Roush Fenway Places All Four Fords in Top 8 at New Hampshire

Edwards, Kenseth Take Chase Hopes to ‘Monster Mile’ of Dover

LOUDON, N.H. (Sept. 25, 2011) – Roush Fenway Racing placed all four of its Ford Fusions in the top eight in a strong performance in Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Greg Biffle led the organization with a third-place finish; running virtually the entire race inside the top 10.

Matt Kenseth, David Ragan and Carl Edwards finished sixth, seventh and eighth respectively, to round out one of Roush Fenway’s most overall successful outings ever at NHMS.

“We ran there the whole day,” said Biffle. “We were never out of the top 10. We had a good car and the guys did a great job in the pits. I’m happy that we were able to finally finish a race where we were running. Thankfully nothing happened to the car and we finished third. We did have Ford 40MPG – that might of helped us a little bit.”

Fuel mileage once again played a major role in the race’s outcome, with all of the Roush Fenway fleet having enough fuel to bring home the strong finishes.

With the results, Carl Edwards is now fourth in the Sprint Cup standings; 14 points out of first. Matt Kenseth is now in a three-way tie for sixth with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kyle Busch with two of 10 ‘Chase’ races in the books. Biffle moved to 14th and Ragan is now 17th in the Sprint Cup point standings.

Roush Fenway next travels to one of its top tracks on the circuit, Dover International Speedway for the third of 10 ‘Chase’ races. Roush Fenway has won nine times and led over 3,700 miles in Sprint Cup action at the ‘Monster Mile.” The race is set for Oct. 2 and will be televised live on ESPN at 2:00 p.m. EDT.
