[media-credit name=”martinsvillespeedway.com” align=”alignright” width=”300″][/media-credit]MARTINSVILLE, Va. (July 12, 2012) – Qualifying for the TUMS Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway will return to Friday this fall.

Time trials for the TUMS Fast Relief 500 will be held at 3:40 p.m. on Friday, October 26. The Sprint Cup cars will have a 90-minute practice session beginning at noon on October 26. There will be two Sprint Cup practice sessions on Saturday, October 27, the first at 9:30 a.m. and the final practice at 12 noon. For the past two Sprint Cup races at Martinsville, qualifying had been conducted on Saturday.

“We’re pleased to be going back to qualifying on Friday,” said Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell. “It’s obvious the fans preferred the traditional three day weekend with practice and qualifying on Friday so they should be excited about it as well.”

Carl Edwards was the pole-sitter for last fall’s TUMS Fast Relief 500 while Tony Stewart fought back down the stretch to capture the race on the way to winning The Chase for the Sprint Cup.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will continue with its traditional Saturday morning qualifying, scheduled for 10:35 a.m. on Saturday October 27. The trucks will have two practice sessions on Friday, one at 11 a.m. and the final at 2:10 p.m.

The Kroger 200 will take the green flag at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 27 while the TUMS Fast Relief 500 is set for the green at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 28.

Tickets for both the TUMS Fast Relief 500 and the Kroger 200 are on sale and may be purchased by calling 877.RACE.TIX or by visiting www.martinsvillespeedway.com online.
