NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 18 of 25 – Chicagoland Speedway

GOING FOR 50: Ron Hornaday and the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team head to Chicagoland Speedway for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event Friday night. Hot off their second win of the season at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Hornaday and the Anderson’s Maple Syrup team are looking to reach his 50th career win in the series. In two starts at the Joliet, Ill. track, the veteran driver has one top-five and one top-10 finish.

ANDERSON’S ON BOARD: The No. 33 Chevrolet team welcomes back Anderson’s Maple Syrup as primary sponsor this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. This will be the Northwoods Wisconsin-based company’s third event with Hornaday and the KHI team this season. This third generation, family-owned and operated business partnered with the team at Kansas Speedway on June 4 and Iowa Speedway on July 16. Anderson’s will return as primary sponsor of the No. 33 Chevrolet later this season at Talladega Superspeedway on October 22.

CHASSIS HISTORY: Ron Hornaday will be behind the No. 33 Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet racing chassis No. 45 this weekend at Chicagoland. This chassis was most recently used at Nashville Superspeedway on April 22 where the truck spent all but three laps in the top 15 bringing home a fourth-place finish. This chassis also has two top-five finishes, Michigan International Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway, and a 24th-place finish at Iowa Speedway during the 2010 season.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: The No. 33 Armour/Ingles Chevrolet Silverado was a damaged machine when four-time champion Hornaday pulled in to victory lane at Atlanta Motor Speedway on September 2. Hornaday received left-front fender damage at the start of the Truck Series race but worked his way through the field to bring home the team its second win of the season. The win is the driver’s 49th career victory in the series, edging him closer to 50 series’ wins. Hornaday gains four positions in the Driver’s Point standings to fifth, 48 points behind the leader James Buescher.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ron Hornaday

What are your expectations going into the race at Chicagoland?

“Chicago is one of those unique tracks. You can’t ride up alongside the wall like you usually do because you’ll end up in the wall. It curves back in about three quarters of the way down the straightaway. It’s a fun track to race at with a couple different grooves. You will see guys all over the track trying to find the fastest line. We are going to do our best to get back in victory lane and put on a good show for Anderson’s Maple Syrup.”

About Anderson’s Maple Syrup:

In 1928, Paul Anderson first shared the distinct taste of Wisconsin’s Northwoods in tins of his delicately sweet maple syrup. Three generations later, the Anderson family carries on its sugarmaking heritage by bottling pure maple syrup from the same sugarbush their grandfather tapped for so many years. A healthy all-natural delicacy, authentic maple syrup is a nutritious, low-calorie alternative to artificial sweeteners and maple-flavored syrups. From its roots in Cumberland, Wisconsin, Anderson’s Maple Syrup can today be found in supermarkets and specialty shops across the country, including Kroger stores.
