(PLANO, Texas) – AdvoCare International, LP (AdvoCare), a leading health and wellness company, today announced three philanthropic initiatives scheduled to occur throughout the upcoming race weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. AdvoCare is the title sponsor for the Phoenix International Raceway’s Nov. 11 NASCAR® Sprint™ Cup Series Race.
AdvoCare, who recently announced it will strengthen its presence in the NASCAR arena through an increased sponsorship of Richard Childress Racing driver Austin Dillon in the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series, will also help support Childress’ charity of choice, the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma, by including the Childress Institute as part of AdvoCare’s overall philanthropic effort.
“More than 12,000 kids die every year from life-threatening injuries – more than all other causes combined,” said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing and co-founder of the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma. “It’s the number one killer of children in America, and it can happen anywhere at any time to any child. We are grateful for the powerful teaming of Austin and Advocare to help raise money and awareness for this national problem.”
To benefit the Childress Institute, AdvoCare will make an initial donation of $1,000, followed by an additional $100 for every lap Austin Dillon leads in the Nationwide Series race on Nov. 10. If Austin places first through fifth, AdvoCare will make an additional donation based upon his placement. Race fans can donate $10 to the Childress Institute by texting WIN to 80077. (See terms below).
“The Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma is an organization close to the heart of AdvoCare and one that’s essential to furthering pediatric trauma research for severely injured children,” said Richard Wright, AdvoCare President and CEO. “We are proud to support the research and awareness the Institute facilitates, and hope our contribution can help their mission continue in the future.”
Lastly, to celebrate Veteran’s Day, AdvoCare will give VIP packages to active duty and veteran service members from the Air Force, Army and Operation Homefront staff. Each VIP package includes tickets to the Nationwide Series race on Saturday and Sprint Cup race on Sunday, as well as access to AdvoCare’s hospitality tent.
Tickets for the November 11 AdvoCare 500 Semi-Final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race are available at www.phoenixraceway.com or by calling 1-866-408-RACE (7223).
