Bill Smith Ford to pace Carolina 200

Rockingham, N.C. (May 2, 2011) – Once again a Bill Smith Ford will lead the fields to the green flag for the May 14, 2011 running of the Carolina 200 at Rockingham Speedway.

This marks the third time that Southern Pines, N.C.-based Bill Smith Ford Lincoln Mercury and Bill Smith Mazda have provided the official pace cars and safety trucks for an event at Rockingham Speedway.

“Bill Smith Ford and Mazda have provided us with some great Ford and Mazda vehicles,” said Rockingham Speedway President Andy Hillenburg, “and we are very excited to have them back for the Carolina 200. Last time out, that new Mustang looked amazing out front of the field.”

For over 30 years Bill Smith Ford Lincoln Mercury has been the premier Ford Lincoln and Mercury dealership in the Sandhills as well as serving the Fort Bragg, Raleigh, Fayetteville, Rockingham, Laurinburg, and Lumberton areas.

Racing action for the Carolina 200 at Rockingham Speedway gets underway on May 12 with a practice for the cars of the USAR Pro Cup and UARA Late Model Series. General admission to the grandstands is free. Friday, May 13 is pole day for USAR and UARA with fans admitted to the grandstands for $5. The Carolina 200 is Saturday, May 14 with the UARA Late Models rolling off at 12 noon followed by the USAR 150-miler at 1:30 p.m. Tickets, starting at $25 in advance, and suite packages are still available.
