Kenseth on racing in the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona:

“The Budweiser Shootout can be helpful in preparing for the Daytona 500 and this Saturday’s race will be the first race with electronic fuel injection.  We’ll see how the car handles and figure out if there’s anything that we might have missed or can improve upon before the 500.  It really is a great test to get ready for the rest of Speedweeks, as well and our first race with the No. 17 Best Buy Ford for the season.”

Crew chief Jimmy Fennig on racing in the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona:

“We’ve got a few things that we’ll work on during practice as well as for the Shootout itself to get a better gauge on what might help us the following weekend in the Daytona 500.  The Shootout settings will be different since it’s a night race versus the (Daytona) 500 which starts in the afternoon, but we can still use the extra track time to learn as much as we can about our cars before the season kicks off next week.”

FAST FACTS:

•        Kenseth’s best finish at Daytona for the Shootout is third, which he accomplished in 2003 during his first Shootout race

•        Kenseth has achieved one top-five and three top-10 finishes in his five career Budweiser Shootout starts

•        Kenseth has completed 99.1 percent of the Shootout laps he has attempted (368 of 371 laps)

•        This weekend at Daytona, Kenseth will pilot the No. 17 Best Buy Ford Fusion
