Bayne at Kentucky
· Trevor Bayne will make his sixth NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Kentucky Speedway on Friday night. In five previous starts at the 1.5-mile oval, Bayne has an average start of 11.2 and an average finish of 12.2.
· In the past 11 NNS races held at Kentucky, Bayne ranks fifth in laps run in the top 15 (828), green flag passes (185) and in quality passes with an average of 28.8 a race, according to NASCAR’s loop data statistics.
· In 36 career starts on 1.5-mile tracks in the NNS, Bayne has recorded one win, eight top-five and 16 top-10 finishes, with an average finish of 11.4.
· Bayne earned his best finish in consecutive seasons at the Kentucky Speedway, finishing 11th in the June 2010 and July 2011 events at the 1.5-mile oval.
The Car
· Crew chief Chad Norris brings chassis RK-862 to Kentucky Speedway this weekend. This is a brand new chassis for the No.6 AdvoCare team.
Recapping Road America
· Bayne qualified for the 50-Lap event at Road America in the 15th position, but was forced to start at the rear of the field per the NASCAR rule book after changing tires following qualifying. Officially starting 37th, Bayne immediately began to make his way towards the front. Battling for position inside the top 10 late in the event, Bayne was forced to go behind the wall following an incident with 10 laps remaining in the race. After surveying the car, the team decided the damage was too severe, ending Bayne’s afternoon just shy of the finish. He would ultimately be scored with a 27th-place finish. With the result, Bayne now ranks sixth in the championship standings and trails leader Regan Smith by 63 points.

Bayne on racing at Kentucky:
“Kentucky is a fun track to race on as a driver. It’s got an older track surface which gives it a lot of different characteristics from the normal 1.5-mile tracks we go to. The test session we will have there on Wednesday will be beneficial for us, as it gives us an extra day to get a handle on all of the bumps through the corners. With that in mind I’m definitely excited about heading back there this weekend with our No.6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang and I know Chad (Norris) and the guys have been working really hard on giving me a car that will be capable of getting the victory on Friday night.”

Kentucky’s surface is older than most of the tracks we go to, so we have to make sure our car is prepared for all the wear and tear that comes with an abrasive surface like Kentucky.
