The New ‘Alabama Gang’ Heading to Toledo

(Mooresville, NC – May 7, 2014)  As the grandson of Donnie Allison and great nephew of Bobby Allison (members of the original Alabama Gang), Justin Allison hopes to carry on the family legacy as he advances in his racing career. Allison will attempt to make this dream become a reality with the help from Team BCR teammate, Grant Enfinger, an Alabama native. Together, they could become the new “Alabama Gang.”

Allison has made only two starts in the 2014 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season in the No. 88 Havacosales.com Ford Fusion. With only speedway experience under his belt from Kansas in 2013, and Daytona and Talladega in 2014, the ARCA rookie will make his ARCA short track debut at Toledo Speedway.

“This is where the ‘real racing’ will happen,” says Allison. “Racing at these speedways, such as Daytona and Talladega, has a tremendous amount of variables.  At the short tracks, you not only have to bring a fast car, but have the talent as a driver. Howard Bixman and Team BCR has a proven winning short track program. I think we’ll be a threat to our competition in Toledo since short track racing is what I grew up on and have the most experience with.”

Allison’s teammate at Team BCR, Grant Enfinger in the No. 90 Motor Honey/Casite – Triple K Construction Ford, started off the year in victory lane. Not just once, or twice, but three times! And then remained to dominate as he earned his second-career pole award at Talladega Superspeedway.

Enfinger raced Schrader door to door in last season’s Toledo race, until cutting a tire down, with just a few laps left of the race. Fairhope, AL’s driver will make his fifth start of the season as the current points leader for the 2014 ARCA Racing Series Championship with Team BCR.

Enfinger said, “Toledo’s a really good track to race at. We were very competitive last year and we’re bringing that same car back with us. We’ve made improvements, and I think we’re going to be even better than we were.”

The Menards 200 presented by Federated Auto Parts at Toledo Speedway will be broadcasted live on Fox Sports 1 at 2pm ET on Sunday, May 18, 2014.
