KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 M&M’s Peanut Butter Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 2nd
Are you disappointed you didn’t get the pole award?
“The 2 (Brad Keselowski) and 22 (Joey Logano) always seem to go faster on their second runs and we just got beat by speed there. Our M&M’s Camry has been fast all weekend, really happy with it in race trim and everything so I think we’ll be good for the race Sunday.”
How was your qualifying run?
“Our car was really fast in practice and really liked it there but just wasn’t able to quite get the speed we wanted there in qualifying. I don’t think anybody really did. I think everybody kind of slowed down. Overall we slowed down a little more than most I guess. I don’t know. But, just didn’t quite get enough there that last run and come up short.”
What was your strategy during the qualifying session?
“I think a lot of people were just kind of waiting there the first run to let some of the rubber kind of get knocked off the race track and then again like Joey (Logano) said, the second round there with waiting on a cloud but also allowing the opportunity for guys to go knock a little bit more rubber off the track — maybe also just kind of sitting there waiting. Trying to go as late as you can just thinking that the track might cool down that extra one degree to help you out.”
DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 Autism Speaks/FedEx Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 7th
How was your qualifying run?
“We weren’t bad. I was hoping to get somewhere in that top five or six and it was pretty close to where I thought we’d be. Overall still not too bad. Just missed the balance a little bit in that final session but other than that everything is pretty good with the car.”
BRIAN VICKERS, No. 55 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
Starting Position: 9th
Are you pleased with your qualifying effort?
“It was a good run. Our Aaron’s Dream Machine Camry was good. You just want to sit on the pole. You always want more out of it — that’s part of being competitive. But, I think we got a really good race car. We were sitting there talking about what we could’ve done better. We know a few things that we could’ve done and kind of when we went out with the car and things like that but you learn.”
Are you optimistic for Sunday’s race?
“Yeah, absolutely. I think we’ve got a good race car and a decent starting position and get a good pit box there and just make it a little better tomorrow and be there at the end.”
CLINT BOWYER, No. 15 Cherry 5-Hour ENERGY Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
Starting Position: 10th
How was your qualifying effort?
“Wasn’t exactly what we wanted but we made it to the final round of knock-out qualifying which means we did something right. I got tight there that last run but happy with the effort of everyone on this 5-hour ENERGY Toyota team. We got us a top-10 starting spot for Sunday which is good especially at a place like Dover.”
Did the track conditions change quite a bit from practice to qualifying?
“(Brian) Pattie (crew chief) told me at practice that the track had so much grip because it was there was a cloud cover. You know as soon as that sun comes out, this is a concrete race track, it changes quite a bit with the sun.”
BRETT MOFFITT, No. 66 Land Castle Toyota Camry, Jay Robinson Racing
Starting Position: 18th
MATT KENSETH, No. 20 Dollar General Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 21st
COLE WHITT, No. 26 Burger King Toyota Camry, Swan Racing

ALEX BOWMAN, No. 23 Dr. Pepper Toyota Camry, BK Racing
Starting Position: 35th
RYAN TRUEX, No. 83 Burger King Toyota Camry, BK Racing
Starting Position: 41st
