No. 31 BRANDT News and Notes

First Career Win at Bristol… Allgaier claimed his first career NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) victory on the high banks of Thunder Valley in the spring of 2010. Allgaier started 30th and led 27 laps to claim the win. Since coming to Turner Motorsports in 2011, he has earned his second career victory (Chicagoland Speedway) and captured six top-five and 12 top-10 finishes.

Allgaier Heads to Thunder Valley Fourth in Points… Allgaier moved into fourth-place in the NNS championship point standings after his eighth-place finish at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. He is 62 points behind leader Ricky Stenhouse Jr. All three championship-contending Turner Motorsports drivers are currently in the top-10, with Reed Sorenson in third and Jason Leffler in sixth-place.

Bristol Motor Speedway by the Numbers… The 25-year-old Turner Motorsports Chevy driver has five NNS starts at Bristol Motor Speedway. He is credited with one victory, two top-five and two top-10 finishes, with a best start of third coming earlier this spring.

This Week’s Impala… The No. 31 BRANDT Chevy team will hit the track with chassis TMS-129 nicknamed “Fireball” this Friday evening at BMS. This chassis last saw track action at Lucas Oil Raceway where Allgaier started fourth and was running second with under 10 laps remaining when his machine caught fire, forcing an early end to his evening.

In the Loop… Thus far in 2011, Allgaier ranks among the top-10 in several of NASCAR’s Loop Data statistics: Quality Passes (4th), Fastest on Restarts (6th), Laps in the Top-15 (7th), Average Running Position (7th), Percentage of Laps Run on the Lead Lap (8th), Fastest Early in the Run (9th), Fastest Speed in Traffic (9th), Green Flag Speed (10th) and Fastest Late in the Run (10th).

Turner Motorsports In the Hunt… In 24 Nationwide Series events in 2011, Turner Motorsports-prepared entries have notched three wins, 19 top-five and 47 top-10 finishes.

Justin Allgaier on Bristol Motor Speedway:

“Bristol is one of my favorite tracks on our circuit. Not only was it the site of my first win, but the track is so unique you have to remain focused for the entire race. Making just one mistake could end your night quickly. We are coming off a strong run in Montreal and we should continue it this Friday evening at Bristol.”
