(MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA) May 1, 2012 – The second restrictor plate race of the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series season takes place this weekend at the Talladega Superspeedway. MacDonald Motorsports driver Jason Bowles has never started a race at Talladega before but is excited about the opportunity this Saturday. The American Majority team will be looking for a solid finish to rebound from a difficult race in Richmond.
Jason on Talladega…..“The restrictor plate races are fun for me and I think we will have a car that can run up front. All of the engineering help we have been getting from Toyota is starting to pay off and our team is looking better than ever. It’s going to be a hot weekend down there for sure with temps in the 90’s so the race is going to be a real test on my endurance.”
Jason’s thoughts on Richmond…..“We could just never get the car to turn the way we wanted it to through the center of the corner. We were really fast during the second run of the race and moved up into the top-20. I thought we finally had the car figured out but it just went right back to the way it was before. Richmond was just one of those races I’d like to forget about and hopefully a strong run in Talladega will help me do just that.”
Last season at Dega…..MacDonald Motorsports came to Talladega last year with two cars entered in the event. Blake Koch drove the No. 82 Dodge to a solid 16th place run while Donnie Neuenberger drove the No. 81 to a 20th place result.
Meet Jason at the track…..Jason will be signing autographs with the rest of the stars of the NASCAR Nationwide Series Friday at the race track. The autograph session will last one hour and will begin at 1:30pm.
Watch the race…..Fans can see the Aarons 312 from Talladega live on ABC. The race will go on the air Saturday at 3:00pm.
