KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Landon Cassill returns to the cockpit of the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 4 Chevrolet this week for the Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway.
Saturday’s race will mark Cassill’s first appearance in a Nationwide car at the 1.5-mile track. However, his career worksheet includes six Sprint Cup and one Camping World Truck Series race at Kansas.
“It’s a fun track,” Cassill said of the 1.5-mile superspeedway. “You can build good speed there, and you can move around on the track to find a better groove. I’m looking forward to going there with Johnny (team owner Johnny Davis) and his crew.”
Nationwide practice is scheduled at Kansas at 2:10 p.m. (ET) and 3:40 p.m. Friday. Qualifying is set for noon Saturday, with the race to follow at 3:30 p.m.
After the Kansas race, only four events remain on the Nationwide schedule – races at Charlotte, Texas, Phoenix and Homestead.
THE RACE: 300 miles, 200 laps, race 29 of the Nationwide Series season
