RYAN NEWMAN, NO. 31 CATERPILLAR CHEVROLET SS QUALIFYING PRESS CONFERENCE TRANSCRIPT:
ON THE IMPORTANCE OF STARTING UP FRONT AND GETTING A GOOD PIT STALL SELECTION, AN ON IMPENDING RAIN IN THE FORECAST
“We definitely saw the radar and the forecast as far as the chance of rain. We really didn’t expect it to come as soon as it did; but nevertheless we started our No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet in race trim and made one run, basically, and switched it over. I felt like we were really close. And spent the rest of the time doing not qualifying runs, knowing that we had a chance of that being our actual qualifying position. So, it was a good effort, a good start for our guys. They did a good job. Kyle (Busch) just did a little bit better job.”
