Wood Brothers Racing – Race Week Briefing: Texas Motor Speedway

Event: Würth 400
Date/Time: Sunday, May 3, 2026, 3:30 p.m. ET
Location: Texas Motor Speedway, Fort Worth, Texas
Layout: 1.5-Mile Oval
TV/Radio: FS1, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio

As the Würth 400 takes center stage at Texas Motor Speedway, Josh Berry’s No. 21 Ford Mustang Dark Horse will carry the same Würth look on track, with the Würth Group – a global leader in assembly and fastening materials – featured across both the race and the car.

Texas Motor Speedway, a 1.5-mile oval near Fort Worth, is one of several intermediate tracks on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule, but its layout presents a unique challenge with two distinctly different ends of the track.

“Texas itself is definitely very unique,” Berry said. “Both ends of the track are so much different.

“[Turns] One and Two is a good bit less banking and kind of a more disciplined-based corner in a way. It’s easy to get high, easy to get out of line.

“Then Three and Four is just hammer down, but obviously you have that bump to navigate through off of Four, so it’s definitely a very interesting place.

“It’s a unique mile-and-a-half for sure.”

Berry will make his third NASCAR Cup Series start at Texas this weekend as the Wood Brothers Racing team looks to bounce back after getting caught in an accident at Talladega Superspeedway.

Practice for the Würth 400 is set for Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET, followed by qualifying at 1:40 p.m. ET, with coverage on Prime Video.

Sunday’s 267-lap, 400.5-mile race is scheduled to take the green flag just after 3:30 p.m. ET with television coverage on FS1. Stage 1 is set to end at Lap 80, with Stage 2 concluding at Lap 165.

Saturday, May 2

Berry will sign autographs at the Team Penske/Wood Brothers merchandise hauler beginning at 2:10 p.m. local time in the Texas Motor Speedway fan zone. 100 wristbands will be distributed on a first come, first-served basis.

RCR Race Preview: Texas Motor Speedway

Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series at Texas Motor Speedway… Richard Childress Racing has three wins among 126 starts in the NASCAR Cup Series at Texas Motor Speedway. The Welcome, North Carolina-based race team most recently appeared in Victory Lane with Tyler Reddick in 2022, leading the final 24 laps en route to his first win in the Lone Star State. Austin Dillon was victorious at the Fort Worth facility in 2020. Dillon led the final 10 laps and edged teammate Reddick by just 0.149 seconds to score the win – his first at Texas Motor Speedway and the 109th all-time Cup Series victory for RCR. RCR first found Victory Lane with Jeff Burton in April 2007. Burton only led the final lap as he secured his 19th career Cup Series victory. RCR has earned 11 top-five and 39 top-10 finishes on the 1.5-mile quad-oval.

Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at Texas Motor Speedway… Richard Childress Racing has 104 starts in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at Texas Motor Speedway, acquiring five wins, all earned by Kevin Harvick (2001, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2012). RCR has earned 27 top-five and 58 top-10 finishes along with six pole awards as an organization. Last season, both Austin Hill and Jesse Love scored top-10 finishes with Hill finishing fourth and Love finishing seventh in the race. Hill has reeled five consecutive top-10s for RCR at Texas Motor Speedway, including a second-place finish in the fall 2022 race.

Three Times the Fun… This weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, RCR will field three O’Reilly Auto Parts Series teams, with Austin Dillon driving the No. 3 Boot Barn Chevrolet. This weekend marks Dillon’s first start in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series since he raced at Iowa Speedway last August.

Helping A Hero… This past week, RCR Chairman and CEO Richard Childress hosted the Lee Greenwood Patriot Awards at Childress Vineyards in Lexington, North Carolina alongside the Helping A Hero organization. Helpingahero.org is a 501(c)(3) that awards adapted homes to catastrophically wounded heroes injured in the Global War on Terror. To-date, more than 58 heroes in 21 states have been awarded homes as part of the 100 Home Challenge, an initiative launched by Bass Pro Shops founder and lead outfitter, Johnny Morris. The North Carolina native also earned the pole award at the 1.5-mile track in 2016. Dillon has 11 starts in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at the track, most recently finishing fourth in 2017. The 2011 NASCAR Truck Series Champion has five Truck Series starts at Texas with a career-best finish of second in 2011, and a pole award in 2010.

Winner, Winner… Dillon won the Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway in July 2020, the third of his six career victories in the series. The Texas win was part of a 1-2 finish for RCR, with former teammate Tyler Reddick finishing second. The victory earned Dillon an automatic berth to the Cup Series Playoffs and marked RCR’s first 1-2 finish in the premier series since 2011.

Did You Know? Dillon’s 2016 pole award at Texas Motor Speedway remains RCR’s lone Cup Series pole in 126 Series starts at the Fort Worth track. In total, Dillon owns six poles in Cup Series competition, most recently sitting on the pole in 2019 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Last Week… After qualifying was rained out, Dillon began last Sunday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway from the 18th position. From the very beginning of the race, the No. 3 team showed speed by running up front and leading laps during Stage 1. When the “Big One” occurred during Stage 2, the six-time Cup Series winner avoided the chaos in front of him and escaped with minimal damage. During the race’s final stage, Dillon ran in the top-10, steadily working his way forward and was in position for a top-five finish before a crash on the final lap involving the veteran driver resulted in a 19th-place finish.

Double Duty… In addition to his driving duties in Sunday’s Cup Series race, Dillon will pilot the No. 3 Boot Barn Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet in Saturday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race.

Stop by and visit Dillon before the green flag waves.

AUSTIN DILLON QUOTES:

What are your thoughts on Texas Motor Speedway?

“The place is fast and it’s big. You’ve got to go out there and commit to Turns 3 and 4. It’s one of the fastest tracks we go to all year long. I have confidence going there for sure. We’ve just got to go out there, qualify well, execute, and make it happen when it counts.”

What’s one moment at Texas Motor Speedway that sticks out to you?

“There are a lot of memorable moments at Texas Motor Speedway, but one that really sticks out is winning against my teammate, Tyler Reddick, there a couple years back in the NASCAR Cup Series. We were battling out those restarts at the end. We weren’t a great car that day. We were probably a 10th-12th place car, and both of us decided to take two tires to get up front and tack control of the race. And then, with clean air our cars took off. My confidence was high. We just kept having restarts and were able to make it happen.”

What do you enjoy most about being in Texas?

“I love Texas. I grew up hunting down there as a kid. I have a lot of memories deer hunting with my grandfather, so I fell in love with the state early on. I’ve had some success at Texas Motor Speedway. Texas is a cool place. I feel more like a cowboy when I’m there. Some of our bull riders on the PBR Teams Series are based in the Fort Worth area, so I get to visit them and do a little racing also.”

Kyle Busch and the No. 8 zone Watermelon x Circle K Chevrolet at Texas Motor Speedway… Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway will mark Kyle Busch’s 36th career Cup Series start at the track. Busch has four wins at the mile-and-a-half oval (the spring races in 2013, 2016 and 2018, as well as the fall race in 2020). Additionally at Texas, Busch has 14 top-five and 19 top-10 finishes, 1,069 laps led, an average starting position of 14.4, an average finishing position of 12.5, and has completed 94.9 percent (10,921 of 11,488) of the laps he’s contested there.

Birthday Wishes… This Saturday, May 2, Busch celebrates his 41st birthday. The two-time Cup Series champion, alongside NASCAR Hall of Famers Cale Yarborough and Matt Kenseth, are the only three drivers in NASCAR history to win a Cup Series race on their birthday. The soon-to-be 41-year-old accomplished the feat twice by winning at Richmond Raceway in 2009 and at Kansas Speedway in 2021. Busch and Yarborough are the only two drivers to win twice on their birthday.

Texas Four Step… Busch is the winningest active driver at Texas Motor Speedway. He earned his first Cup Series victory at the Lone Star State track in April 2013. He took the lead after a lightning-fast pit stop during the final caution, leading the final 19 laps en route to his first Cup Series victory at the 1.5-mile speedway. In April 2016, Busch went on the outside of Turn 4 during the final restart to take the lead. He remained out front for the final 32 laps to capture the win, doing so by nearly four seconds over second-place finisher Dale Earnhardt Jr. Busch earned his third victory at Texas Motor Speedway and the 44th of his Cup Series career in April 2018 after leading four different times for a race-high 116 laps. His most recent Texas Motor Speedway win was in October 2020, when Busch led five times for 90 of the 334 laps to claim his fourth victory at the track.

Top of the Box… RCR announced a leadership adjustment within its Cup Series program this week, reinforcing the organization’s continued focus on improving on-track performance and delivering stronger, more consistent results. Andy Street will assume crew chief responsibilities for the No. 8 Chevrolet, working alongside Busch for the remainder of the 2026 season. Jim Pohlman will transition into a leadership role within RCR’s competition department.

Street and Busch previously worked together during the final five races of 2025, highlighted by an eighth-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and a fifth-place result at Phoenix Raceway in the season finale.

Last Week… After qualifying was rained out, Busch began last Sunday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway from the 34th position. During Stage 1, the 63-time Cup Series winner moved his way to the front of the field and ran up-front for the majority of the first stage. Early in Stage 2, the Las Vegas native was one of 26 cars involved in the “Big One.” Despite getting caught up in the wreckage, the No. 8 team was able to repair the damage to the front end, battling back from a lap down to be out front in the final laps of the race. After avoiding a last lap crash, Busch finished 10th, the team’s first top-10 of the season.

Double Duty… In addition to his driving duties in Sunday’s Cup Series race, Busch will pilot the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports in Friday’s Truck Series race.

Meet Busch… On Saturday, May 2 at 3 p.m. Local Time, Busch is scheduled to sign autographs at the RCR Merchandise Hauler located in the Fan Zone at Texas Motor Speedway. Stop by to meet the driver of the No. 8 Chevrolet and purchase new gear before the green flag waves on Sunday.

KYLE BUSCH QUOTES:

How do you balance each corner being so different at Texas Motor Speedway?

“Texas Motor Speedway is a tough place. Turns 1 and 2 being really wide, and kind of flat, and then Turns 3 and 4 being a little bit narrower, but also being really, really fast with a lot of banking. You’ve got to setup for Turns 1 and 2 and you’ve got to setup for the end of the racetrack where you’re off the throttle the most, and then just take what you can get at the other end. It’s a little bit of a compromise at that place, but it’s fun to race there. You’ve got to really work on your runs through Turns 3 and 4 and down the front straightway to make those moves getting into Turn 1.”

Turns 1 and 2 are very different from Turns 3 and 4. How do you approach that racetrack from a setup perspective with two very different turns?

“At Texas Motor Speedway you have to sort of focus on Turns 1 and 2 because that’s the end of the racetrack where you’re out of the throttle, and you want to be out of the throttle the least amount possible, and then you just take whatever the car gives you in Turns 3 and 4. That’s how we focused our setups the last couple of years. Last year I felt like we were really good. We had a great car. We made some air pressure adjustments to it during the race, we got faster and we were up towards the front. I thought I had a shot to go race for the win, and I was like ‘this is my moment, Larson is slow, he’s vulnerable, I better go get him.’ I tried too hard in the middle of Turns 3 and 4, hit the bump and spun myself out. So, it’s hard to get it all right there all day long.”

What’s the toughest part about driving at Texas Motor Speedway?

“The last couple of years, the bump in Turns 3 and 4 have certainly been the tricky part for us. We had some really good speed there last year. We were running in third place chasing down the leaders, trying to make some moves to win the race. I pushed pretty hard after a restart and the car bottomed out, spun out on me and we ended up backed in the fence. That’s the unfortunate part about Texas Motor Speedway, just how on edge you are and how tricky it is to just make sure you keep the grip in your racecar. Some of those bumps have gotten worse over time, which is fine. It’s character. It’s good to have some of that. You just got to be able to know how to attack, when to attack and how hard to attack. I misjudged that last year and put ourselves in a bad spot of spinning out. That’s something we’ll focus on this time around.”

What’s the vibe when you come down to Texas for a race?

“The party scene at Texas is like no other. It always has great camping, great nightlife—you can always hear everybody playing their music and having a good time, enjoying the camaraderie of the area and what that brings. We’ve been fortunate enough the last few years to have good weather. I’m hoping for that again.”

Jesse Love and the No. 2 Samsara Chevrolet at Texas Motor Speedway… Jesse Love has made two career NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series starts at Texas Motor Speedway. In both starts, Love has started and finished inside the top-10 (ninth in 2024 and seventh in 2025).

Cup Experience at Texas… Last season, Love piloted the No. for 62 Beard Motorsports at Texas Motor Speedway, marking his second of five Cup Series starts in 2025. The Menlo Park, California native qualified 35th and gained valuable experience during the 400-mile event, ending with a 31st-place finish.

Last Week… Starting from the pole during last Saturday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway, Love was a consistent force out front, leading a race-high 37 laps. The young gun was in contention for the win during the closing moments of the race, leading the field before getting passed with three laps to go, ultimately finishing seventh.

Did You Know? Love’s pole last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway was the tenth of his career in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Love joins Kevin Harvick and Austin Dillon in an exclusive club of drivers who have earned 10 or more poles in the Series under the RCR banner.

Consistency Continues… Love’s average finish of 9.0 is fourth-best among full time drivers in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.

Still Streaking… Love currently holds the longest active streak of running at the finish of races, with 24 straight events without a DNF.

Get to the Points… Love remains third in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver championship point standings, 141 points behind points leader Justin Allgaier and 36 points behind second-place Sheldon Creed.

JESSE LOVE QUOTE:

What are your thoughts entering Texas Motor Speedway, a track where you’ve shown speed in the past?

“Texas Motor Speedway should be good. It’s a place that I’ve sat on the pole at two years ago. I’ve been really loose there before, and really tight, so I feel like we know kind of where our balance needs to be coming back this weekend, and I think we’re going to be pretty good. I’m looking forward to it. I’m ready to get our first win of the year.”

Austin Dillon and the No. 3 Boot Barn Chevrolet at Texas Motor Speedway… This weekend will mark Dillon’s first NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series start at Texas Motor Speedway since 2017. The veteran driver has made 11 starts at the track in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with a career-best finish of third in 2015 after starting from the pole position for the 300-mile race. In total, Dillon owns six top-five finishes at the track, an average finish position of 5.7, and has never finished worse than 10th.

Promoted from Within… Ryan Chism will serve as crew chief for the No. 3 Boot Barn Chevrolet this weekend. Chism, a 20-year motorsports veteran, brings a wealth of knowledge and a championship pedigree to the team, having secured four Cup Series wins as Dillon’s car chief, including a dominant run at Richmond Raceway over the last two years.

Returning to Familiar Territory… Although Dillon has spent most of the last 14 years in the Cup Series, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series remains familiar territory. The 2013 Series’ champion has made 156 career starts in the series, acquiring nine wins, 65 top-five finishes and 107 top-10 finishes.

AUSTIN DILLON QUOTES:

How are you feeling about running Saturday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race?

“I’m excited to get to Texas Motor Speedway and run the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series car on Saturday. It’s a welcome return to the Series, since I haven’t done it in a long time, and it should help us a little bit more on the Cup Series side as well to be able to see the track early on, prior to Sunday’s race.”

When you go to Texas Motor Speedway, what are you focused on?

“You’ve got to go out there and really commit to Turns 3 and 4. It’s one of the fastest tracks we go to all year, and I think having confidence in Turns 3 and 4 is key, for sure.”

Austin Hill and the No. 21 DWC Chevrolet at Texas Motor Speedway… Austin Hill has made seven career NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series starts at Texas Motor Speedway, posting three top-five and five top-10 efforts (best finish of second in fall 2022). In last year’s event at the 1.5-mile oval, Hill started the race on the pole, led 57 laps, won Stage 2 and came home in fourth place. The Winston, Georgia native also has 10 NASCAR Truck Series races on his resume at the Fort Worth, Texas track, earning three top-five and four top-10 finishes (best result of second in 2020).

Top-10 Streaking in Fort Worth… In Hill’s last five O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races at Texas Motor Speedway, the veteran racer has secured five top-10 results and never finished worse than seventh-place.

Get to the Points… Following last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, Hill sits eighth in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver championship standings. The 15-time Series winner is 223 points behind leader Justin Allgaier and only 10 points behind seventh-place Carson Kvapil.

AUSTIN HILL QUOTE:

With Texas Motor Speedway having two different ends of the track, describe the racing action and what a driver needs out of the car to compete for the win.

“Texas Motor Speedway is a very unique racetrack. It’s a different mile and a half than most of the intermediate tracks we go to. Turns 1 and 2 are really flat and wide, which leads to a lot of space where errors can be made, especially when you are inside of another car. If someone gets tight on your door, it’s a very easy spot for you to loop it around and back into the fence. Then on the other end of the track in Turns 3 and 4, you give it all you have. If you can hold it wide open in Turns 3 and 4, you probably have a fast race car. You need a car that handles well in Turns 1 and 2 and then hang it out as much as you can in Turns 3 and 4. Personally I have always enjoyed racing at Texas, and I feel like it’s a place that our DWC team can be successful at.”

ELITE MOTORSPORTS NHRA SOUTHERN NATIONALS PREVIEW

ADEL, Ga. (April 30, 2026) – Elite Motorsports heads to a new stop on the Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series schedule this weekend. The 41st running of the NHRA Southern Nationals marks NHRA’s historic first visit to South Georgia Motorsports Park and the first of the four new facilities added to the 2026 NHRA season.

Driving one of the JEGS hot rods, Jeg Coughlin Jr. has some experience at the facility that sits just outside of Valdosta, Georgia.

“Being back in Georgia for the Southern Nationals is very exciting. SGMP was an amazing facility my last time there in 2011 and I have enjoyed reading and watching the improvements over the past year or so,” said Jeg Jr. who was named one of NHRA’s top 75 drivers. “We have a great fan base, and this event will surely not disappoint.”

Jeg Jr. has had previous success in Georgia winning the Southern Nationals, previously contested at Atlanta Dragway, in 2000, 2010 and 2014. Currently sitting ninth in points after a No. 11 qualifying position and first quad exit at the 4-Wide Nationals just four days ago, Jeg Jr. will be hoping to tally another win at the 41st Southern Nationals.

“Coming off some mechanical issues from Charlotte, the JEGS boys were happy about this quick turnaround. This back-to-back event couldn’t get here quick enough,” said Jeg Jr. who is competing for his 70th Pro Stock victory. “We look to unload and make some great runs to start things off right in qualifying.”

Pro Stock rising star Aaron Stanfield also has some experience making passes down South Georgia Motorsports Park and is looking forward to seeing how the facility has prepared for its first NHRA national event.

“I’ve tested a few times at South Georgia Motorsports Park, and it was a great facility even a handful years ago. So, I’m really looking forward to seeing all the new upgrades,” said Stanfield who drives the Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage / Melling Performance / Janac Brothers Racing machine. “Adding this track to the schedule is exciting, especially bringing NHRA racing to new fans who may not have had the chance to attend before. Expanding to new locations like this is great for the sport of drag racing and can only help grow the fan base.”

Stanfield is currently eighth in the points standings coming off a second quad exit and quarterfinal points at the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals in North Carolina last weekend. He’s competing for his first win at the Southern Nationals and first of the season.

Joining Jeg Jr. and Stanfield under the Elite Motorsports umbrella this weekend are six-time world champion Erica Enders, Pro Stock veteran Greg Stanfield, Troy Coughlin Jr. driving the second JEGS Pro Stock car, motorsports icon Tony Stewart in the R+L Carries Top Fuel dragster as well as Mason Wright in Pro Mod.

Competition at the NHRA Southern Nationals at South Georgia Motorsports Park is scheduled to begin with four rounds of qualifying Friday at 2 and 4:30 p.m. and Saturday at 12:30 and 3 p.m. The threat of weather may change those times. Eliminations are scheduled for Sunday at 11 a.m. Television coverage of the event will be on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) beginning with qualifying shows Saturday at 9:30 p.m. ET and Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Eliminations will air on FS1 Sunday at 7 p.m. ET.

RCA Partners with McDowell, Spire Motorsports for NASCAR All-Star Race, Bristol, Talladega

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 30, 2026) – RCA, the quintessential American consumer electronics brand, will return to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2026 by partnering with Michael McDowell and Spire Motorsports for three races beginning at Dover Motor Speedway when the famed one-mile oval hosts NASCAR’s All-Star Race for the first time in the venue’s storied, 50-plus year history.

RCA has its own celebrated, winning history in the NASCAR Cup Series and previously sponsored Cale Yarborough Motorsports. Drivers Jeremy Mayfield and John Andretti both spent time in an RCA-sponsored entry throughout the mid-90’s, with Andretti taking the company to Victory Lane in the 1997 Pepsi 400 after fighting off Terry Labonte and Dale Earnhardt to collect the checkered flag.

The iconic consumer electronics brand will join the defending All-Star Pit Crew Challenge Champions, who look to collect back-to-back $100,000 checks to go along with pit-road bragging rights during NASCAR’s annual all-star festivities. In addition to its position aboard McDowell’s No. 71 Chevy Camaro, RCA will be showcased throughout the Spire Motorsports garage, including branded headsets across the team’s No. 71 effort.

Following the May 15-17 all-star weekend, RCA will return to McDowell’s No. 71 Chevy Sept. 19 at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway and Oct. 5 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

“We are incredibly excited to return RCA to the world of motorsports, a space that aligns so naturally with our legacy of performance and innovation,” said Tony Bozzini, President of RCA. “Spire Motorsports is the ideal partner for this next chapter, bringing a forward-thinking approach and competitive spirit that mirrors our own. Together, we see an opportunity to reconnect with passionate fans while elevating the RCA brand on a national stage. This partnership marks the beginning of an exciting journey, and we look forward to building something truly impactful with the Spire team.”

Founded in 1919, RCA has a rich history using the power of technology to bring people together while symbolizing American ingenuity worldwide. Built on more than a century of engineering innovation, RCA is the standard-bearer in performance, precision and trustworthiness, affording Spire Motorsports a wealth of resources as the team continues to raise its competitive bar on a weekly basis.

Ten races into the 2026 campaign, McDowell sits just outside the top 20 in points on the strength of one top-five and two top-10 finishes, including a season-best fifth-place finish in the Cup Series’ March 1 visit to Circuit of the Americas.

“Our Spire Motorsports team has been working so hard these last few months to bring in new partners, and RCA is a great fit,” said McDowell. “Our sport relies on communication, and the RCA brand has a deep history of keeping people connected. I am excited to wear the RCA colors and represent the brand and its values on and off the track. I’m especially looking forward to Talladega (Superspeedway) later this fall. We started on the pole last October and led a lot of laps. We expect to bring that same speed this year with the RCA colors on our No. 71 Chevrolet.”

The NASCAR All-Star Race from Dover Motor Speedway will be televised live on FS1 Sunday, May 17, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The $1 million-to-win, all-star spectacular will be broadcast live on Motor Racing Network, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90 and HBO Max.

Dystany Spurlock To Make NASCAR Truck Series Debut in Historic Doubleheader at Watkins Glen

Spurlock, who also plans to compete in ARCA earlier in the day, will become the first Black woman to race in one of NASCAR’s three national touring divisions.

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — Dystany Spurlock will take another historic step in her groundbreaking 2026 season when she becomes the first Black woman to compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on May 8 at Watkins Glen International. Spurlock is set to take the green flag in the Bully Hill Vineyards 176 at The Glen, piloting the No. 69 Foxxtecca Toyota for MBM Motorsports and Garage 66.

Her upcoming debut marks a major milestone in Spurlock’s budding career, as well as for American motorsports. Since its inaugural season in 1995, NASCAR’s Truck Series—one of the sanctioning body’s three national touring divisions alongside the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and Cup Series—has never featured a Black female driver. Spurlock’s breakthrough represents continued progress in expanding representation at stock car racing’s highest levels.

No. 69 Foxxtecca Toyota

“I’m excited for Watkins Glen,” Spurlock said. “It’s been a while since I’ve raced on a road course, so I’m looking forward to getting back out there. Having the opportunity to compete in ARCA and make my debut in the Truck Series is going to be a lot of fun. I’m focused on learning as much as I can in both the car and the truck, and hopefully we can keep this top-10 momentum going!”

Last month, Spurlock made headlines at Kansas Speedway by becoming the first Black woman to compete in the national ARCA Menards Series. She surpassed expectations with a thrilling 10th-place finish, even after being bumped in the closing laps. The controversial rear-bumper strike sent her car sideways, but she quickly recovered, drawing widespread praise for her control and composure and earning her the Reese’s Sweet Move of the Race.

As part of her weekend at The Glen, Spurlock will take on the added challenge of a doubleheader. She’s scheduled to make her second national ARCA Menards Series start in the General Tire 100, where she’ll drive the No. 66 Foxxtecca Ford for MBM.

Balancing two events in a single day at one of North America’s most demanding road courses will test Spurlock and her team’s versatility and stamina. The 2.45-mile circuit at the southern tip of Seneca Lake is known for its high-speed straightaways and technical corners, including the Esses, the sweeping Carousel in Turn 5, and the signature Bus Stop chicane, where races are often won or lost—or ended at the wall.

While Spurlock, 34, has quickly become a can’t-miss talent in stock cars, her path to this moment has been two decades in the making. She began in motorcycle drag racing, where the Richmond, Virginia, native soon established herself as a standout in the 4.60 index class, setting records and taking home class victories. In 2024, she made history as the first woman to win the DME Racing Real Street class in the XDA Motorcycle Drag Racing Series with a 7.32 ET run at 178 mph.

A year later, she debuted in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle, becoming just the second Black woman to compete in the category. She plans to follow that up by racing in two of the NHRA’s premier events later this season: the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, IN, on Sept. 4–7, and the Texas NHRA FallNationals in Dallas, TX, on Oct. 16–18, both with Arana Racing.

Her 2026 season is also being documented in the Foxxtecca-produced docuseries Driven by Dystany: The Road to NASCAR, which is helping build a growing and passionate fanbase. Based in Detroit, MI, and co-founded by Chris Harris and Kellie Crawford, Foxxtecca is an experiential media and events company operating at the intersection of mobility, culture, and technology. It connects the automotive industry with new and diverse audiences through storytelling, education, and live experiences.

“Dystany’s docuseries takes viewers inside a journey most people never see—the real path to becoming a NASCAR driver, told through her lived experience of a Black woman in this space,” Harris said. “It’s not just about building her audience or authentically highlighting diversity, it’s about expanding the audience for motorsports while directly challenging and exposing the assumptions that have kept too many people on the outside looking in.”

The ARCA Menards Series General Tire 100 at The Glen is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. PT on Friday, May 8. It will air on FS2 and stream via the FOX Sports app. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Bully Hill Vineyards 176 at The Glen will follow at 4:30 p.m. ET / 1:30 p.m. PT, with coverage on FOX Sports 1 and streaming on the FOX Sports app and FuboTV.

ABOUT FOXXTECCA

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X To Pace 110th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge

INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, April 30, 2026) – The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X – a true American hypercar and America’s quickest production car– will lead the field to the green flag for the 110th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on Sunday, May 24 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The Corvette ZR1X Pace Car invites race fans to celebrate America’s semi-quincentennial anniversary with purpose-driven patriotism and American craftsmanship forged into this year’s bold livery.

Indiana University Head Football Coach Curt Cignetti, in celebration of IU Football’s undefeated National Championship season, has been named honorary Pace Car driver and will pace the field of 33 drivers in the Corvette ZR1X to start “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

“America’s hypercar will be front and center at the Indianapolis 500, and it has the speed to stay there,” Global Corvette and Performance Cars Team Executive Chief Engineer Tony Roma said. “The ZR1X is made for the racetrack. This Corvette, inspired by America’s 250th anniversary, will absolutely give Coach Cignetti and the fans a thrill.”

The Corvette ZR1X delivers 1,250 horsepower across all four wheels, combining a 186-hp electric motor on the front axle with a 5.5L twin-turbo V8 putting 1,064 hp to the rear wheels. For Pace Car duty, the ZR1X is equipped with the Carbon Aero package, including dive planes on the front bumper, underbody aero strakes and the rear wing, which creates more than 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed.

The Corvette ZR1X achieves incredible acceleration – capable of zero to 60 mph in under 2 seconds – and can reach 233 mph, approaching speeds seen by race cars in the field.

“As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, this Pace Car design reflects both where we’ve been and where we’re headed,” Chevrolet Global Executive Design Director Phil Zak said. “Every element – from the badging to the colors – were deliberately crafted to honor this milestone while expressing a forward‑looking vision of Chevrolet design.”

Designed in tandem with the Stars and Steel Collection, the Pace Car features the stars‑and‑stripes decals running across the car. This exclusive ZR1X was custom painted, appearing Arctic White from the driver side and Admiral Blue from the opposite profile. Every detail was considered, including the painted striping running down the ZR1X’s carbon fiber spine on the rear hatch.

Inside, Santorini Blue seats are paired with red accent seat belts and red stitched floor mats for a cohesive, performance‑driven interior.

“Having America’s sports car, the Corvette, pacing the field feels especially fitting this year as we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary,” INDYCAR and IMS President J. Douglas Boles said. “With race car-like performance, the Corvette ZR1X is the perfect choice to pace the field of 33 in the Indianapolis 500.”

Corvette is the longest-running car nameplate in automotive industry history, so it’s no surprise Corvette has paced “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” more times than any car. The 2026 race marks the 37th time for Chevrolet to pace dating back to 1948 and the 23rd time overall, all since 1978, for America’s favorite sports car.

Visit IMS.com for tickets and more information on all Month of May events and activities at IMS.

Notes of Interest:

● Year Three, Driven Forward: In November 2025, Ryan Ellis was announced as Young’s Motorsports’ full-time driver in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series as the organization enters its third season of competition.

In a significant step for 2026, Young’s Motorsports will transition its flagship No. 02 — long synonymous with the organization’s success in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series — to the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series full-time, underscoring the team’s continued growth at the national level.

Ellis will pilot the No. 02 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro across the full 33-race schedule, continuing with Saturday afternoon’s Andy’s Frozen Custard 340 at Texas Motor Speedway and culminating with the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Championship Race at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway in November.

● About Ryan: A respected veteran in the NASCAR garage, Ellis joins Young’s Motorsports with more than a decade of experience across NASCAR’s national ranks, including competition in the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.

The 2026 season will mark Ellis’ fourth full-time campaign in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.

The 35-year-old Virginia native is coming off his first career NASCAR top-10 finish in 2025 and looks to build on that momentum while continuing to expand his résumé, which includes 175 career starts in series competition.

Known for his consistency, professionalism, and versatility both behind the wheel and in the garage, Ellis aims to apply his experience to elevate Young’s Motorsports’ competitive presence in its third season of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series competition.

● All-Aboard!: For the 12th of 33 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races this season, Young’s Motorsports welcomes Eclipse Claims Consulting as the primary partner on the No. 02 Chevrolet Camaro for Saturday’s 200-lap event.

The company has built its reputation as a go-to advocate for policyholders facing complex insurance claims.

Whether assisting homeowners after a hurricane or guiding a business through fire damage recovery, Eclipse Claims Consulting remains a trusted partner at every step of the insurance claim process.

● Ryan Ellis O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Texas Motor Speedway Stats: Saturday afternoon’s battle in the Lone Star State marks Ellis’s ninth NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series start at Texas Motor Speedway, a 1.5-mile oval that continues to challenge even the most seasoned drivers.

In his previous outings at the Fort Worth, Texas-based track, Ellis delivered a track-best finish of 13th after starting 30th in the fall 2023 edition of the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 while driving for Alpha Prime Racing. Overall, he holds an average finish of 28.8 at the speedway.

The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series returns to action Saturday, May 2, for the next race of the 2026 season at Texas Motor Speedway.

The event is part of a busy tripleheader weekend at the intermediate oval, beginning Friday night with the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 250, followed by the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series on Saturday afternoon, and culminating Sunday, May 3, with the NASCAR Cup Series Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY.

Known for its high speeds and challenging racing surface, Texas Motor Speedway presents a different kind of test compared to superspeedway competition.

With multiple grooves and evolving track conditions, drivers must balance raw speed with tire management and long-run handling to stay competitive throughout a run.

Restarts often play a critical role, with aggressive moves and track position proving vital as drivers jockey for clean air and momentum.

The combination of fast corners and heavy braking zones creates opportunities for side-by-side racing, while also punishing mistakes over the course of a long green-flag run.

Ryan Ellis and Young’s Motorsports look to capitalize at Texas as the No. 02 team continues its push through the 2026 campaign.

With one of NASCAR’s premier intermediate tracks on deck, the weekend provides another opportunity for Ellis to strengthen his position in the championship standings and showcase the organization’s continued growth at the national level.

● Ryan Ellis NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Career Stats: Entering Texas, Ellis has 175 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races to his credit, earning a career-best sixth-place finish after starting 32nd in the 2026 edition of the United Rentals 300 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway for Young’s Motorsports.

Since his 2012 debut, Ellis has averaged a 26.6 finish in series competition, including the past three seasons running full-time.

● Talladega Superspeedway | Ag-Pro 300 Race Recap: The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series made its traditional spring stop in the heart of Dixie for last Saturday afternoon’s running of the Ag-Pro 300 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

The second superspeedway race of the season presented an opportunity for Ellis and the team to build on their season-best sixth-place finish at the 2.66-mile track.

Unfortunately, the team was plagued by electrical issues throughout the 113-lap race, leaving Ellis and the No. 02 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet team with a frustrating 36th-place finish after starting a strong 21st following a solid one-lap qualifying effort in his No. 02 Zeroes Chevrolet.

Now, the team shifts its focus to Texas Motor Speedway for the next intermediate track battle of the season, where the fast 1.5-mile layout presents a vastly different challenge from superspeedway competition.

With its wide racing surface, multiple grooves and ever-changing track conditions, Texas demands a balance of speed, tire management and long-run handling.

Clean air and track position are critical, especially on restarts where drivers aggressively fight for every inch entering Turns 1 and 2.

The track’s unique character — featuring high speeds into the corners and heavy braking zones — creates opportunities for side-by-side racing but also leaves little room for error over the course of a run.

For Ellis and the Young’s Motorsports team, the weekend offers a chance to translate lessons learned from the early part of the season into a strong performance and continue building momentum in the 2026 campaign.

● Calling the Shots: Guiding Ellis as crew chief of the No. 02 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro is longtime crew chief, engineer and industry veteran Eddie Troconis.

On Saturday, he will be the crew chief in his 33rd NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race. In his previous 32 races, he has two top-10 finishes, most recently in the 2026 season-opener at Daytona International Speedway.

The season’s 12th race will serve as his first event atop the pit box at Texas Motor Speedway in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, although he has 12 starts in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series at Texas, which have produced a track-best of second with driver Ben Rhodes in 2018.

● Young’s Motorsports’ NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Overview at Texas Motor Speedway: This weekend’s Andy’s Frozen Custard 340 will mark Young’s Motorsports’ third and fourth appearances at Texas Motor Speedway in NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series competition.

In the team’s two previous efforts at the 1.5-mile speedway, series veteran Anthony Alfredo delivered the organization’s strongest performance. After qualifying 10th, Alfredo maintained a presence inside the top-10 throughout the event before securing a competitive 12th-place finish on the lead lap.

Beyond its growing résumé in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, the Mooresville, N.C.-based organization brings a wealth of experience to Texas through its NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series program.

Since 2013, Young’s Motorsports has made 38 Truck Series starts at Texas, earning one top-five and three top-10 finishes, including a track-best fifth-place result with series’ race winner Austin Hill in the 2018 edition of the JAG Metals 350.

Across those appearances, the team owns an average starting position of 23.3 and an average finishing position of 20.7.

● Young’s Motorsports’ NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series History: Since entering the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2024, the family-owned organization has logged 88 starts and earned one top-five and four top-10 finishes while maintaining an average starting position of 27.0 and an average finish of 24.7.

Ryan Ellis Quoteboard:

On Texas Motor Speedway: “Texas is one of those places where you really have to stay ahead of the track because it changes so much from the start of a run to the end.

“You’ve got a lot of speed, but handling and tire management really come into play over a long run. Track position is huge too, especially with how important clean air is, so you have to be aggressive but smart on restarts.

“If we can keep ourselves in position, execute and be there late, I think we’ve got a solid shot at putting together a strong day for our No. 02 Young’s Motorsports team.”

On Keys to Success at Texas Motor Speedway: “Staying ahead of the track is probably the biggest thing for us at Texas. It changes so much from the start of a run to the end, so having good balance and managing your tires is really important.

“Track position means a lot too, especially with how important clean air is, so you have to be aggressive but smart on restarts. If we can execute, keep ourselves in position and be there late in the race, I think we’ll have a solid shot at a strong finish with our No. 02 Young’s Motorsports team.”

On Having Experience Running All Three National Series at Texas Motor Speedway: “Having experience in all three national series at Texas definitely helps. Every time you’re on the track, you learn something different — how the grip changes, how the lines move around and what you need out of the car over a long run.

“Being able to carry that knowledge from one series to the next gives you a better feel for what to expect and how to adjust. It’s still a tough place to get right, but having those laps and that experience in your back pocket is a big advantage for our No. 02 Young’s Motorsports team.”

On Continued Partnership with Eclipse Claims Consulting: “It’s really special to continue building our relationship with Eclipse Claims Consulting and to bring them over to Young’s Motorsports.

“They’ve been a great partner of mine, so being able to grow that relationship within this program means a lot.

“We’re all working hard to represent them the right way on and off the track, and hopefully we can deliver a strong performance in the No. 02 Chevrolet that they can be proud of.”

On 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Goals: “Our goal for 2026 and beyond is to keep building, improving and creating something sustainable with Young’s Motorsports that we can be proud of long term.

“We know the start of the season hasn’t gone exactly how we wanted, but at the same time, I feel like we’ve made a lot of progress. There’s been a ton of effort behind the scenes, and we’ve had more speed in the car than the results have shown.

“I think we’re starting to put those pieces together now. The communication is getting stronger, the execution is getting better, and that’s what it takes to start turning potential into results.

“If we stay focused, clean up the small details and keep putting ourselves in position, the finishes will come. It’s all about continuing to move forward, building consistency and putting complete races together.”

● Brad Perez O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Texas Motor Speedway Stats: Saturday afternoon’s battle in the Lone Star State marks Perez’s debut in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at Texas Motor Speedway, a 1.5-mile oval that continues to challenge even the most seasoned drivers.

The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series returns to action Saturday, May 2, for the next race of the 2026 season at Texas Motor Speedway.
