Armstrong Hopes to Make the Most of Final Road Course Race at Mid-Ohio

Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 43 WinField team have been happy with their road course cars this year, the team’s just lacking the finishes to prove it after finishing 25th at both previous events due to on-track incidents. The Nationwide team at RPM finished 22nd in the inaugural race at Mid-Ohio last year after receiving damage late in the race. This weekend, the team hopes to change their luck and make the most of this final road course race.The WinField team will have a little extra help and luck on their side this weekend as Nationwide Children’s Hospital patient Sydney Huber will be the team’s honorary team member for the weekend. Sydney is also featured on the No. 43 Ford Mustang’s decklid and TV panel and will hang out with the WinField crew throughout the weekend.

This weekend, @Dakoda Armstrong hopes to make the most of the final road course race at @Mid Ohio SportsCar Course and his time with @Nationwide Children’s Hospital patient Champion Sydney Huber.

“Mid-Ohio is one of the tracks I haven’t even seen yet. I’ve been practicing on a simulator to try to prepare, and I think that will be a good start for me. The simulator helped when I went to Road America because I already knew where the breaking points were on the track. I also think it will help just coming off of another road course race, but Mid-Ohio has a lot more turns and some pretty challenging sections on the track. The last two road course races we went to, we had really good cars all weekend, and we just had some incidents on track that have prevented us from getting those finishes we deserved, so hopefully we can change that luck around this weekend.

“I’m really excited to be a part of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Patient Champion program. We have Sydney on our car this weekend. She’s a patient at the hospital, and she’ll be hanging out with us this weekend. Whenever we have sponsors that provide us with opportunities like this, it always makes the weekend more special, so I’m looking forward to hanging out with Sydney this weekend.”
