Early JACKpot

Roush Fenway hit the Vegas jackpot right off the bat, winning the inaugural Cup event at Las Vegas in 1998. Mark Martin led 82 laps in the victory that served as a sweeping day for RFR.

Inaugural Sweep

Roush Fenway placed all five of its Cup entries inside the top 10 of that inaugural Las Vegas Cup race in 1998, including three inside the top five, four inside the top six, one in the winners circle and the runner up  (6 – 1st, 99 – 2nd, 26 – 4th, 16 – 6th and 97 – 10th).

Continued Success

Roush Fenway Racing won the first three Cup races at LVMS from ‘98-’00, with Jeff Burton winning back-to-back events in ’99 and ’00. Roush Fenway also took three of the first nine Nationwide events at LVMS.

Victory Lane at Vegas

In addition to the first three Sprint Cup races at LVMS, Roush Fenway again found the winners’ circle in 2003 and 2004 at the 1.5-mile track with Matt Kenseth. Carl Edwards took the checkered flag at the 2008 and 2011 events to give RFR seven Cup wins at Las Vegas with four different drivers. Roush Fenway Racing has won just under half of the Sprint Cup events at LVMS.

Back to Back at Vegas

Roush Fenway has won back-to-back Cup races at LVMS on two separate occasions in ’99-’00 and ’03-04’ and once in the Nationwide Series in ‘99 and ‘00.

Breaking it Down

Roush Fenway has posted 71 Cup starts at LVMS, finishing inside the top 10 fifty-two percent of the time. In fact, Roush Fenway has placed a car inside the top 10 of the event in each of its 16 years on the circuit. Roush Fenway has placed multiple cars inside the top 10 in all but three of the 16 races at LVMS and the organization has put a car inside the top five in 11 of 16 events there, including a fifth-place run by Edwards last season.

Nationwide Effort

RFR has won six times in the Nationwide Series at LVMS, most recently with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. RFR Nationwide cars have finished inside the top 10 in an impressive 76 percent (32) of their 42 starts in the series and inside the top five almost 50 percent of the time (19). Both Bayne and Travis Pastrana finished top 10 in Vegas in the NNS last season.

Across the Board at Vegas

All in all, Roush Fenway Racing has tallied 16 total NASCAR wins, while turning 28,878 laps in NASCAR action at LVMS for 43,317 miles, while leading over 2,600 laps at the track in NASCAR’s top three divisions. At the same time the organization has finished inside the top 10 in 57 percent of its 140 NASCAR starts at LVMS.

Roush Fenway Racing’s “Race Around America” Takes the Green Flag

The first of eight webisodes chronicling Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) drivers Greg Biffle, Ryan Reed, Trevor Bayne and Chris Buescher as they make their way from race to race throughout the 2014 NASCAR season debuted today at www.racearoundamerica.com. From now until the final checkered flag of the season in Miami in November, the four drivers will pilot the Walgreens “Race Around America” Ford Mustang across the country’s highways. Along the way, fans will vote on upgrades to the vehicle; eventually transforming the GT in a fully enhanced ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang. In addition, fans will determine the various routes the drivers take from track to track, as well as special challenges along the way.

2014 Roush Fenway Lineup

Roush Fenway Racing will field six NASCAR teams in 2014. Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will make up the RFR Sprint Cup lineup, while Trevor Bayne will anchor rookies Chris Buescher and Ryan Reed in the Nationwide Series.
