Whitt Finishes 16th in the No. 44 Ferguson Camry at Dover

Cole Whitt Race Summary: Behind the wheel of the No. 44 Ferguson Toyota Camry for TriStar Motorsports, Cole Whitt brought home a 16th place finish in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Dover International Speedway, Saturday afternoon. Whitt started in the 19th position and quickly started to pick his way through the pack. Whitt Opted to stay out during the first caution while in the 11th position and stated the Ferguson Camry was “loose off”. Crew Chief Randy Cox called Whitt to pit road during the events second caution for four Goodyear tires, an air pressure adjustment and Sunoco fuel. Restarting 23rd, Whitt was set to charge back to the front. While the leaders began to cycle through green flag pit stops, Whitt and the 44 sailed out front leading three laps before bringing the Toyota to pit road for service.  As the laps began to wind down, Whitt radioed that the Camry was “tight on the throttle.” The conditions gave the 22-year old driver trouble in traffic, but Whitt held on to take the checkered flag from the 16th position. Whitt will have a month off from the Nationwide Series and will be back in the Takagi Tankless Water Heaters No. 44 Toyota Camry at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, November 2nd.

Stayed out with top-11 cars during the first caution

No major adjustments made during pit stops, only tires, air pressure and fuel.

Earned 12th top-20 finish in 13 races.

Currently 21st in the Driver Points Standings after competing in only 13 races.

Whitt will be back in the 44 for Texas Motor Speedway

Whitt: “We started the race loose off. After a couple of adjustments the car became tight on the throttle, making it tough to gain spots in traffic. I can’t thank Ferguson Enterprises enough for coming on board for the weekend, I wish we could have finished better for them.”
