Bristol Motor Speedway – This will be Long’s first race at the famed .533-mile concrete oval in Bristol, Tenn. The young driver has made several short track starts this season and began her racing career at half-mile Five Flags Speedway.
Johanna Long on Bristol Motor Speedway – “Bristol is such a great track, with awesome fans and a really cool atmosphere, so I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of my No. 20 Panhandle Grading & Paving Toyota Tundra there on Wednesday! I’ve never been to Bristol, so I know that it is going to be another learning experience, but I’m really looking forward to it. I’m glad Johnny Benson will be back at the track to help me learn how best to get around.”
Last Race Recap – Long and her family-owned Panhandle Motorsports team had a successful showing in their last NCWTS race, at Lucas Oil Raceway on July 29. Long secured her second-best starting spot of the season as she qualified 13th. Long fought loose-handling conditions during the first half of the race but, with the right adjustments and a solid pit strategy, was able to come home with a strong 17th-place finish.
Marketing Opportunities – Long and her No. 20 Panhandle Motorsports team are currently seeking marketing opportunities for the 2011 NCWTS season. For more information on sponsorship opportunities, please contact Spire Sports + Entertainment or Panhandle Motorsports.
Race Week Appearances – Following her first start at Bristol Motor Speedway, Long will stay in town and attend the Food City Race Night event on Thursday, August 25. She will be signing autographs, with drivers from each of NASCAR’s top three series, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT on State Street in Bristol, Tenn.
