Carl Edwards on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:

“I like racing at Texas a lot. I’m excited to go there since I think we’ve got as good a shot at winning there as we’ve had all season. We want to finish this season strong just like we did in 2010 leading up to our 2011 championship run, and to do that we need to get a couple of wins. Texas is a really fun race track. Greg (Biffle) won there in the spring and we feel like we’ve got a really good shot at it.”

Crew chief Chad Norris on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:

“Carl has three wins at Texas already and we’d sure like to get him the fourth one this weekend. Biffle won there in the spring while we got a top-10 finish so we know the RFR Fords are strong at Texas. We’re taking the same car we raced at Dover last month which was fast there so if we can avoid the bad luck that has plagued us this season hopefully we can end the season strong the next three weeks.”

REWIND NOVEMBER, 2011… Edwards was 11th with 20 laps to go as some teams elected to stay out as long as they could hoping for a caution. As the cars in front of him eventually were forced to pit, he was in third with 10 to go. Jeff Burton led the race and ran out of fuel with four laps left when Tony Stewart inherited the lead and never looked back. Edwards tried to chase him down, but could not catch him in the remaining laps.
