Brad Keselowski (No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger) Finished Fourth CAN YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR RACE TODAY? “We fought hard all day long. Didn’t have quite what we needed but didn’t give up on it and you know a fourth-place finish is a result of that.
“The Discount Tire Dodge was just OK today. We were fast, but not fast enough at the end to run with and catch the leaders. The 6 and 3 cars were really strong, the 18 car as well.
“We made some adjustments on the car and fought all day long and was able to bring home a fourth-place finish. We just didn’t have the perfect car today to run with Ricky (Stenhouse Jr.) and Austin (Dillon). It was a respectable day for everyone. We didn’t give up on it all day and a fourth-place was all that we could get today.”
Jeremy Bullins (Crew Chief, No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger) DID IT TAKE UNTIL THE LAST STINT OF THE RACE WITH 30 LAPS TO GO TO GET YOUR CAR WHERE YOU WANTED IT? “We were really good on short runs in the beginning of the race. The first run, about 25 laps, we thought that we were really good and then we’d fall off later in the run. We’re missing a little something in the front end. We felt like it was only going to be about 25 or 30 laps on the last run to the checkered flag, so we went back on some adjustments that we made earlier to get long run speed thinking that it would help our short run speed. We were coming there at the end but just ran into a couple fast cars that were better. A solid day for the Discount Tire Dodge team.”
Sam Hornish Jr. (No. 12 Avis Dodge Challenger) Finished Sixth CAN YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR RACE? “We finished about as good as our Avis Dodge was today. We were good at times and not so good at other times of the race. We just weren’t able to run with the top two or three guys on the long run and it cost us some spots. We had another good point’s day but we need some wins. We kept at it all day and kept the car clean, just not enough today. The short runs hurt us especially on that last restart when we were second and just couldn’t hold on to track position. The 18 and 6 really took off and there was no catching them. A solid day for the Avis Dodge Challenger.”
