Martinsville a Virginia Home Coming for Mattioli & CollegeComplete.com

Bronx, NY, March 30th, 2011………Chase Mattioli is no stranger to racing in Virginia, with his 1st Virginia racing experience at South Boston Speedway, racing his ¼ midget at the ripe old age of 9. Twelve years later, the 21-year-old young gun will return, competing in his No.10 CollegeComplete.com Ford in the Kroger 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race this Saturday at Martinsville Speedway.

“Racing at South Boston was an incredible experience for me,” Mattioli commented. Up until then, I had only raced at the ¼ midget track at Pocono Raceway. All of the other kids and I were excited, especially when we got to meet Tony Stewart. He was at South Boston doing an appearance and came over and talked to each one of us. He was so friendly and made each of us kids feel special. Best of all, I won the feature that night,” Mattioli concluded.

That was the 1st of many Virginia racing experiences for Mattioli, that went on to include being coached by Donnie Allison in a Legacy car, his 1st road course win in a Formula Ford at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) at 14, and a 3rd in class in a 13-hour endurance race at 19 years old.

“Coming to Virginia is like coming home. With the family involved in South Boston Speedway, I spent a lot of time in the area and have many great friends, including Cathy and Allen Rice at South Boston. Racing at Martinsville this Saturday will be very special, and I am hopeful the good luck I have had in Virginia will continue.”

Martinsville’s Kroger 250 is set for 2pm, Saturday, April 2nd, with TV coverage provided by Speed TV.
