MIS ADDS CHAT FEATURE TO ONLINE TICKETING

Fans can also enjoy security, convenience of PayPal to purchase race tickets

BROOKLYN, Mich. (March 15, 2011) – The guest experience at Michigan International Speedway begins when the race fan decides to buy race tickets. Period.

And as part of its ongoing effort to improve that overall experience for its guests, Michigan International Speedway officials have launched an interactive chat feature on its website. The chat feature, accessible from the main events calendar page or a specific event pages for the 2011 season, allows ticket purchasers to communicate directly with a sales agent during the online ticket-buying process.

“The ticket buying experience, especially for first-time visitors to our racetrack, should be a positive one. Everyone at MIS recognizes the importance of making it easy for all fans to attend races here,” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “We are always looking at ways to enhance the entire MIS and NASCAR experience for our guests – from doorstep to doorstep is our motto.”

The interactive live chat joins the MIS Fan-to-Fan Support Group as a mechanism for questions and answers. The Fan-to-Fan Support Group is a first-of-its-kind collection of race fans who guide, share suggestions and lead discussions with other race fans and launched earlier this month. The racetrack’s Fan Advisory Board, a 20-member cross-section of MIS ticketholders, serves as the Fan-to-Fan authority.

Race fans who log onto http://www.MISpeedway.com‘s> www.MISpeedway.com‘s PREPARE YOUR VISIT tab are encouraged to click the ASK AN MIS FAN link to submit a question via e-mail. A drop-down box allows the fan to select the topic of their question. Subject matter experts are available for questions about everything racetrack-related including traffic, camping, hospitality, pit passes, seating, ticket, gates and facility questions.

“Today’s fans want more than just a ticket to a NASCAR race. They want to feel they’re valued at the racetrack all season long – not just at race time or ticket renewal time. Guest services is a year-round initiative at MIS and chats and opportunities for race fans to share their experiences and offer guidance to new fans is part of what makes guests feel special and valued,” MIS Director of Ticketing Linda Wyne said.

PayPal has also been introduced, giving fans an additional payment option for their online purchases.

“We’re always looking for new and easier ways for our race fans to purchase tickets for our events. Adding PayPal as a payment option for online purchases is just another way to make the process easier on our guests, especially those who use that service for many of their other transactions,” Curtis added.

Tickets are available by phone at 800-354-1010 or by simply ordering at MISpeedway.com. Print at home tickets are also available on the speedway’s website.

Nestled in the lush Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is the Great Escape, a venerable NASCAR national park where fans can get away and enjoy the very best in racing and camaraderie.
