Roush Fenway at Dover

While nicknamed the ‘Monster Mile,’ RFR has experienced a great deal of success at every level of NASCAR competition at Dover. Roush Fenway started a total of 255 NASCAR races at Dover, tallying 16 wins, 78 top fives, 121 top 10s and 10 poles, while leading 4795 laps in NASCAR action.

Sweeping Up

Roush Fenway swept the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series spring races at Dover last year, with Matt Kenseth taking home the Cup ‘Monster’ and Edwards doing the honors in the Nationwide race. Roush Fenway swept both the Sprint Cup and NNS races there in the spring of 2004 as well and won both the Truck and Cup races there in 2006. The team will look for its first fall Cup win at the track since 2007.

Taming the Monster

Roush Fenway’s nine wins in the Sprint Cup Series at Dover are the third most at a track for the organization (trailing only Michigan and Bristol with 11 and 10). Dover is also top two for Roush Fenway in the Cup series in top fives (50), top 10s (78) and poles (6).

Leading the Way

Roush Fenway has led a total of 3,844 laps in Cup action at Dover, the most the team has led at any track.

Winner’s Circle

Roush Fenway has won in all three major NASCAR series at Dover (9 Cup, 5 Nationwide and 2 Truck). Roush Fenway won its first race at Dover in the Cup series from the pole in the fall of 1997.

Runner Up

In addition to its nine Cup wins at Dover, Roush Fenway has finished second in the Cup series on 13 occasions. In fact Roush Fenway finished second at Dover twice before breaking into the winner’s circle in 1997. Twice the company has posted one-two finishes at Dover in Cup action(spring ’06 and fall ’07). In addition, Roush Fenway has six runner-up finishes at Dover in the Nationwide Series; including a one-two finish there last spring (Edwards, Stenhouse Jr.)

Stenhouse To Run Double Duty in No. 6

Ricky Stenhouse will pull double-duty this week in Dover, driving the No. 6 Rancher’s Reserve/Safeway Ford in both the Nationwide and Cup races at Dover. This will be Stenhouse’s second Sprint Cup Series start this season (Daytona 500 – finished 21st) and his third career Sprint start (Charlotte1-2011 – finished 11th.)

Looking for 700

RFR will look for its 700th career top-five Sprint Cup finish this weekend in Dover. The team scored its first-ever top-five finish at Bristol on April 10, 1988, when Mark Martin finished second in the No. 6 Roush Fenway entry in only the team’s sixth NASCAR start.
