Michael Annett Pre-Race Notes & Quotes: Charlotte

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 21, 2014) – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie Michael Annett will face his most daunting challenge to date this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, competing in the 600-mile race – NASCAR’s Memorial Day weekend tradition – on the 1.5-mile track.

Though it will easily be the longest race of Annett’s career, Charlotte has historically been kind to the driver of the No. 7 Pilot Flying J Chevrolet SS.

Charlotte was the scene of Annett’s return from a sternum injury last year in NASCAR Nationwide Series competition. He finished 17th and started 33rd in the Memorial Day weekend race. In two of his last three Nationwide Series starts at Charlotte, he finished 10th.

The event airs live on Sunday, May 25 at 6 pm Eastern on FOX.

MICHAEL ANNETT QUOTE:

“The biggest challenge for us, and for any team this weekend, will be keeping up with the changes to the track as it goes from day to night. I’ve watched past races and it’s amazing how cars handle so much differently from beginning to end. That’s something we’ll have to figure out. Fortunately, 400 laps provides a lot of time to troubleshoot.”
