New Hampshire for the Second Time…Justin Allgaier will make his second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) this weekend in the No. 51 PlanBSales.com Chevy. Allgaier made his first NHMS NSCS start earlier this season at the 1.058-mile track. Unfortunately, a late-race accident ended his day prematurely and resulted in a 37th-place finish. Allgaier has five starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) at NHMS with three top-10 finishes at the “Magic Mile.”
Welcome Aboard…This weekend, Allgaier’s No. 51 Chevy will sport the blue and white colors representing PlanBSales.com. Plan B Sales was founded in 2010 and started as a Lionel die-cast and Chase Authentics apparel wholesale distributor. The Concord, N.C. based company has grown into the largest independent racing collectibles distributor in the United States. Plan B Sales offers both retail and wholesale customers a vast array of products through their website, www.planbsales.com.
Tune-In Alert…This week on Raceline, Steve Post visits the HScott Motorsports shop to show you how the No. 51 PlanBSales.com Chevy was wrapped with decals in preparation for this weekend’s race. To find out when Raceline airs in your area, visit www.racelineonline.com for a list of stations. Allgaier will be on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio’s Front Stretch show with host Pat Patterson on Sunday, September 21 at 10 a.m. EDT. He will recap last weekend’s race at Chicagoland and preview the NHMS race with sponsorship from PlanBSales.com.
Chicagoland Recap…One year after Allgaier made his first career NSCS at Chicagoland Speedway, he returned to make his second NSCS start there, the 31st NSCS start of his career. Unfortunately, cold and rainy weather caused qualifying to be rained out and Allgaier started in the 26th position after the field was set based on the first practice. After suffering a mechanical failure, Allgaier brought his No. 51 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet home in the 27th position for HScott Motorsports.
Sunoco Rookie of the Year…After graduating to the NSCS this season, Allgaier is competing for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in the No. 51 PlanBSales.com Chevy. In 2009, Allgaier took home the Rookie of the Year title in the NNS. After Chicagoland, Allgaier is currently third in the standings, behind Kyle Larson and Austin Dillon.
Justin Allgaier on New Hampshire Motor Speedway:
“I guess I can say that I’m looking for a little redemption after the race at New Hampshire [Motor Speedway] earlier in the season. Getting wrecked with just a few laps to go was very disappointing. Off the track, we have a big weekend with PlanBSales.com as our new sponsor. It has been fun to partner with them and hopefully we can put on a great show for their guests.”
Crew Chief Steve Addington on New Hampshire Motor Speedway:
“I think Justin will be a lot more comfortable at New Hampshire [Motor Speedway] this weekend since he raced the Sprint Cup car there earlier this year. We need the weather to cooperate with us so that we can get qualifying in and get a good starting spot. It’s a fairly short track so if you don’t get a good starting spot, it’s very easy to go a lap down. Each week as we return to tracks for the second time this year, he’s getting better and better with understanding how he has to drive the track in a Cup car versus a Nationwide car.”
