CASSILL POSTS 14th AT MID-OHIO

LEXINGTON, Ohio – Landon Cassill turned in a stellar performance Saturday in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, rallying from the back of the field to score a 14th-place finish.

Cassill, who also runs the Sprint Cup Series schedule full time and was splitting the weekend at the Cup race at Michigan International Speedway, started from the rear after Ryan Ellis qualified the Bon Bon Boom Bubble Gum Pops Chevrolet 15th.

Cassill had reached the 20th position by lap 10. He ran as high as 11th before finishing 14th, on the lead lap.

“A fine run today,” said Cassill, who remained 11th in Nationwide Series points. “We got all we could out of it. The car ran super-good.”

Rookie Chris Buescher won the race, scoring his first Nationwide victory. Chase Elliott continues to lead the points.

The series moves on to Bristol Motor Speedway for an Aug. 22 race.
