The Home Depot Team Notes of Interest

. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will compete at Dover International Speedway this weekend with just eight races remaining on the 2011 schedule. Joey Logano will be making his sixth Dover start behind the wheel of The Home Depot Toyota. After posting a third-place finish at the one-mile track last fall, an early-race spin and a late-race wheel issue left Logano and the team in the 27th position when the checkered flag waved in May. Logano has one top-five and two top-10 finishes at the Delaware track.

. Logano remains 21st in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver standings following his 14th-place finish last weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. He is still just six points away from getting back inside the top 20.

. Meet Logano! Logano will make an appearance on Friday, Sept. 30 at the Dover, Del. Home Depot store. Logano will be signing autographs for fans from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the store located right outside Dover International Speedway. The No. 20 Home Depot Toyota will be there in addition to the autograph signing by Logano. Wristbands will be distributed starting at 5 p.m. to the first 700 fans.

. About the last race: The Home Depot team battled handling issues and cosmetic damage on the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota on Sunday afternoon but teamwork, strategy and patience helped Logano pick up a 14th-place finish in the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

. Zipadelli and the No. 20 Home Depot Team are bringing chassis #319 this weekend for the race at The Monster Mile. Logano first ran this chassis at Pocono where he captured the pole and ran in the top 10 most of the day before a cut tire with 12 laps to go dropped him to 26th place. He most recently raced this car at Atlanta Motor Speedway in his 100th Sprint Cup Series start. The back-up car is #309 which Logano drove three times this season, scoring an 11th-place finish at Pocono Raceway in June and a 14th-place finish at Kentucky. Logano also raced the car at Richmond three weeks ago.

. The Home Depot Toyota will continue to honor The Celebration of Service, a partnership between The Home Depot Foundation and the Mission Continues to improve the homes and lives of veterans and their families, during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races until Nov. 11 (Veterans Day). The goal of Celebration of Service is to complete more than 200 projects during the two month time frame to “Serve Those Who Served Us All.” The rear quarter panel of the No. 20 car will carry a special Celebration of Service decal while the crew members will have patches on their uniforms and wear hats showcasing the unique partnership. Fans can show their support by purchasing a 3 Doors Down CD from http://www.homedepot.com www.homedepot.com with $1 of the sale going directly to the veterans’ housing initiatives or purchasing a specially-themed Home Depot gift card with 5 percent of the value placed on the card going to nonprofit organizations also serving the housing needs of veterans. Logano Quotes on Dover:

“Dover is a track that can eat you up and spit you out in a second. It’s still probably one of my favorite tracks on the circuit though. We’ve typically had really fast race cars, and our two bad finishes weren’t because we had slow cars. Obviously there was the barrel roll, but the last race I spun out and put us behind and we had a wheel issue at the end. I’ve actually run really well there in both series and could have won the Nationwide race there last time, but it ended in a big mess. I feel confident going back the guys will give me another fast race car; I have more confidence now in that than normal.”
