JUAN PABLO MONTOYA, NO. 42 TARGET CHEVROLET, met with members of the media at Texas Motor Speedway and discussed racing at Texas Motor Speedway at night, Talladega and other topics. Full transcript:

TALK ABOUT RACING AT NIGHT AT TEXAS: “I think it is pretty cool. It is always exciting. Last year the race finished at night, I think it is nice we will have all the race at night. It is the first night of the year so it is pretty exciting.”

WHAT DO YOU AND BRIAN (PATTIE, CREW CHIEF) DO WHEN YOU COME THE FIRST NIGHT RACE AT A TRACK THAT THERE HASN’T BEEN ONE BEFORE? DO YOU DO ANYTHING DIFFERENT? “When you look at how bad we ran here last year, yes, we will probably do everything different. To be honest with you, we know what we need out of the car. We have a lot of notes from Vegas and it is a mile-and-a-half and we ran pretty good so we are going to make some changes based on that. We think we know what direction we need to go with the car. I am pretty excited. The car should work pretty good. Points, points points you know.”

KYLE BUSCH WAS IN HERE TALKING ABOUT KIMI (RAIKKONEN) AND THE TEST THEY RAN ON MONDAY AND SAID AFTER HE HAD BEEN ON THE TRACK FOR A WHILE, THEY WERE RUNNING IDENTICAL TIMES, DOES THAT SURPRISE YOU THAT HE IS UP TO SPEED THAT QUICKLY? “No, not really. He’s been driving rally cars and things and moving around a lot in unpredictable things like that. So, no, I am not surprised at all. I think Kimi has a lot of talent. It will be interesting to see when he gets to a big track, you have to be a little more patient. I think he will be fine. He is pretty good. They asked me before what were his chances, if anybody can do it, it will be him. I think he will be ok.”

YOU HAVE BEEN REALLY STRONG AT DAYTONA AND TALLADEGA, TELL US ABOUT YOUR CONFIDENCE HEADING BACK TO TALLADEGA NEXT WEEK AND HOW YOU THINK THE RACING MAY OR MAY NOT BE DIFFERENT THAN WE SAW IN DAYTONA 500: “You know it is a fact now for over a year now that two-car packs are faster than anything else. I think you have to do the same thing as always, just ride for a little bit and at the right time try to come to the front and hopefully stay out of wrecks. The big thing is when you get to like.early in the race, people get excited and then it gets calm. Then people are in the back and trying to get to the front when they feel they are at the time to start making brave, aggressive moves. Some of them don’t come out and when they don’t come out, they hit the fence and it causes a hell of a wreck. We have to make sure we are in the right place at the right time and go from there. I think we have a good chance of winning there. Talladega has always been really good for us so pretty excited.”

LAST WEEK YOU BROUGHT YOUR SON (SEBASTIAN) TO THE RACE, I WONDER WHAT IMPRESSED HIM THE MOST? “The new Play Station I think was the most exciting for him. To play with his Dad to tell you the truth. For him it is kind of normal, he goes to the pits, watches the races. Watches practice. It is nothing new. He was born around it. It is nothing exciting or different. He will watch some of the race in the pit box. He is pretty chilled about it.

The other side of it is I have a couple of shooting games and things in my play station. They are very aggressive games I would say. I remember I was sitting in the bus and started hearing pow, pow, pow and I’m like ‘Sebastian, come on.’ I actually had to get up and get him off the play station. I was like ‘You have to stop playing this, you know-it is not for you.’ He said ‘What do you mean? Why not?’ I said ‘We need to get a game for you. We did and we played together and it has been a lot of fun. He is a little young to be shooting things.”
