BROOKLYN, Mich. (April 27, 2011) – Its official! Michigan International Speedway and the Jackson County Convention and Visitors Bureau (JCCVB) are proud to announce that the Jackson County CVB will serve as the presenting sponsor for the Great Lakes Wine Fest.

The Great Lakes Wine Fest presented by the Jackson County CVB will take place on Saturday, May 21 from Noon – 9 p.m. in the MIS infield.   A mission of the Jackson County CVB is to promote the wonderful community and surrounding areas, offering a calendar full of family-friendly festivals and events in Jackson County. Sponsoring the Great Lakes Wine Fest is just another step in accomplishing that mission.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for our group and for our community,” Jackson County CVB Executive Director Mindy Bradish-Orta said. “This is a great event that does a lot to highlight the unique tastes that Michigan wines have to offer on both a local and state level. Like many other Jackson events, our organization wants to put its resources behind these local festivals to promote tourism in Jackson County and make the Great Lakes Wine Festival an annual stop for tourists every year.”

“We encourage local involvement with our Great Lakes Wine Fest. This presenting sponsorship with the Jackson County CVB is important because it continues to strengthen our relationship with local communities like Jackson. We both want this wine festival to be a successful annual event in the local community and having their presenting sponsorship and local promotion will help with that goal,” MIS President Roger Curtis said.

Curtis notes the Great Lakes Wine Fest presented by the Jackson County CVB, with a unique focus on Michigan-based wineries and breweries, is a natural fit for the state.
