Frank Kimmel Handles Left and Right Turns – Finishes 6th at New Jersey Motorsports Park

Millville, NJ – The No. 44 Ansell-Menards Ford, driven by Frank Kimmel, finished 6th in the ModSpace 150 from New Jersey Motorsports Park. It was time for Frank Kimmel and the rest of the regulars in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards to turn left and right, as they competed at the first road course of 2011. Frank Kimmel qualified the Ansell-Menards Ford in 7th and would start the 67 lap road course contest from the 5th position, after the Menards Pole award winner had to move to the rear of the field.

It was a solid race for Frank and the Ansell-Menards team; something they needed after the disappointment of Toledo. From the drop of the green flag, Frank quickly moved the Ansell-Menards Ford up to 4th but would surrender a few spots to the road course ringers before the first caution flew. However, Frank showed patience and would race around 8th for a majority of the contest.

“I made a miscue on our gas-and-go there at the end. I left before we got the tank full in the Ansell-Menards Ford. I was going to run out of gas, so it was good catching that last caution. To salvage a sixth out of this day with our Ansell-Menards Ford was pretty good, because it could have been a bad day for us if that mistake came back to bight me,” said Frank Kimmel after the race

The Kimmel Racing team worked feverishly throughout the race to get the Ansell-Menards Ford better in the turns. The hard work was obvious, as Frank and the Ansell-Menards Ford would not fall out of the top-10 the entire contest, eventually taking the checkered flag in 6th. The 6th place finish moved Frank back to 2nd in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Championship Points.

Watch for Frank Kimmel at Chicagoland Speedway driving the No. 44 Ansell-Menards Ford on June 4th for the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 150 in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.
