The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) will make a stop at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend. Dave Blaney will pilot the Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) No. 36 Chevrolet in the AdvoCare 500.
TBR AT ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY – TBR made three starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway since 2010. Mike Bliss posted the team’s best start of 30th and finish of 24th in the spring event in 2010.
BLANEY AT ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY – Blaney made 23 starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway in his NSCS career. He scored two top-10 finishes in his 23 starts. He tallied his best start of third in the fall race in 2001. He posted his best finish of eighth in the spring event in both 2003 and 2005.
TMONE – This weekend will mark the 14th partnership of TBR and TMone. TMone, a provider of domestic business process services (BPO) and customer relationship management (CRM) outsourcing, will be an associate sponsor on the No. 36 Chevrolet. CHASSIS NO. 356 – Blaney will pilot chassis No. 356, purchased from Richard Childress Racing in the off-season. David Reutimann last drove this chassis at Michigan International Speedway. Reutimann also drove the chassis at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Auto Club Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Kansas Speedway, Dover International Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Pocono Raceway this season. He had his best showing in the chassis at Kentucky Speedway where he drove from the 38th starting spot to a 23rd-place finish. His best qualifying effort was at Kansas Speedway where he qualified in the 16th spot.
IN THE POINTS – The No. 36 team is holding onto 35th place in NSCS Owner Points. The team is 19 points outside of the 34th spot and locked into the top-35 by 102 points. Blaney is 33rd in NSCS Driver Points. He is 64 points behind Landon Cassill and two points ahead of teammate David Reutimann.
