NNS Post Race Quotes (April 27, 2012)
RICKY STENHOUSE JR., No. 6 Cargill Beef Ford Mustang (Finished 4th)
ANOTHER TOP FIVE FINISH FOR YOU TONIGHT. “Yeah, it was alright. We weren’t the best we have been here but we weren’t terrible. There were times in the race I felt we had the best car in parts of the run but couldn’t put the whole run together. Not a bad night. Our Cargill Beef Mustang was up and down. We swung on both sides of the fences and just never could really get it the way we wanted.”
GOING BACK TO LAST YEAR, YOU AND SADLER JUST CAN’T SEEM TO GET AWAY FROM EACH OTHER AND YOU HAD AN AGGRESSIVE MOVE THERE AT THE END FOR POSITION. “Yeah, it was nice when the 12 got to running with him and slowed them both up. I got to him and wanted that extra position from that 12. I kind of set him up and pinned him on the lap car. Every point counts so that definitely helps.”
MICHAEL ANNETT, No. 43 Pilot/Flying J Ford Mustang (Finished 8th)
“It was a really good night. We still need to qualify better. We keep making it harder on ourselves, or I do. Really we didn’t face any adversity. We moved forward all night, slow and steady in the beginning and then on one of those restarts our car took off and we moved into the top-10 and stayed there the rest of the race. The pit sequence kind of got messed around a little bit when the 33 came in early and we were planning on coming a lot later. We led a couple laps and came in. That might have been a tick too long to wait to try to make up the time. Still, it is another top 10 and another good points night for the 43 team.”
YOU’VE PUT TOGETHER A GOOD CONSISTENT START TO THE SEASON RUNNING TOP-10 AND TOP-15. HOW DOES THAT FEEL? “The cool thing is we are running top-10 and don’t have any DNF’s other than Daytona. Our worst finish is 13th and we can keep bringing cars home and making them better rather than fixing them. That is the cool part. If we can keep bringing these cars home in once piece and making them better then we will be consistently top-five and can forget about top-10’s.”
TIMMY HILL, No. 41 Poynt.com Ford Mustang (Finished 26th)
“Our night went pretty good. The 41 Poynt.com Ford was awesome on the short run. Unfortunately on the long run we kept getting tighter and tighter. We didn’t have enough cautions to turn that around for us. My guys and everyone did an awesome job to get this thing close to where it needed to be. I think with one more adjustment we would have been awesome. We will take that finish and go on to Talladega.”
RICKY STENHOUSE JR. PRESS CONFERENCE
TALK ABOUT YOUR NIGHT. YOU GOT ANOTHER GOOD POINTS FINISH OUT THERE COMING IN FOURTH. “It wasn’t as stellar as we wanted it to be or thought it would be. I thought we had a nice car in practice and was pretty happy with it. We just fought some things throughout the race. At some points in the run I thought we had a car that could run with the guys but overall it wasn’t where we needed it to be. We have some work to do but all in all it was a decent day. The last few runs we made up some ground and ended up in the top five. Not a bad day but you would always like a little better.”
