American Ethanol 200 Pre-Race Adds to Fan Experience

Driver introductions to feature unique entrance, airshow

NEWTON, Iowa – July 5, 2012 – For the first time ever in Iowa Speedway’s history, drivers will not be walking across the stage as they are introduced during pre-race ceremonies for the American Ethanol 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race on Saturday, July 14. Instead, all drivers will be making in a very special event entrance.

“The pace lap in the Chevy Silverado pickup truck is the only main thing that won’t change for this pre-race, making it one that all fans will remember,” said Doug Fritz, CEO of Iowa Speedway.

Also for the first time ever, there will be a ‘mini airshow’ during the pre-race festivities for the fans in attendance. The Vanguard Squadron, from Sioux Falls, SD, and whose planes fly on 100% ethanol fuel, will scream across the sky for several minutes as they dazzle the fans in the stands with a show powered by American Ethanol.

According to Fritz, this pre-race will be one of the highlights of the 2012 fan experience.

“Driver introductions are always a fun time as the fans and drivers start to get pumped up for the race,” Fritz noted. “Add an airshow overhead and a special driver entrance, paired with the NASCAR Trucks’ first appearance at Iowa Speedway for 2012, and you have a recipe for one great night!”

Tickets for the Prairie Meadows 200 ARCA Series race on Friday, July 13 and the American Ethanol 200 on Saturday, July 14 start at just $20 each day, and are available online at www.iowaspeedway.com, or by calling 1-866-RUSTY-GO (787-8946).
