Biffle Earns Fourth Top-10 Finish in Four Races with 10th-Place Finish at Bristol

BRISTOL, Tenn. (August 23, 2014) – Greg Biffle drove his No. 16 3M Hire Our Heroes Ford Fusion to a 10th-place finish Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway.  With just over 100 laps remaining, contact on the track left Biffle’s bumper covering dangling.  A perfectly timed caution allowed the team to remove the cover and Biffle was able to capitalize, earning his fourth top-10 finish in the last four races.

Biffle qualified his No. 16 3M Hire Our Heroes Ford eighth for 500 laps of short-track racing at Bristol.  In the opening laps of the race Biffle lost some track position with a Ford that was loose and needed more rear grip.  Slight chassis and air pressure adjustments throughout the race left Biffle running just outside the top 10.

On lap 372, contact from the No. 27 machine of Paul Menard tore the bumper cover off Biffle’s Ford which was dangling by one corner.  Luckily three laps later the caution came out, allowing the team time to pit and remove the cover.  With the cover removed Biffle was able to work his way up to 10th and hang on to the position until the checkered flag waved.
