during internal QA, expect worse during public release.

Diversified delivery formats extend reach beyond desktop. Mobile portrait mode, quick-spin toggles, and low-bandwidth versions cater to on-the-go bettors in emerging markets. Studios that overlook adaptive design risk sliding into irrelevance as handheld play overtakes old-school browser sessions.

Second Checklist: Growth-Acceleration Advantages

  • Modular Feature Catalogs
Reskinnable bonuses and free-spin mechanics enable rapid seasonal campaigns without drawn-out development cycles.
  • Localized Voice-Overs and UI
Ten or more language packs, including right-to-left scripts, save translation budgets and attract untapped regions.
  • Streamer-Ready Win Moments
Short, cinematic bonus reveals drive organic exposure on Twitch and YouTube.
  • Flexible RTP Bands
Adjustable return percentages let compliance teams adapt to country-specific rules without requesting code rewrites.
  • Crypto-Friendly Accounting
Native support for blockchain wallets widens deposit options and addresses privacy-minded clientele.

By spacing premium features across quarterly releases, a provider can maintain headline visibility and keep existing users curious rather than fatigued.

Beyond Contracts: Long-Term Partnership Culture

Numbers seldom capture attitude, yet working chemistry often decides success. Studios that schedule joint roadmap sessions, share beta builds for feedback, and accept co-branding ideas foster a sense of joint ownership. Regular webinars where product managers explain upcoming mechanics help operator teams design matching promotions early, maximizing launch impact.

Marketing collaboration is also worth scrutiny. Sweepstakes overlays, networked jackpots, and leaderboard tournaments encourage cross-title traffic surges that single games rarely achieve alone. Providers willing to fund prize pools or offer discounted placement bundles show confidence in their content and alignment with operator goals.

Final Thoughts

Securing a reliable game provider demands a balance of legal certainty, technical excellence, and creative synergy. A shortlist built on the two checklists above filters out flashy sellers lacking substance and highlights studios equipped for sustainable joint growth. With rock-solid infrastructure, transparent compliance, and adaptable feature pipelines in place, an online platform gains more than entertainment catalog depth; it earns a competitive edge that keeps patrons spinning, staking, and returning far into the future.

RCR Race Preview: Iowa Speedway

Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series at Iowa Speedway… The NASCAR Cup Series returns to Iowa Speedway this weekend for the Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol, marking the Cup Series’ third appearance to the 0.875-mile, D-shaped oval designed by Rusty Wallace. Last year, Austin Dillon led the RCR brigade with a 10th-place result at the Newton, Iowa racetrack, which is also RCR’s best finish in four starts at the track.

Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at Iowa Speedway… Although the Cup Series’ history at Iowa Speedway is relatively short, RCR has been a staple at the track in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, with 60 total starts since 2009. RCR boasts one win among 16 top-five finishes, 30 top-10 finishes and five pole awards at the Midwest oval. In 2012, Elliott Sadler started from the pole and led 60 laps enroute to Victory Lane for the Welcome, N.C.-based organization.

Short Track Prowess… In addition to the organization’s Cup Series and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series competition record, RCR has a winning history in the NASCAR Truck Series and the ARCA Menards Series at Iowa Speedway. Austin Dillon secured his career-first Truck Series win in his rookie season at the track in 2010, notably winning the pole and leading 187 of 205 laps in the race. Ty Dillon led 193 of 200 laps to earn RCR an ARCA victory at the track in 2011, also from the pole.

Catch Saturday’s Action… The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series’ Hy-Vee Perks 250 will be televised live on Saturday, August 8 at 5 p.m. ET on The CW and stream live on the ESPN App with ESPN Unlimited. The live radio broadcast can be heard on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90. Saturday morning’s practice and qualifying session will be shown on The CW App and stream live on the ESPN App with ESPN Unlimited beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET.

Austin Dillon and the No. 3 Get Bioethanol Chevrolet at Iowa Speedway… Sunday’s Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol will mark Austin Dillon’s third career NASCAR Cup Series start at Iowa Speedway. Last year, Dillon qualified 18th and ran consistently inside the top-15, before coming home with a 10th-place finish. This effort marked the 36-year-old’s best Cup Series result at the Newton, Iowa track.

Beyond the Cup Series… Dillon has seven NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series starts to his credit at Iowa Speedway, earning three top-five and four top-10 finishes, and leading a total of 376 laps. In three NASCAR Truck Series starts at the 0,875-mile oval, Dillon boasts one win (2010) and two top-five results. The North Carolina native also earned a top-five finish in his lone ARCA Menards Series start at the track in 2009.

A Memorable First… Dillon earned his career-first NASCAR national series win at Iowa Speedway in 2010 during his rookie year of competition in the Truck Series. The racer bested Johnny Sauter during a green-white-checkered finish to claim his career-first Truck Series victory in just his 12th Series start. At only 20 years, 2 months, 37 days old, Dillon became the Series’ second-youngest winner at the time, just shy of record-holder Kyle Busch (20 years, 18 days old).

Pole Award Winner x2… Dillon has earned pole awards in both the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (2013) and the Truck Series (2011) at Iowa Speedway.

Powered by American Innovation… Dillon will race the Get Bioethanol Chevrolet in the Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol this weekend, featuring a patriotic paint scheme that celebrates the farmers, innovators, and communities that help power America every day. On the track, NASCAR’s high-performance race fuel contains American-made bioethanol, delivering the high-octane performance drivers rely on every race weekend. NASCAR drivers have raced over 25 million miles on Sunoco Race Fuel with Zero Carbon Bioethanol, proving that American-grown energy can power peak performance at the highest level of motorsports. Learn more about bioethanol at www.getbiofuel.com.

Beyond the Track… Did you know that in addition to motorsports, one of Dillon’s passions is the Western lifestyle? He grew up watching Western movies with his family, visiting his family’s ranch in Montana, and considers John Wayne a hero. Dillon had the opportunity to visit the John Wayne Birthplace and Museum in Winterset, Iowa, as part of a media tour to promote Iowa Speedway in 2010. Those early life experiences helped prepare and shape the 2018 Daytona 500 winner for his current role as general manager of the Carolina Cowboys, a professional bull riding team in the PBR Teams League owned by Richard Childress and Jeff Broin. The Cowboys boast a talented roster with several high-profile and talented bull riders that Dillon hand selected for the team, including 2018 PBR Rookie of the Year and 2025 Challenger Series Champion Keyshawn Whitehorse, and standout Brazilians Elizmar Jeremias and Thiago Salgado. The Cowboys are in the midst of defending their 2025 championship and preparing for their 2026 “Cowboy Days” home stand September 18-20 at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Tickets are on sale at PBR.com and Ticketmaster.com.

Meet Dillon… Fans will have two opportunities to meet Dillon this weekend at Iowa Speedway. On Sunday, August 9 at 10 a.m. Local Time, Dillon is scheduled to sign autographs at the RCR Merchandise Hauler located in the Fan Midway at Iowa Speedway. At 10:35 a.m. ET, the six-time Cup Series winner is scheduled to appear at the Team Chevy Racing Display in the Fan Midway for a question-and-answer session. The display features a variety of vehicles, including Chevy’s Silverado 2500 LTZ, Tahoe High Country, Silverado 1500 LTZ, Equinox EV RS, Traverse RS, Corvette Z06, Blazer EV SS, Colorado ZR2, and NASCAR Cup Series Camaro ZL1 show car.

AUSTIN DILLON QUOTES:

Do you consider Iowa Speedway a short track? It’s a unique size compared to some of the other tracks we race at in the NASCAR Cup Series.

“Iowa Speedway to me felt like a mini mile-and-a-half, but now it has a lot of character and it’s pretty rough. It does have that short track feel to it, truthfully, as rough as it is. When it was freshly paved it was like a mini mile-and-a-half, but now it feels like a short track.”

What makes Iowa Speedway stand out?

“Iowa is a short track, it’s got a lot of character, hard winters, hot summers. It’s fun to go there. We’ll try to work on the balance of the No. 3 Get Bioethanol Chevrolet to make sure we can get through the bumps and be sure to take care of our tires. I think this race is going to be one of the best ones because of how aged the track is.”

You have had such an amazing run at Richmond Raceway. What is it about that track, and how can you apply that to other tracks, such as Iowa Speedway?

“I would say Richmond Raceway was probably my worst track at one point in my career. I really struggled there. At one test I kind of figured out how to approach a particular groove or line around the track. I’ve kept that consistency ever since, and I’m also very decisive before we get there in the simulator. I have a feel for it there, as well. Of course I am trying to recreate that feeling at other places, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. I think another track we have shown promise at is Iowa Speedway. We ran well there last year, and I think there are similarities between the two aging surfaces. Any place that has high tire wear, I think I show up and have pretty good throttle control and that tends to help me. Just trying to be decisive on a line when I get to these tracks is pretty important.”

Austin Hill and the No. 33 Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen Chevrolet at Iowa Speedway… Austin Hill will make his first NASCAR Cup Series start at Iowa Speedway on Sunday. In preparation for the Cup Series event, Hill has spent time in a simulator at the GM Charlotte Technical Center in Concord, North Carolina and watched previous race footage.

Experienced Driver… Although new to Cup Series competition at Iowa Speedway, Hill does have nine starts at the Newton, Iowa track, spread amongst the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, NASCAR Truck Series starts, and the NASCAR Pro Series East.

Meet Hill… On Sunday, August 9 at 11:15 a.m. Local Time, Hill is scheduled to sign autographs at the RCR Merchandise Hauler located in the Fan Midway at Iowa Speedway. Stop by to meet the racer and purchase new gear before the green flag waves.

AUSTIN HILL QUOTE:

What is your mindset heading into Iowa Speedway?

“Iowa should be a good challenge for our Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen team. I’ve watched past races and spent time in the simulator to prep for this weekend. Austin (Dillon) and the No. 3 team were solid there last year and left with a top-10 finish, so we are going to use their notes to put us close at the start of practice. Getting a full 50-minute practice session now should be good for our team, because it allows me to have more laps to learn the track in the Cup car and also allows Andy (Street, crew chief) and the guys to make a few more adjustments. If we execute throughout the weekend, I think we can have a good finish.”

Jesse Love and the No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet at Iowa Speedway… Jesse Love has made two career NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series starts at Iowa Speedway. Last year, the Menlo Park, California native started on pole, led 31 laps and finished inside the top-10 in both stages enroute to a second-place finish. In addition, the young gun has competed in four ARCA Menards Series races at the 0.875-mile facility, posting one pole, one top-five and two top-10 finishes.

Get to the Points… Love is currently third in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver championship point standings, 269 points behind leader Justin Allgaier and only four points behind second-place Carson Kvapil.

Meet Love… On Saturday, August 8 at 1:10 p.m. Local Time, Love is scheduled to sign autographs at the RCR Merchandise Hauler located in the Fan Midway at Iowa Speedway. Stop by to meet Love and purchase new No. 2 gear.

JESSE LOVE QUOTE:

You had a strong outing at Iowa Speedway last year. What’s the approach this season?

“Our Whelen Chevrolet was fast at Iowa last year. We qualified on the pole and took home a second-place finish. Where we struggled was fire-off on the restarts. We were the fastest car on the track, but it took our Chevrolet five to 10 laps of a run to get there. Last year I remember the track freed up a ton during the race, and the team combated that by making big swings that kept us in the hunt. It would be great to put the No. 2 back in Victory Lane this weekend – it’s what we’ve been chasing all season and working towards week in and week out.”

Austin Hill and the No. 21 Bennett Transportation and Logistics Chevrolet at Iowa Speedway… Austin Hill will make his second NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series start at Iowa Speedway on Saturday. In his lone Series outing at the 0.875-mile oval during the 2024 season, Hill earned the pole and was in contention for a victory, before ultimately being involved in an on-track incident during the final stage.

Beyond the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series… Beyond the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, Hill has plenty of experience at Iowa Speedway, having competed in two NASCAR Truck Series races (best finish of 12th) and six NASCAR Pro Series East (best finish of seventh) events. This weekend, Hill will continue his double-duty schedule and compete in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race.

Experienced Short Tracker… In 19 career O’Reilly Auto Parts Series starts on tracks shorter than one mile in length, Hill has earned one win, three top-five finishes and seven top-10 results.

Get to the Points…  Hill currently sits seventh in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver championship standings and is mathematically locked into the Chase with two races remaining in the regular season. The 16-time Series winner is 328 points behind leader Justin Allgaier and only four points behind sixth-place Brandon Jones.

AUSTIN HILL QUOTE:

What is the team’s mindset heading into Iowa Speedway?

“I thought we were pretty good at Iowa Speedway two years ago when I last raced there. We had a shot to win the race, then cut a left-front tire. I know the track has aged over these last two years, so I am sure the track is going to be a little bit different than it was the last time that we were there. However, we are prepared and have been spending a lot of time focusing on our Bennett Transportation and Logistics Chevrolet. I feel good about it.”
